      Even better than anticipated

Left on 09/01/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We are delighted to have found a place that is even better than in the description and online photos.

Freshly renovated, spotlessly clean, cleverly planned, the cottage meets every need: a thoughtfully supplied kitchen, comfortable beds, a cozy living room complete with rocking chairs and a nice leather couch, and an enclosed sun porch with a plush leather armchair perfect for reading.

Everything comes with a locally made story, too. The kitchen cabinets - from a craftsman just down the road in addison. Dining set and TV hutch - Amish made. Even the interior doors are handmade, just to the west in Ohio.

Fernwalk is only a short drive from Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, and Beth, as well as David and Kitty from the Hartzell House B&B; next door, seem to have channeled some of Wright's creative genius in designing and decorating Fernwalk. They've created a beautiful haven.

We came to ride the gap Rail Trail, but once there discovered that three nights were not nearly long enough to properly explore the area. Needless to say, we look forward to our next visit.

      Elegant comfort

Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I recently stayed at the Hartzell House B&B;, and several of my family members stayed at Fernwalk next door. We spent much of our time together at Fernwalk; while the Hartzell B&B; is gorgeous in itself, it was nice to have the comforts of a house all to ourselves. Fernwalk has been beautifully renovated. The inside is exquisitely finished & decorated, with brand new wood floors, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and a state-of-the-art kitchen and bathrooms. The owner has obviously gone to great lengths decorating the place and has included an extensive library. There is also a detailed binder full of information on local activities, hikes, restaurants and anything else you could possibly need. We had a wonderful time gathered in front of the fireplace and cooking and enjoying meals in the wonderful kitchen and dining area. Our elderly relatives were very comfortable at Fernwalk; they didn't seem to want to leave! I highly recommend Fernwalk and plan on returning soon.
