Beautiful, relaxing weekend in abiquiu, New Mexico

Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Pat (the owner and builder), offers a round stone home that is cozy, well built, and an excellent example of modern use of adobe. The kitchen is well-stocked, open and easy for two people to work without difficulty, the bathroom offers a color-filled hot morning shower, and the bed is heavenly. Step outside the bedroom door to soak in a two-person hot tub; to gaze in awe at the star-filled night sky. Pat referred us to Plaza Blanca for a wonderful morning hike within a 10-minute drive from the home. Thank you, Pat, we will be back.

What a beautiful place for either solitude or adventure.

Left on 06/08/2012 for a stay in June 2012

My wife and I spent several days in the new "Steeley" accommodation at abiquiu House. It was a wonderful place to stay, and Pat was a very warm and welcoming host. The area is packed with activities to suit any taste, whether it be quietly browsing art galleries, or rock climbing. Anything you wish is available.

Steeley was comfortable and clean, and is a remarkable tribute to Pat's ability to construct these buildings. It's a beautiful place.

We will be back, as often as we can.

      A Dream Come True

Left on 01/14/2012 for a stay in December 2011

My husband and I have stayed at abiquiu House many times.  Finding this place was like a dream come true.  Charming doesn't even begin to describe it.  We love the peace and quiet and the beautiful views.  We mostly come to abiquiu House for r&r...sitting; by the fireplace reading a good book, taking naps, star gazing at night, watching the sunsets, but there are lots of activities in the area for those who want to be active.  We've enjoyed hiking at Ghost Ranch and kayaking on abiquiu Lake (we brought our kayaks with us).  A thoroughly enjoyable experience.  We anxiously await every visit.

      Perfect Retreat

Left on 01/10/2012 for a stay in September 2010

I stayed in the abiquiu House two years in a row. The location is great, not far from Georgia O'Keefe's House, Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu Lake, Plaza Blanca, and Oje Caliente. Abiquiu House was clean, well appointed and well equiped. The washer and dryer are a real plus. The table outside is perfect for watching the sunset or eating a meal and the hot tub great for stargazing. The windows of abiquiu House are frames for beautiful views of the mountains. Pat, was great to answer any questions about the area and provides a binder that has lots of information about the area. Great place to stay.

      Relaxing and breathtaking

Left on 01/10/2012 for a stay in October 2011

I had the privilege of staying at abiqui House two weeks. This beautiful stone/adobe home will hug you. Wake every morning to the mountains, sleep every night with the stars and moon so close it seems you can touch them. This homey casita lives large. Pat is an amazing host. There is absolute privacy with neighbors just near enough. Great location for exploring a wide region or or just sitting up in the adirondack chairs and cloud gazing. Quiet nights, long lazy days. kGreat kitchen! Enjoy. October weather was spectacular.
