Apartment for 2 - 5 persons with 2 bedrooms, combination kitchen and living area, bathroom, toilet and balcony. The interior was completely renovated in 2011. Free Wi-Fi.
Great starting point for hiking in the Karwendel or Rofan Mountains, skiing at Christlum Mountain or cross country in the vallies around Achensee, the largest mountain lake in Tyrol.
Only 1 hour drive from Innsbruck, 2 hours from Salzburg and 1,5 hour from Munich.
Certified ski-instructor in house.

All keen hill and mountain walkers, hikers and climbers are certainly at the right address here in the Achensee Region with 450 km of well looked after and sign-posted trails - from gentle hill walking to adventurous mountain hiking - reaching around 2.500 m above sea-level, through beautiful unspoiled nature trails, through valleys or along the edge of the lake - a walking holiday certainly to be remembered!
With this all in mind, one knows why the Achensee Region is Tyrols Sport and Vital Park. The lake Achensee imbedded between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains is Tyrols largest lake and with its wide range of walks and fascinating Alpine scenery can be presented as a holiday paradise! Providing challenges to suit all ages, tastes and abilities; whether gentle walks along the lakeside or adventurous climbing, the Achensee has the appropriate routes. The region has two cable-cars to make the ascend into the mountains easier – the Rofan cable car and the Karwendel cable car – both giving fantastic views of the below lying, crystal clear lake Achensee.
The area surrounding the Karwendel Nature Park, the largest nature reserve in the north Alps, is because of its simple beauty, well known throughout the Alps and even further afield as a popular hiking and biking area with its wide open nearly endless routes! A unique combination between sailing and walking can be completed on the Achensee. First of all, the idyllic hike along the west side of the lake to the “Gaisalm” mountain hut, which can be continued by a boat journey over the lake to the other end or to one of the villages surrounding the lake. Of course, this can be done in the opposite direction! The west side of the lake can only be made on foot and the “Gaisalm” can only be approached by foot or by ship! A unique hike - and certainly an unforgettable one.

The rooms are nice and clean.
They have been a little bid cold, because the heating was not as hot as it should be.
The rooms have been quiet. The hosts are very nice and helpful.
There is no water-cooker. There is a dishwasher and a shower. There is a ski-room in the basement, where you can store your skis and shoes. There is a shop in the same house, where you can buy everything you need during your stay. All in all a very pleasant stay. -

About ten years we visit and stay at Haus Karoline.The period explains how we think about the stay of our winterholidays and why we come back every year. The renovation of the accommodation is a great progress and above all the wireless internet.
If it's possible an extension of TV choices, like Eurosport or Dutch television, would be welcome.

The location is excellent.Skilifts are close by.

We stayed in a perfect condo, with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, seperate toilet and living/kitchen.
You get a great workout with stairclimbing, but it is worth it! The view is also great. It's ideal that it is above a supermarket. Helene Kern is a very nice lady who's main worry is, that you have a nice holiday, she will do anything for that.

We stayed in these apartments in September. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and the apartment one of the best I've stayed. The apartment is spacious, recently renovated, so the all equipment is new and you will find a fully equipped kitchen. The view from the balconies is amazing. The area is quiet and in the same building you will find a supermarket for your shopping needs. There is a bus station just a few steps away of the building. I can't wait to come back...

Haus Karoline is the perfect base for walking, running and biking in the beautiful area of achensee. The newly renovated apartment was nice, spacious and very clean. The Kern family is very helpful in recommending trips in the area, etc. It is very convenient with the small supermarket on the ground floor. The view from the apartment is absolutely wonderful; it is a bliss to look out the windows in the morning.

Our Family (2 parents and 4 children from 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2000)has spent already six times (summers of 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011 their holidays at Haus Karoline in achenkirch. The available appartment is nice and clean, even as comfortable with nice kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms and certainly spacey enough for a famility with 4 upgrowing children. Haus Karoline is situated at a very quite place in achenkirch though at walking distance to the mountains as well as to the lake.Tourists who stay at Haus Karoline get bus tickets for free during their stay. During all the summer holidays that we stayed at Haus Karoline at the achensee, we took the "Erlebniskarte" for the whole famliy; this card gives you during one week unlimited acces to the boats on the lake, the steam train, the lifts at Maurach and Pertisau which bring you to the mountains. All above mentioned qualities of the location make us decide to return always back to Haus Karoline.
