Additional Location Information
Escape the crowds and concrete chaos of central Accra!
We are located in an emerging and pleasant residential / business area in the hilly suburbs of Accra (our Stockbroker belt...!) where you will live amongst and meet with local people, instead of other tourists! Find us on a hill at Pokuase Junction/ACP Estates Junction, a few minutes’ walk up from the shops and stalls of our junction, and from the main road (Accra to Kumasi motorway), where local buses and taxis can take you into Achimota (with the largest bus terminal in Ghana), Circle, Madina/Haatso, via Kwabenya road, Lapaz and Kaneshie or central Accra; and going the other way- deep into the rural areas, past Nsawam, Aburi and beyond...The new motorway has reduced travel times miraculously, so that Circle is now less than 20 minutes away. Pokuase town, and Kwabenya offer busy local shopping and night life for those ready to mix and mingle.
Or take a 3-5 minutes’ walk to Pokuase 'train station', where you can take the local train into central Accra, or to Nsawam, twice daily, and back. We are lucky as there are possibly only two lines still operating in Ghana...The train will take you on a fascinating journey through the city, offering a privileged insight into the lives and struggles of ordinary people. Stand (sit if you are fast...) in 'coach class' or pay a little extra for a 'first class' seat! This train journey to central Accra - from where you can walk through Makola Market, Rawlings Park, the Ministries and even to he sea...- takes 40 minutes or so.

Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013
and I recently stay at the accommodation with my partner Soji (House 5). I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the stay at Legassi Gardens. The staff was very polite and very accommodating to me and my needs. The actual accommodation itself was 100% nicer than I accepted. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a nice open plan living area/ kitchenette. It was so peaceful to be around the grounds in and out of Legassi. We got some clothing made, we used the cafe- prices were reasonable. I got a freshly squashed orange juice most mornings very Delisious!!! I can't believe the oranges are grown in the grounds. Wifi was fast and on point, made many calls and checked emails with no problems. This is a place that I woulde defo come back too. Transfer from and to the airport arranged by them, one of them men even showed us around the local area (a few times during our short stay- at no cost).
If your looking for a place that is calm and clean with really nice people (staff included) and are on a budget this ticks all the boxes and so much more. Thank you very much for a wonderful holiday -

LondonA garden oasis
Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I spent a week at Legassie Gardens and had a wonderful time in this garden oasis with its rootsy feel and laid back ambience.I loved the beautiful garden in which the apartment was set and also the magnificent view from our balcony which was on the top floor and presented a panorama spanning the hills on the horizon and the roof tops of the town nearby. Being keen on my food I was really happy to be served a healthy breakfast, including fresh juice from local fruits, each morning. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with nice touches like a complimentary bowl of fruit upon arrival. A major positive of the locality where Legassie Gardens is situated is the low incidence of moquitos compared to more densely populated areas in the capital accra. The staff were very helpful and the owners, Nana Kwame and Jacinta, were the perfect hosts. I will definitely be visiting again. Kto

London, UKExcellent service and location for the price!
Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This is a lovely oasis within easy reach from accra and the airport. When I was met at the airport by Nana Kwame and his Jeep- I knew I had booked the right place. He was friendly and helpful and a minefield of information about Ghana and places of interest. I stayed for one week in a two bedroom apartment. It was spacious, and clean with its own terrace overlooking the lush gardens and vegetarian cafe.
We had great views of the hills and saw and heard the local wildlife. The light and airy apartments are well thought out; comfy beds, spacious wardrobes, and high ceilings that keep things cool. It had a separate spacious kitchen complete with kitchenware so all you needed to do was take a trip to the supermarket or local stalls.
There is a nice relaxed vibe here, and the staff went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I really liked that they could bring breakfast to my terrace!

LondonOasis of clean and green in accra!!!
Left on 04/08/2012 for a stay in October 2011
I felt like had escaped to a garden, and it didn't really feel like accra at all! But I could get round easily, just fine, and went to centre of town often, just walked down the hill and onto a main road with all the buses, taxis etc. This place is just really pretty, the apartment was cosy, clean and comfortable. The staff were great, always around to help, they live 'on-site' down the bottom I think. I still always felt private and safe. I did cook in my little kitchen, which was great, especially for eating what I was familiar with, and snacking. I plan to come again, couldn't find anywhere like this while was here, at least not for such a budget price! When the motorways round here are finished I guess they will put up their prices. For now, it's a steal!

atl, usaTrue african Experience at Excellent Prices
Left on 05/04/2011 for a stay in November 2010
If you are looking for an authentic african experience and you are on a budget , this is the perfect resort.
The accomdations are clean , relaxed and within a safe environment. The eco-friendly foliage provides the feeling of living within a garden and the on site restaurant provides an delicious Vegan variety of foods that combines well with any requested authentic african dishes..
The hosts are very helpful with arranging any day trips that you need or any business advise required to complete your stay...
With a private kitchen , you also have the option to prepare your own foods as you like...The mixture between a private stay and arranged trips within the village makes it a realistic slice of africa for the average Westerner.
