The cottage was superb, the photos do not do it justice. It was fully equiped to the highest standard, the garden would not be suitable for any one with mobility issues as it is terraced and quite steep. It is ideally placed for touring or walking, several stunning walks from Malham only 2 miles away. Good value for money food at the local pub 1 mile away. The whole family and dog had a most enjoyably holiday. only negative, off road parking a bit hair raising as very narrow entrance
A very happy family holiday

Thre's no-one to let you in, but the key is in a tiny safe with a combination lock on the wall by the front door.
The cottage has been recently converted and extended with loving care and to a high standard. It is on a fairly main road but us townies are used to traffic and the constant stream of tractors ( it was silage time) was a source of entertainment for the children, as were the sheep in the field opposite. The master bedroom is of a good size with ensuite bathroom, but the other 3 bedrooms are very cramped. The farm shop up the road is just that( cheese ,meat and pots of jam ), but has a cafe attached. Otherwise the Co-op in Gargrave or the international standard Morrisons in Skipton will provide virtually everything you could imagine!
Off-road parking is in a slot next to the house. It is only a couple of inches wider than a golf so requires precision parking and wouldn't fit a 4X4.
The rather bare back garden slopes away steeply and is in three terraces
and is open to the road via the parking slot. We bought solme plastic fencing to keep the dog and children from wandering into the road.
The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils ( but no mixing bowl) and the cupboard stocked with dozens and dozens of glasses and lots of crockery, but oddly only the minimum of cutlery ( just a knife fork and spoon each).
Airton is a lovely little village, the neighbours are friendly, dogs are welcomed and Stanley our scottie was fine after we blocked the hole in the hedge. Good Holiday!
