Private, last house on road, waterfront, airy, commanding views.....on White Lake in hamlet of Woodgate, Town of Forestport, Oneida County.
Take advantage of our Adirondack retreat, where you will find;
--walls and ceilings of rough hewn cedar and pine;
--2 stories of glass facing the lake, bringing it inside the 2 story main living area;
--fabulous and sweeping views of the lake from inside and out;
--a location on the quieter west side of the main body of the lake, not a small bay;
--end-of-the-road location privacy, meaning no traffic or cars driving by... NOTE--Google Map is in error--Hunt Road is two dead ends separated by 500' of woods, not a loop;
--the cleanliness of a new Kraftmaid hickory kitchen and bath;
--a degree of privacy and woods access that you won't find elsewhere;
--4 watercraft available at the dock (2 kayaks, canoe, and jonboat).
All this on a lake that is significantly warmer and quieter than the larger lakes to the north.
Our location is one of the finest and quietest on the lake, far away from Route 28, on the west side of the lake. Our setting is at the end of a 3/4 mile private road. We are the last house. No road, no traffic, no one driving by. Long walks and jogs on traffic free roads are easy.
Our interior is all glass and wood. Done in rough hewn cedar and pine, our living room, dining room and kitchen share a magnificent and commanding view of the lake, with a soaring wood ceiling reaching 24' at its peak. Our kitchen features a huge serving island and Whirlpool appliances. Note the photo depicting what the cook sees. Stand at our smooth glass cooktop warming your meal, your tea, coffee or hot chocolate and raise your head to stare at acres of sparkling water across the widest part of the the lake and the postcard of colorful boathouses across the lake, or the boats and wakes or kayakers heading through the island channels even further away.
Enjoy the peacefulness of a lake which has no transient boat traffic, unlike the Fulton Chain of numbered lakes, Raquette or Big Moose. Our lake launch is private to the 150 homeowners on and about the lake and while you may use it, strangers cannot. That means you will not hear boats at all during the spring, fall and summer weekdays, and usually not more than half dozen at any one time spread far and wide on the lake during a summer weekend. That makes the swimming and fishing more pleasant, and the kayaking wonderful.
And unlike those larger lakes, White Lake's smaller size means much warmer summer water. Expect it to be in the 70s all summer, sometimes touching 80 degrees.
If you like the water, you will love our overwater deck. Adjacent to our boathouse and offering the choice to sit in the warm southern breeze or protected from any colder northern breeze, with the boathouse on the north side, our 100' of lakefront forms a protected gentle cove with great views, a swim ladder to the deck/dock, and swim steps to the land. On our deck you will find, for your use:
---our Osage canoe;
---our 14' Gamefisher fishing johnboat.
Water toys are there for your use, and the lake is stocked yearly with trout, and has an abundance of perch, bass, and other species.
If you want to bring your own boat, our dock is set up for it--well padded, with tie downs for you to use. If you like to water ski, our location and set up is ideal. With large Russell Island able to be fully encircled, a long peninsula guarding the second lake portion of White Lake, and several navigable bays,
The bedroom is a cozy cedar lined room across the hall from the bathroom--which feature Kraftmaid hickory, Corian, and a full bathtub.
Second floor sleeping loft, accessed via a spiral staircase from the main living area.
Do you like to go for walks? The mile walk out to the main road (Little Long Lake Road) is peaceful and full of wild turkeys and deer--level and perfect for jogging or walking. Once there, you can jog or walk for miles on quiet level roads along Little Long Lake Road or Round Lake Road. Typically we leave a pair of mountain bikes there to try if you want a change of pace. Whether its your morning coffee or tea on our sun drenched dock, or a morning kayak in the dewy early morning fog, or a walk on the private gravel road, your mornings will be heaven, and whether its a dusky walk on the road, or a s'mores roast in our firepit clearing in the woods, surrounded by Adirondack chairs, you will be so relaxed in the evening.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR 6 MONTH HOME--A LARGE ONE BEDROOM LAKEFRONT WITH SLEEPING LOFT WITH BUILT-INS FOR SLEEPING--SUITABLE FOR A SINGLE FAMILY OF UP TO 6, OR COUPLE(S). ALSO, WE DO NOT USE THE AVAILABILITY CALENDAR--CHECK WITH OWNER.Read more
