Sonoma, CaliforniaEvery good thing about the Caribbean!

I was chatting with a friend about the trip we took 3 years ago to Wench's View (the adorable name of this incredible home in the abacos), and I could not believe I had not written this review sooner.
Honestly, I am an avid world traveler, and we are still talking about this trip!
I grew up in the Caribbean, and I am telling you, this house (the word 'house' doesn't even do it justice) is everything good about the islands.
I got up early to do yoga on the rocks (there is a long walkway out to the ocean with a fire pit...just in case drinking by the fire is more your speed than morning yoga). From my vantage point, I could see both coasts, the sunrise, the sea breeze...it was beyond divine.
We poured rum drinks and played croquet while the sun was setting. We swam near the dock...which was like swimming in a tropical fish tank. We lounged by the pool and took full advantage of the perfectly appointed home - the kitchen is ample, the rooms are spacious, the porches are abundant, and there is plenty of space to have privacy if you want it.
The family that owns the property could not have been more accommodating. They told us what to expect, but no words can prepare you for how incredible this place is. -

I'll never forget the first time I saw this beautiful vacation home as we were pulling up to the dock... it took my breath away! My fiancé and I stayed here for a week with other couples and their kids and just had to come back again the next year. Now vacationing here at the Wench's View in Tilloo Cay has become an annual tradition. This beautiful home with extended bedrooms or "pods” is well suited for couples and families alike. The views are breathtaking and the accommodations are exceptional. You have the luxury of privacy and feel like you're on your own private island... but yet satellite television, internet, and a phone to help you stay in touch with the world. My favorite aspect was being able to throw on a mask and flippers and snorkel by the dock, swimming with a variety of tropical fish. I love the option of either cooking in the kitchen and dining indoors, grilling outside, having dinner pool-side at the cabana, or taking a short boat ride to the local restaurants. This place is gives new meaning to the word "paradise.” The worst part about it is leaving!

My wife, some friends and I have stayed here at least three times, and we can't wait to go back for a fourth. It's like having your own private island! I felt like a king kicking back some Kalik Golds while lounging on the wooden deck by the pool overlooking the bay. I caught lobster the size of my arm while snorkeling. I paused for hermit crab crossing while destroying my friends in an intense croquet match. I fell asleep every night listening to the surf crash on the ocean side rocks, and every morning when I woke up I'd pinch myself to make sure it was real and I was still at the Wenches' View. The house is incredible. There's enough room for everyone to gather, party and hang out together, or separate areas whenever a little privacy is needed. My times spent at the Wenches' View in the Bahamas are times when I can look back and honestly think, "It doesn't get any better than this." I would whole-heartedly recommend this location for anyone who wants a stress-free, sun-filled vacation in their own, personal Bahamian estate.

Ever wonder what it would be like to live on your own private island? Well my wife and I found out when we stayed here with a group of our friends. Beautiful house with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Quiet and peaceful, it is a wonderful tucked-away spot to escape the rat race. The setup is ideal, with a large main house, and two smaller private bungalows adjacent - great for couples. Wifi is also available if you feel the need to "connect."
Local dining spots are easily accessible by boat (some of the best fish dip I've ever had is nearby). Or if you're sporty, there are lobster and fish a plenty in the surrounding waters.
There are also beautiful snorkeling/diving/kayaking spots nearby, from shallow to deeper reefs. Tropical fish and even sea turtles zip about in the appealing, clear waters. We also found a great picnic spot on a gorgeous secluded white sandy beach -a short boat ride away.
This property is definitely one of the most dynamic places I have ever been - beautiful house, beautiful scenery, azure waters, fish, dive, ski, relax, tan, pool -or just grab a good book and swing in the hammock - and enjoy your own private island. I will definitely come back here.

My family and I were fortunate enough to stay here for a week over the summer. From the very beginning we were taken with the beauty of the island and of this perfect abacos home. The house is beautiful, large, private, beyond comfortable and has the most amazing views! After just a few moments, we truly felt like we were home. The pool, over looking the ocean & nearby island, was where we spent the majority of our time. It was the perfect place to completely unwind, relax and sip some local cocktails. There is nothing like a nap on a floaty in a perfect pool, with perfect weather and a perfect view! From the property, we were able to take a short boat ride to nearby restaurants very easily, but found that the view, accommodations & pool at the house were hard to beat. We enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the home, and cooking lobster that we caught. I cannot wait to return, and we already have a trip booked for this summer with some friends and their families.

Before we went we had seen the pictures of the property and thought it looked gorgeous but when we got there we were completely blown away! The house is huge and gorgeous! It truly is beyond words. We have been traveling to this area for years, and we have been back for 3 years in a row. We count the days every summer til we can visit again.
The entire house was kept spotlessly clean, the view is sensational and the pool is the perfect place to spend time morning, noon and night. You could literally come to the Bahamas and never leave this paradise. It is wonderful for both a group of couples or families.
Even if you are not a diver or adventurer, there is so much to do. The house is a short boat ride to some fabulous restaurants in Hope Town and other areas. On one of our many trips, we were fortunate to meet the owners. Sweet, amazing family.
Overall everyone was so friendly. We are always absolutely sad to be leaving but know this is our family spot every year. We will definitely be recommending it to everyone. This was probably the best trip my family has ever experienced. -

I was looking for a place to rent with my family and friends for a week's vacation where we could relax and not be surrounded by lots of tourists. We booked this house in the Bahamas since there were three separate living quarters. It was basically (2) 1 bedrooms and the house which could sleep 4 adults and a bunkbed room for the children. I needed this type of set up for the family and friends who were traveling with us. The house was clean and all our needs were taken care by the family who owned the property. The house is only accessed by boat and the main town of Hopetown was just a 15 min boat ride away. The town has a lot to offer including restaurants, bars, and tourist shops. The house had cable, internet, and phone so I could keep up with the world and could be reached if needed. The house was amazing and had all the comforts of home even though we were on a secluded island in the Bahamas. The children loved the pool, kayaking, and feeding the fish after dinner. This place is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the Bahamas in a totally different way and off the beaten path.
