The Town Of 1770 is a picturesque seaside village surrounded on three sides by the Coral Sea and Bustard Bay which has been referred to as Queensland's answer to Italy Portofino. 1770 is the closest access point north of Brisbane to the Great Barrier Reef.
Historic as the second landing site of Lieutenant James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour in May 1770, the area is rich in wildlife and natural beauty and offers scenic vistas in every direction.
Situated within easy traveling distance (just over 1 hour) from Gladstone and Bundaberg, 1770's quickest means of access is to fly to either of these hubs, then hire a car and it's a leisurely picturesque drive to the seaside spot. Flights depart daily from all major capital cities connecting to Hervey Bay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Gladstone. Plans are afoot to build a commercial airport. That means, to avoid the rush, the time to visit is now. Some might find it convenient to enjoy the comfort of Greyhound busses which travel direct to the town of 1770, Agnes Wates. Others may opt to jump on a train to Bundaberg, Miriam Vale and Gladstone and hire a car from there.

My whole family was very happy and excited when we first saw the apartment. The property was nice and spacious, perfect for the whole family. Everything exceeded our expectations. Very neat and well kept up. The apartment has a very modern feel to it. We liked the ambiance and we enjoyed the fresh air coming from the beach. So far, this had been our best vacation .

Staying at the apartment was incredible. Very spacious and relaxing. The rooms were perfect for my whole family. We're glad that we chose this property. It had lots of space, privacy , nice interior, modern furnishings, and peaceful environment. Service was excellent and we would consider returning soon.

We stayed with 2 good friends for 4 nights.
The apartment has all the amenities that you need, a great balcony and large master bed and ensuite.
We used the kitchen quite a lot to cook and it's well stocked with dinner ware. When we found that the oven was not working the managers dispatched an entire team of tradies to attempt to fix it the very next day. I am sure it will be working for the next patrons. They managers are great and responsive should you need anything at all.
Notes: There is no direct view of the ocean from the unit, but this didn't bother us.
The beach is just mere minutes away, a short walk across the dunes.
If you are having more than 4 people stay, the 3rd bedroom is small and interior and only has 2 single beds in it.
