Just returned from a 7 night stay at Laga Lodge. It was purely and simply a fishing holiday and, at times, we had some excellent fishing. The icing on the cake was, however, the quality of the accommodation and how helpful and welcoming andy and alison were.

Stayed here in 2011 and it was superb. The boat made all the difference. My husband fished and I took photographs and we both really enjoyed it.

We all had a really fantastic time staying for the week in Laga Lodge. It was truly superb. This holiday had to be our best family fishing holiday ever. We have to give a very special thank you to andy, Allison, Tom, Graeme et al and to Tag, Spider and Hendrix (the dogs) for making our stay so pleasurable. Lucy our Labrador is missing all the attention from her doggy friends. The location is spectacular, the scenery is just magical and Laga lodge is a really cosy and comfortable place to stay with all the home comforts you could ever need. The fishing on Loch Sunnart was absolutely superb. The pioneer boats are superb to fish from even in a choppy sea, exceptionally well equipped with everything you might need when out on the water, from safety equipment to deep water anchor. We also had 2 truly fantastic days fishing from Laurenca II with Graeme and Tom (Graeme next year we will get that Skate). The soup that andy makes for the boat trips on Laurenca is truly delightful. If only I could get the recipe! The wildlife is also amazing from seeing the herons, eagles, Porpoises swimming right beside the pioneer boat and the otters running along the shore beside the pontoon - a truly spectacular sight. We cannot wait to return to Laga lodge next year. We loved the holiday so much that I booked it before we left. Robert has never stopped talking about his week’s holiday. It was definitely a very memorable week. Alasdair, Liz, Robert, (Mary) and Lucy woof woof.

The highest compliment I could ever offer anyone on Trip advisor is by writing a review on Trip advisor. As someone who spends his life in 5* hotels around the world I genuinely hate Trip advisor, people giving 1* because the toilet paper was pink and not White or the pillow didn't use Siberian duck down plucked from a live duck by a blind midget.
However, and this is a big however, I feel that the Jackson Family who own and run Laga Lodge deserve a level of praise I have never offered anyone else. Booking this holiday as a 3 generation family trip away to say we worried about the weather, the location, the accommodation etc etc for months was an understatement. Should we have gone to america, why weren't we going back to Italy? But did I need to worry, never once. The Jackson 5 are all alive and well and offering the most wonderful holidays possible in Scotland. Andy, Alison, Sue, Tom and Graham have just delivered to the McGrath 6 everything we dreamed of and more. Such a knowledgeable family that they can answer and deal with any of the questions you have but never feel imposing. If you want something they seen to be there but if you're happy on your own they are nowhere to be seen. Basically they have the ability to be the perfect hosts without trying, something so rare in the hospitality arena. So how far would I recommend this holiday, simple really, we'll all be returning next year this time for 2 weeks. Thanks guys for everything, we truly could not have had a better week.
P.S - not to forget the four legged Jackson family, Tag, Spider and Hendrix, my daughter misses you already! -

Laga Lodge is nestled directly on the shores Laga Bay, Loch Sunart which is undoubtably one of the most beautiful and tranquil place on this planet. This area has an abundance of rare wildlife as well as superb sea angling opportunities.
The Lodge itself offers stunning views over the Loch and is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with all mod cons. Very well equipped, also describes the Pioneer boat that comes with the rental, complete with all safety gear and electronics giving a first class safe platform for cruising or angling in the loch.
The ardnamurchan peninsula certainly gives the impression of remoteness, yet it is not isolated being an easy drive from Fort William with it's shops and supermarkets.Fort William is the ideal place shop for supplies on the way to Laga.
My first visit to Laga was in august 2010 and the famous Scottish midges were not a problem. We came back in November 2010 to superb autumn scenery and the wintry conditions were also not a problem. We will be back in October 2011 hoping that to catch a monster fish will not be a problem!
Andy and alison and family are neighbours and are always on hand for help and advice should you need it, but never in your face if you don't
Laga Lodge is a place that we will come back and back to it offers us as anglers tremendous opportunities and challenges. Aside from the angling, Ardnamurchan offers a wealth of other pursuits and interests. Each time we come here with things to do and each time we seem to leave needing to do more
If you only do this once, do it!

This was a fishing holiday for my adult son and nephew, my elderly father and myself. The location and facilities are superb . Andrew and his family were welcoming and always go that extra mile to ensure that we had everything that we needed. That included a self drive boat , a facility that made this a very enjoyable and cost effective fishing holiday.

We have stayed here 4 times, bringing our own boat. The Jackson family have become good friends over that period. They have always been helpful with launching, mooring and recovery of the boat, and with advice and help with the little things that happen with boats. We will return.

Laga lodge has it all, for every member of the family, including our dog. We had wonderful day trips out on the boat and were even lucky enough to see more than one basking shark, breaching! It was more like staying with good friends who couldn't do enough for you.
