“Exceptional, Peacefull, Relaxation” This is the cleanest, most spickspan house we've ever rented for vacation! We are a family of four with a 20 and a 15 year old. Fully airconditioned in all rooms, even though we preferred to rather have windows and doors open during the days and enjoy the continous breeze from the sea. The view down to Rethymnon and the sea from both, the rooftop veranda and the ground level veranda, is breathtaking and ever so soul-refreshing. The villa is fairly high up on a mountain. The owners argiro and Nikos put every effort into making your stay pleasant and memorable. Due to a telephone in the house they can be reached anytime for advice. They show real pride in their villa and Nikos lovingly takes care of the garden, pool and watering the plants daily. When one of the outdoor chair covers ripped through normal wear and tear it was replaced within 24 hours with a smile; that's service! A special mention: the beds are comfortable!! One problem we encountered was the extremely steep driveway. Our rented car (1.3 ltr petrol)got down, but couldn't get back up without help. We returned it and got a car with decent engine power instead (1.4 ltr turbo diesel); plain sailing from there on thanks to the friendly service of Car Rental Crete in Heraklion. Argiro and Nikos are very friendly, open people with lots of heart. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Everything you would hope for in a holiday villa...

...and more, because argiro and Nikos make you feel at home from the very first day, providing an assortment of local delicacies to whet your appetite for Cretan cuisine. The villa is spotlessly clean and Nikos attends the garden every day. So, if there is something you need, or a recommendation where to go, they can help. The view from the villa is superb and you can spend time just gazing into the distance and the coastline. There is a breeze in the hills and so the heat of the summer is manageable - and there is always shade to find or to relax in the lovely pool. Local supermarkets are a 5 minute drive away, as is the local town and Rethymno is less than 15 minutes - a treasure of a town with many side streets to explore and discover new cafes, shops and restaurants. The villa is extremely comfortable with all the luxuries you look for in a holiday - including wifi, dishwasher and air-conditioning in the bedroom that works!! the location is fantastic and peaceful, although you will need a car and confidence to handle the hillside location of the villa! We had a truly wonderful holiday at alkistis villa and would definitely consider returning the next time we are in Crete. … see more
