Town: In the Domesday Book, Addingham is referred to as “Ediham”, or “Home of Edi” – the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. This historic village is located between Ilkley and Skipton and sits snugly in the valley of the River Wharfe, only three miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. A corn mill near where High Mills is today was also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1315, and over from the river is a weir, one of the most ancient medieval constructions in the village. Scenic Bolton Abbey is close by, and visitors shouldn’t leave Addingham without taking a picturesque stroll along the river to the “Strid”. Today Addingham is vibrant and thriving local community surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts little shops, fine pubs serving wonderful ales and a rather pleasing golf course.Read more

The cottage was well located in a residential area of addingham which was well placed to travel to Ilkley and the moor, Skipton and the dales and Harrogate and surrounding countryside. All amenities were provided-good cooking facilities, very comfortable living room with large T.V and books and Dvd's provided. Bed was very comfortable King size-warm and cosy and nice bathroom and shower. Parking space in front was convenient. Accommodation clean and very well maintained and homely but providing a place for us to relax and feel at home.. Just right for holiday for two of us.

The week was a disaster weather wise but we were more than satisfied with the cottage. Very clean and everything you could wish for with a very large and comfortable bed. This cottage is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area with a good variety of walks. Thank you Vivien and andrew for a lovely welcome and looking forward to seeing you both in March...Maureen and Tom
