The Schroon Lake Retreat is a luxurious executive retreat overlooking beautiful Schroon Lake and the Adirondack High Peaks. Built for the discerning vacationeer, you will find the flavor of the Adirondacks in the tasteful decor and thoughtful layout. You will find breathtaking views from virtually every room in the house. From the wall of windows in massive open living room, to every bathroom, you can take in the Adirondack splendor. This house is perfect for groups of friends or families to vacation together.

Relax by the stone fireplace in the living room. Enjoy creating a meal in the decked-out gourmet kitchen, with double ove...ns, 4 burners, built in grill and griddle. You will find a wine refrigerator in the wet bar area to keep your beverages cold.

The screen room off the kitchen brings the outdoors in and is perfect for candlelight dining. The huge wrap-around lake-side deck provides endless opportunities to take in the view, soak up some sun, barbecue on the gas grill, and dine under the sun/stars.

We offer a massive game room, complete with a pool table, bumper pool table, darts, foosball, and a poker table. You'll find a plethora of board games and puzzles for young and adult alike. And of course, a wall of windows overlooking the lake and high peaks!

With the open living room and game room providing space and activities for your group, you will find quiet solitude in each of the 4 bedrooms. Each bedrooms offers it's own private deck with adirondack deck chairs overlooking the lake and mountains. Quietly sip your morning coffee while watching the steam burn off the lake and the sun rise over the hills...

You will find a myriad of year-round activities just outside your door. We have a large yard and provide lawn toys - croquet, frisbee, whiffle ball, etc. You will find a rustic fire pit, complete with firewood for those nighttime s'more cravings.

We are part of one of the most prestigious associations on Schroon Lake. You will have full access to one of the largest sandy beaches on the lake. This beach is perfect for families - the roped-off swimming area is soft sand and shallow (1-2 ft) and extends far off the shore. The kids can frolic in the water safely while parents relax on the shore. We have a nice picnic area on the beach with picnic tables and charcoal grills and an outdoor fireplace. You'll find a bath house and bathrooms for your use, and we have a large canoe for you to paddle around the lake. There is a beach volleyball net set up, and you can find a group to join just about any sunny day - the teens (and adults) love it.

The association has 2 beautiful tennis courts, a basketball court and a lovely playground - all for you to enjoy. We provide all the equipment you need - volleyball, basketball, tennis rackets and balls, and we even provide beach chairs for your use.

Winter activities include cross-country skiing right outside your door. Gore Mountain Ski Resort is just 25 minutes away - in fact you can see the slopes of Gore as you look south down the lake. Whiteface and Lake Placid are just 50 minutes north. We partner with both mountains to provide multi-day lift ticket discounts for our guests - about 15% discount off the regular rates.

Autumn leaf peeping is phenomenal! Whether you are taking the the view from the house, or hiking one of the many local trails, you won't be disappointed.

We provide a library of information on local activities and attractions - you won't run out of things to do. If you need a break from swimming, skiing, hiking or any of the many outdoor activities, you can take a stroll through the town of Schroon and be a tourist for awhile. Join in on one of the many festivals at the town beach. Take a tour of the Adirondack Museum or the Adirondack wildlife center. Make the 30-minute trip to 6-Flags Great Escape, or the Lake George outlet shopping areas. There are many quality golf courses close by, so don't forget your clubs.

1.5 hrs. from Albany, NY
30 mins from Lake George
3.5 hrs. from NYC area
2.5 hrs from Eastern upstate

Directions from Albany and points North & South:
Take I-87 to Exit 26, Pottersville.
Take left at exit offramp toward Valero gas station. Drive past the station to Route 9.
Take a right on Route 9 (Black Bear Restaurant is on your right).
Head North, bear right at old Wells House Hotel at “V” in road. (You will see a sign for Schroon Lake).
Follow Route 9 approximately ½ mile to Glendale Road. (You will see signs for Camp Wakonda and Word of Life Institute)
Turn Right onto Glendale and proceed to East Shore Drive (about 1 mile)
Turn Left onto East Shore Drive (just past the parking lot for the South end boat launch)
Drive 4 miles on East Shore Drive to Adirondack Lodges Road/Mill Creek Road.
Right turn into the Lodges - follow main road past the townhouse units and proceed up the hill to Mill Creek Road
Mill Creek Road forms a loop, keep right and you'll see the cedar and stone
sided house “with the view” about 1/3 mile on your right.
There is a post at the corner of the property with the address "172"
