I am not a frequent review writer but once in a while where credit is due I will praise. Langman cottage is a fantastic place to stay, it's like home from home.There is not much more that we can add to all the previous reviews but would like to thank Sue and Matt for being so accommodating,helpful and flexible.
My partner and I have arrived on a late flight and were welcomed by Sue and felt at home the minute we stepped into their cottage. It was pristinely clean, lovely touches like fresh flowers and chocolates were left for us as well as a hamper with essentials for the first few days of our stay, including a chilled bottle of wine! I asked Sue if by any chance there were bikes that we could use but she said no. Totally to our surprise we got email from Matt saying that he will drop off two bikes for our use the next morning.
We have totally enjoyed all the house facilities, good internet, bbq and fully equipped kitchen. The location was just ideal for us, 20 min to the beach and to our relatives, one hour away from Barossa Valley. All the necessary shops and restaurants are just minutes away.
Originally we booked the cottage for 5 nights, we went away and then decided to spend our last days in adelaide in Langman cottage. It says a lot as we don't tend to stay in the same place twice. But it takes a special place for us to return. We can not recommend this place highly enough.

We would like to Thank Matt and Sue for the nice, clean Cottage. We felt from the first moment that we are at home. The fridge was full of things which is a very good idea for those (like us) who are coming from overseas on a long fight. The area is so quiet and opposite there is a nice park. It is very close to adelaide CBD (about 10 minutes by car). You will find any kind of information you need ( Food, Taxis, Places of interest, Travel, Reading books, etc..). We will definetly consider it for our next trip, and we will recommend it to our friends. Thank you Matt and Sue. Ahsan and Family.

My husband, myself, our daughter, son-in-law and their 5 month old daughter stayed at Langman for 3 nights and felt at home from the moment we opened the back gate with a neat garden with with entertaining area. On entering the very clean cottage we found cupboards and fridge stocked with lots of goodies and on the dining table was a bowl of fruit and a hamper with lots of surprises - and no account to fill in to be paid on check out!!! The cottage is a credit to Matt and Sue. Thank you - we would certainly recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Found this fabulous cottage on tripadvisor and have to say that on arrival, we were totally in awe of the facilities on offer.
First of all, can we say a huge thank you to Matt for meeting us at the airport, taking us to our car rental place and then leading us through adelaide to this wonderful cottage.
It's difficult to impress how good this place is without making it appear to sound over the top, but the owners have really thought of everything you would need to enjoy your holiday. It is particularly helpful to over-seas travellers (like us from England) since you would normally have to visit the local supermarket and get all the things like salt, pepper, butter, sugar, coffee, olive oil, cereals, bread, milk, OJ etc. Matt very kindly provides all of this and much, much more.
The local attractions are great too, such as the Linear Park Trail which you can join right across the road, and the tourist attractions such as Cleland Wildlife Park and Harndorf (a fabulous old German town) are an absolute must see.
On Labour Day we particularly enjoyed the Bay to Birdwood vintage car and bike run and the motor museum at Birdwood.
All in all we had a fantastic week at the Langman and if we can we would love a return trip. Thanks Matt for a lovely stay!

Upon our arrival we found a welcome pack that puts most 5 star hotels to shame, the house was very comfortable and suited us perfectly. I doubt very much that there is anything else in adeladie that can match it in terms of price for this level of comfort.

It was our second stay in Langman in two years. We did enjoy it as much as the first one in spite of the weather a bit cooler... Langman cottage has very good heating facilities anyway... Nice walks along the river...Parkland across the road to play with the kids...It 's like a second home...We 'll come back again...

This cottage was perfect for our stay. All the little touches where greatly appreciated and made the stay more welcoming! Felt like a home away from home. The WiFi, was another great touch that was really appreciated, and often overlooked by larger establishments. I Great location, close to shops with a supermarket in walking distance and the city by car.. Enjoyed our visit and looking forward to staying again soon!

We arrived to a warm house on a chilly, winterish adelaide day. Matt had turned on the heat so the house felt cozy and ready to settle into. He had also put a bottle a wine in the fridge and a basket of local treats on the table.
He is a great host--he doesn't intrude but if you need something, he is there. The toaster died while we were there. I sent an email to Matt and we had a new one within a few hours.
I enjoy staying in the Langman Cottage very much. It is quiet, convenient to the city and the hills, and there are shops, bakeries and restaurants nearby. -

This little house was perfect for our stay. Immaculate, well provisioned, roomy, and in a great location. Matt has provided everything you need for a short or long stay; we felt like we were in our own home. We cooked, we relaxed, we used the WiFi, I took walks in the nearby Linear Park along the River (which goes for miles!), we watched birds in the back yard and Bbq'd, we watched movies, washed clothes... Great location, close to shops, the city (we have a car). Fast food, little shops, and grocery nearby. Quiet location, large park across street. Roomy kitchen with everything you would need. Comfy family room, TV etc. Truly could not have asked for more. Enjoyed our visit to adelaide a great deal.

I stayed at Langman during the 2012 Tour Down Under.
Check-in was very personable and a great follow up to the effortless and professional deposit process I went through months earlier. The owners of the property are very friendly and nothing appears to be too much trouble.
The property is a short cycle from adelaide city by bike path or on the typically quiet adelaide main roads. Excellent for my trip to Tour Down Under. I was able to avoid traffic going to the stages each day and the main road nearby is the road that was actually used for the Bupa Challenge tour.
Anyway, we had a scorcher this year. 41 degrees and the property handles the summer heat very well. There is a nice park across the road and the aircon works great.
A supermarket is close, as is a McDonalds.
This property is an excellent base for travelers with their own transport. The parking is adequate and the car can be kept in shade for most of the day. The rear yard is also nice to relax in.
While the house is quite small it is perfect for a couple just wanting to get away and enjoy adelaide.

When we arrived at the Langman cove we were pleased that Mike and his mother left some presents under the christmas tree and chocolate on the beds. That was a real nice welkom. The house is great for families to stay in, everything is provided perfectly, even a high speed WiFi internet connection.
The drive to the city centre took us about 25 minutes and to the beaches about 45 minutes. -

This is my second time staying at the Langman cottage, and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time. Matt met me there to hand off the keys, and he thoughtfully left some snacks, a few breakfast items, and even a bottle of South australian wine.
The house is comfortable so that it's easy to feel at home. The location is also great: close to the Torrens River bike/walking trail, Woolies, even a winery. And the city is just a few kilometers away.
This is a great place and Matt and his Mum are wonderful, making the experience entirely enjoyable. -

Langman is clean, comfortable with neat gardens and a nice outdoor entertaining area. The queensize bed was very comfy, and there was plenty of cupboard space. A big plus is the comfortable lounge suite in the living area. Matt provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
The cottage is situated in perfect surrounds - parklands with walking and bike path and shops and public transport nearby.
Check in and communication with Matt was excellent too. We hope to stay here again in the future. Nothing we could fault.

A quiet area close to a well maintained park/nature reserve/linear trail featuring playgronds for the children. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy access to main highways across adelaide. A few minutes walk from Klemzig Interchange with fast transport to the city centre.
Clean and well maintained with well equipped kitchen and utility room, comfortable beds and chairs and a very effective fire which was most welcome in winter. Very tidy and spacious rear garden. We were well taken care of despite our lack of communication in the weeks before we arrived, refund of deposit was prompt with no quibbles. Plenty of books, tourist guides and leaflets. The contents of the welcome pack were well thought out and got me addicted to Fru-chocs. The only thing we didn't really enjoy was the coldness of the toilet first thing on a winters morning :) . -

Thanks Matt & Jules, we only arrived home today after travelling in NT for 3 weeks. We loved every minute of adelaide, very friendly people. Langman was just the place for us, convenient to transport and shops and yet away from the city a bit. Warm and cosy and lots of little touches appreciated, i.e.choccies and first breakfast supplies. Also very kind to pick us up and drop us at airport. All in all, a great stay, thanks.

This is the second time that we stayed at the property in Adelaide. It it truly a fantastic place to stay as it is always very clean and is a home away from home. It is situated very close to all of the shops and has a great park across the road. I can honestly not fault the place and highly recommend it.

I was met at the house by Matt's Mum, Sue, who showed me around the house and gave me her phone number in case I had questions or problems (Matt was away for the first week that I was there). The house is fully equipped so that you can cook, hang out, and relax as if at home. Nice patio in the backyard. There's a grocery store and bakery within blocks of the house, and across the street is a park and access to the Torrens River biking/walking trail.
When Matt returned from his trip, he checked in with me to make sure everything was ok.
The only drawback is that there is a double bed in the main bedroom--would be snug for a couple.

We recently stayed at the Langman Cottage and really enjoyed our stay there. As we were staying in adelaide for 9 days we did not want to be stuck in a hotel and found the cottage on the internet. It is truly a home away from home and has everything you need including very friendly and helpful hosts. We will definately be staying there again and would definately recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in adelaide.

We spent our first week in Adelaide in this lovely cottage with character, perfect for a family of four. The house had everything we needed and more, and the garden was perfect with lots of outdoor space, bigger than you'd think from the photos. We were able to have friends round easily for a barbeque. The park across the road was great for the kids to play ball, etc. There was a little shopping centre with everything you'd need about half a km away. Matt and Sue were lovely and very helpful, and made sure our stay was comfortable in every way. The icing on the cake was the birthday present and Happy Birthday banners that they left for our son's 7th Birthday, a nice touch which was greatly appreciated. We would certainly consider staying her again if we return to Adelaide. Thanks guys!

We really enjoyed our stay at Langman Grove. The house is even nicer than the photos & has everything a family could need. Great garden for bbq's and for the kids to run around. A lovely plus is the edible goodies that are waiting on arrival - even chocolates on the pillows : ) The O-bahn station is only a short walk through the park so good for location too. Wonderful hosts & would definitely recommend to people visiting adelaide.

We were performing at the Adelaide Fringe so needed somewhere confortable to relax and alos a base to work from.
Was ideal for that - comfy and relaxing. Great internet connection. Went down once but MAt came and fixed very quickly.
Would definitely reccomend the space.

I must admit we were suspicious about whether this accommodation was genuine because the reports seemed too good to be true. Rest assured though it is absolutely fine. The owner was very willing to resolve questions we had, and very efficient with the whole booking. I would even say that some of the pictures do not do it justice, as it seemed bigger than we imagined. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet place to stay this is for you !!!

We received a splendid welcome from our hosts who left sufficient provisions for our first breakfast and also decorated a lovely Christmas tree with a gift beneath. It was so good to have spacious accommodation after staying in hotel rooms. The large secluded garden was an added bonus and the location suited us perfectly.

Traveled from Texas for my son's graduation (MA Maritime Archaeology) from Flinders University. Visited once before and spent so much on hotels. Decided to try my luck with a vacation rental. Fantastic decision. This place is a cute cottage with beautiful English garden in front and back. Wireless internet, A/C, washing machine, easy room for 4. My son stayed with me some of the time during my 2 week stay. Alone and feeling extremely safe the rest of the time. Easy drive to CBD. Easy to find the way to Victor Harbour (south shore), shopping, etc. Matt and Sue are great inn keepers. Couldn't figure out how to start the oven. Sue was knocking on the door in 10 minutes to show us the ropes. Tons of provisions left for us. If I ever visit this area again, this is where I would stay.

Really welcoming people with a food pack of essentials on arrival. Cottage is cosy but well equipped. We actually stayed for quite some time and have found the cottage very comfortable. Good sized garden for the children to play in plus a large green directly opposite. Easy distance into central adelaide or a lovely walk by the river.

I generally am wary of internet bookings...But when we reached adelaide and found Matt at the door at 7.30am to receive my perception changed completely. The nicest man to meet and the best house to live in. We had a problem with the washing machine and promptly his mother was there to solve it even if she was 30 min away. The next day we had a problem with the Wi Fi and Matt was at the door by 8 am to take care of it. He even went out of his way to take me shopping for some stuff as we did not know the area yet and then only did he head out to work. The place is awesome and very very comfy...Everything that you would need in your home is there for you to make you feel welcome. Even the 1st breakfast is ready when you move in.
There are extra supplies of bulbs, washing powder, dish washing liquid, water can, coffee, tea and sugar. The beds are super comfortable and there is extras of everything in case you need. The bus stop is right outside the house and the super market is a 10 min walk with Macdonalds and a nice Italian bakery.
All in all a super stay and we have asked Matt if he will rent us the place again for 6 months if need be. I recommened everyone on a holiday to adelaide stay here and forget your worries... "A Home away From Home".

Langman is by far one of the best vacation rentals my family and I have stayed at. Matt and Sue were great, they prempted and took care of every thing we could possibly need during our two week stay. It is a great place for a family with kids as well as for people on business. Its clean, well equipped and most importantly feels like a home away from home. Matt was always thorough, extremely helpful, kind , went out of his way to make us comfortable. responded promptly and immediately and always on time for any requests we have had, no matter how random they may have been. My family enjoyed staying at Langman and my kids still talk about the great time they had. It was all we had hoped of and I highly recommend this place to everyone.
It really has everything you would need in a home. It should be renamed as vacation home, instead of vacation rental, cause thats how we really felt. If you want to feel at home on a vacation, make sure you stay at Langman. This place goes down on our families list of favorite places to stay on a holiday. We very much enjoyed our stay in adelaide at Langman. Langman is a wonderful cottage conveniently located for day trips to the adelaide Hills, the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale, as well as other tourist destinations in the adelaide area. The cottage is a short walk to the River Torrens Linear Park which is a great place for walking, running or cycling--on the trail it is about 12 km to the hills or to the CBD. We would definitely stay at Langman again.

My family and I did really enjoy our stay in Adelaide. Matt and his mum were really helpful.The place in Langman street was really nice and well situated. The weather was very good (no extra charges) so we did have fun in the park across the street and in the garden with the bbq. Internet was available which is very convenient.
Dealing with Matt over the Internet was very easy with good and quick answers.
So we all decided we would go back there no worries.

I'm so glad that I went for this vacation rental rather than an anonymous hotel. Matt was prompt and courteous in his dealings with me, responding to my queries, and made some excellent suggestions for things to do and how to get around in Adelaide.
The home is a delight: a good-sized, 2-bed property with room to stretch out, a nice kitchen and bathroom, and even a washing machine (if you need it). There's also a lovely back garden with plenty of bird life. The house faces a park out the front and is linked to the River Torrens Linear Park.
If you don't have a car, the property's location makes it easy to get to the city centre with buses passing regularly. At the same time, you can be into the Adelaide Hills District within minutes for easy access to some classic historic towns and the wine country.
I very much enjoyed staying here and it certainly enhanced my stay in Adelaide. The location was ideal for me, I enjoyed staying in a house (rather than a hotel) and the long-stay represented good value for money. Matt is also a ripper Aussie to deal with and my deposit was returned promptly (before I arrived home!) -- so, no worries, mate. There were no negatives for me...
If I return to Adelaide (and I hope I do), Langman will be top of my list for a repeat stay. I thoroughly recommend Matt and his house.Response from Matt Pike - 05/04/2010
