This mountain styled north Tahoe vacation rental home features three bedrooms/two baths and a loft and can accommodate up to 8 people. The rental home has been remodeled including the kitchen, bathrooms, decks, cedar siding, and more. It has two new redwood decks including one with a new hot tub and one with nice patio furniture (summer). The kitchen, living room, and dining room are open to one another with vaulted ceilings and rock fireplace for a spacious feeling. We stayed in the Balla house for almost a week during august 2012
There were five of us so we had enough room to sleep, but not as much to move around the living area due to the large number of furnitures.
The house is in reasonable condition (nothing broken), but almost everything is outdated and not much fun (carpet, sofas, dinning table etc.).
The kitchen and bathrooms were supposedly remodeled recently, but it felt like this was done to maximize the owner investment as opposed to give better quality/feeling to the renters...
Another area that needs an update is the deck (watch out from the unstable railing).
The location is ok, but with three kids walking to the beach was is not recommended.
The community pool is great. The kids loved it.
Overall we had a fine vacation, but left with a feeling that we could get more for the $300/night we paid

We had a great time! Near the lake, quiet, lots of extras in the cabin we weren't expecting. Very relaxing.

This is our second vacation in this home and we plan on renting again next summer for our annual Tahoe vacation. This home is clean, beds are comfortable and the layout is perfect for two families with PreK to 3rd grade kids to share. After romping around Lake Tahoe all day long we looked forward to home cooked meals, a relaxing soak in the hot tub, and a great nights rest. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The worst thing we could say about the house is access to internet was inconsistent. Only an issue for those who had to bring work with them and when streaming videos through our Roku we brought with us.

We loved our stay at the Balla House. I can't say enough about the deck and Hot Tub as well as all the furnishings. Lots of glasses, dishes and bowls, however there were no spices or condiments so be certain to bring even salt and pepper.

We found the cabin to be very clean, and uncluttered. It had everything we needed and the most amazing hot tub ever!! We hope to return to the Balla home again.

Our stay was for 5 nights during the midweek. In our party were husband/wife, adult daughter and family friend.
The Balla house is extremely comfortable and well appointed, including a good selection of Dvds, books and games. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends, especially for 3 couples sharing, it would be very good value indeed. The only glitch was we had to pay cash (with no discount for cash), because they couldn't take an overseas credit card (from australia)!! -

The fireplace worked well and there were plenty of TVs. We had two teenagers that slept upstairs in the Master suite which was cozy. That left us with the downstairs and the fireplace.
The kitchen is small but efficient. Only one person at a time can cook.
The kids said the upstairs shower was not high enough and low water flow. The downstairs shower was fine.
We enjoyed the hot tub.
