This stone house villa rental in Umbria is on the top of its own hill and has various outdoor tables situated throughout the estate. Ideal for a group of friends or a couple of families, this Umbria vacation rental is private, secluded, and near to amazing towns including Lake Trasimeno, where you can go boating or play water sports during the day, Perugia, which is filled with ancient architecture and interesting museums, and even Siena. If kids are part of the fami...ly, don’t worry about taking a trip out wine tasting, for a babysitter is available when needed!
Built entirely in local stone, this independent villa is situated in the middle of a well-kept garden with large landscaped grass areas and beautiful views of the Umbrian countryside. There is an outdoor patio with a BBQ and a dining table with chairs. There is a private swimming pool [12m x 6m] with sun loungers and umbrellas. Near the pool are a gazebo, a parasol, and a sitting area with a table and chairs. Also near the pool is a wood table with two benches. Parking is available within the property grounds for up to four cars.

Ground floor: Upon entering the house, there is a large stone and wood-burning oven to make bread and pizza. There are two cozy sitting areas with various couches and chairs, one of which has a fireplace. As you pass through an arch, you will reach the dining room with a long table and 14 chairs. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, microwave, Italian coffee maker, and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine. There is a guest bathroom with sink and WC on this floor.
First floor: A staircase of 12 steps leads to the first floor. On the right, there is a suite with a living area with a couch, a bathroom with a sink, toilet, bidet, and shower, and another staircase leading to an open loft with a 160 cm queen-sized bed. Down the hall from the first staircase is a family room with a couch, armchairs, satellite TV, computer with internet connection, and a telephone. There are two doors in the family room. The first door leads to a bedroom with a 160 cm queen-sized bed, a desk, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, bidet, and shower. The second door in the family room leads to a corridor with four more bedrooms. Three of them each have a 160 cm queen-sized bed whereas the fourth one has a 160 cm queen-sized bed as well as an 80 cm narrow single bed. Each of these four bedrooms has a sink, toilet, bidet, and shower.
The property is located one kilometer away from the medieval village of Agello. Although small, Agello has shops, a market, a pharmacy, and a gas station. Lake Trasimeno is a short drive away and here you can play water sports, dine at local restaurants and pizzerias, and browse all the charming shops. The highlight town nearby is Perugia, less than a 20 minute drive away. From the first settlement of Umbrians, Etrucscans, and Romans, Perugia has been a place of major importance. Its high position over the Tiber Valley puts it in a key military position, which is why it has been the site of many political and military struggles throughout history. Today it remains a spot of rich historical traditions and architecture spanning centuries. Just a few examples: ancient walls from the original Etruscan city; a 12th century fountain; the 14th century Palazzo dei Priori; and the 15th century Cathedral of San Lorenzo. The list goes on and on. Any visit to Perugia should also include a stroll along the Corso Vannucci. Suffice to say you'll never run out of things to see here! Likewise, nearby Assisi is a place rich in a different kind of history, as it is the birthplace of both St. Francis and St. Clare. You can visit the 13th century basilica housing the body of St. Francis, filled with magnificent frescoes by Giotto. There are also other smaller churches, chapels, and religious buildings—including the body of St. Clare, still on view. Day trips to Siena and Florence are also perfectly feasible.

I rented this villa in 2008, using another rental company, so can't comment on the service. But the villa and its location are fantastic. Beautiful views of the hilltop village of agello plus the surrounding landscape. Lots of nearby places for fun day trips - Assisi, Orvieto, Sienna, plus Lake Trasimeno. The kitchen is small, but everything else worked perfectly for a group of 11 adults. Enjoy!
