CambridgeA Wonderful Experience in a Fabulous House
Left on 12/30/2012 for a stay in December 2012
We booked this lovely house not really knowing what to expect. Owned by a very friendly and helpful English couple. At first it was a bit of a shock, not like the UK at all. Living in a Moroccan village amongst the local people, seeing how they live and work. A wonderful insight, at times shocking but never boring. Drive up a dusty street with small shops, carpenters, mechanics, brick makers, butchers, bakers. Spectacular views of mountains while you sunbathe on your private terrace seeing another world. The neighbouring ladies pass daily with their goats always happy to have a chat (French is their second language but sign language is always fun). Sunshine and lots of beaches, many with excellent surfing. The atlas Mountains, lovely restaurants, a different way of living that makes you think. We will not forget our lovely holiday, but remember this is not a holiday resort, it is a working Moroccan village and we feel honoured to have been a part of it. If you want to experience something different book this lovely, well appointed house. We hired a car but taxis are plentiful and fairly cheap. Not sure if there was wifi.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed it and hope you will return sometime. We want people to experience true Morocco. You are right this is not a tourist location!, but Agadir is not far should guests wish to visit a tourist area. There is no WIFI at present but is on our 'to do' list

Woking, United KingdomNice house, shame about the location
Left on 09/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Whilst the house is furnished to a very high standard the location leaves plenty to be desired! The village of auorir is very poor and certainly not a place to recommend as a typical village in Morroco. The local restaurants are very poor but are cheap. The early morning noise from the local brickworks makes sleeping late impossible as they start to manufacture bricks at 8.30am! The drains in the showers smell and we had to buy cleaning materials as there were none in the house to combat this issue. Yes the house is nice but it in no way compensates for the disaster area around it.

My response to you is the same as it has been previously. I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. I can assure you that Aourir is a typical Morrocan village, as advertised on the website. It is not an upgraded tourist area and most people book because they want the authenticity that the area offers. We have travelled worldwide and have found the food to be very good in the local restaurents, in fact we are aware that many tourists come from Agadir to eat in them. I am not sure what was going on with the brickworks while you were there, we certainly have never been disturbed by this, neither have other guests complained. As regards the cleaning materials, we provide them initially and request that guests replace what the use. It is unforunate the previous guests did not do this.I would also like to point out that we do not charge for electric and gas as some rentals do. We are aware of the intermittant smell in the showers when they have not been used for a while but it dissapears very quickly once they are used. Morocco does not have european standards when it comes to drainage and we have experienced the same thing in some hotels. Once again I am truly sorry your holiday did not live up to your expectations. Best wises, Lyn

Buckinghamshireluxurious villa but with some practical issues
Left on 04/14/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Villa was luxurious as seen in photos and location was exactly what we wanted - in a 'real' morrocan village with friendly locals to get a glimpse of normal life out there.
Would have rated a 5 star except we had problems with no gas to the cooker when we arrived and on the last 2 days there was a problem with the drainage which meant a nasty smell in the bathroom for the last 2 days of our holiday. Local contacts to fix did respond promptly but fix was not readily made.
Would recommend you hire a car although other people seemed to get around by taxi, but a car will give you more freedom to explore. -

Rabat, MoroccoReally enjoyable stay in a great area
Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011
If you are looking something a little different from the hotels and apartments in agadir this house is perfect. Very close to agadir, it is a short drive to some wonderful beaches along the coast, a good base to explore the countryside inland to Immouzer and enjoy life in a Moroccan village! The locals were really friendly. There was a good range of restaurants both in the local village and further along the coast.
The house was very comfortable and well furnished. The few issues we had were sorted out quickly and the local agent and owners are friendly and helpful.

OxfordshireA relaxing and interesting really fabulous holiday
Left on 12/13/2010 for a stay in November 2010
Buena Vista Morocain provides the makings of a cherished and very special holiday experience. The house has a very warm and cozy feel but also has very spacious accommodation, perfectly balancing the pleasures of authentic Moroccan ambiance and local d?cor without sacrificing comfort and conveniences of a Western European home. The two terraces provide a perfect oasis for holiday lazytime - complete with outdoor sofas, and even a bar and fridge on the roof. Really, what more can one want?! Splendid views of the hillside offer further relaxation, and you can enjoy goat-watching while putting your feet up in the soothingly warm sunny weather. As for location, the accommodation is well situated to give a very real experience of a local rural Moroccan neighbourhood. We found the neighbours and locals to be immensely friendly and though their French usually far exceeds their English speaking ability, they really make an effort and are extremely welcoming. There are plenty of nearby kiosks for basic provisions, everything is extremely affordable and the aourir town centre is always intriguing as are the sights and sounds you'll repeatedly discover during the nice stroll to it. Beautiful local beaches are a short and inexpensive ride away from the house, and should you somehow feel homesick for more Western experience you can find anything in agadir which is also just a very short ride away. Lyn & David provided spot-on helpful recommendations in their visitors guide, and their local contacts were always available to answer any questions and quickly assist with anything. Visitors benefit greatly from their real desire to offer comfort and happiness. We couldn't possibly ask for anything more...except, perhaps, an even longer holiday.

A beautiful Moroccan house in a typical Moroccan village. The culture was all around you, smells, sights, people and language. My French improved leaps and bounds, The local people were all so friendly and helpful, although understanding each other was sometimes difficult. The nearby surfing beach was a joy either to surf or people watch. Local cuisine was tasy and inexpensive. There are many trips that can be organised to see more of the real Morocco.

This was our first visit to Morocco. As the house is situated in a traditional Berber Village it gave us the opportunity to experience the true Moroccan lifestyle. Every morning the women from the village walked their goats past the front door of the house to the hills at the back of the house. The house is finished to an excellent standard and has everything that you need. The views across the hills are beautiful. The information pack that is supplied has a good selection of local amenities. Lyn & Dave arranged the transfer for us from the airport by Bobo who has a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humour. It took us about 15 minutes to wander down through the village to the beach. We visited the local weekly market where you can get the most fabulous fruit and vegetables at amazingly cheap prices. The local people are extremely friendly and helpful. The house does not have a swimming pool but in the village there is a hotel where we went for a meal of locally caught fish. We were invited by the hotel manager to use the swimming pool there anytime we wanted to. We visited agadir a couple of times, we got there by taxi which again was extremely cheap. There are many restaurants along the seafront in agadir where you can get good food. The ice-cream bar was a particular favourite!! We had an excellent stay and can't wait to go back again!
