(Minimum of one week rental required) Just outside the sparkling town of Aix-en-Provence, in a private hamlet up on the side of a green and leafy lane, there sits a charming little house; peaceful, light and carefree, well protected from the outside world by tall hedges and lovely walls. Built on what was once the parkland of a now-forgotten vineyard, this little gem of a property, simple and elegant, stands remote from the town's bustling activity but is nevertheless within very easy reach of it, just a few kilometers away!

Villa Iris can be reached through heavy green gates, which open onto a garden full of flowers and a side lane lea...ding to the house at the end of the road, passing close to the entrance of another lovely property. As the villa is situated in a hamlet there are neighbors, all discreet and welcoming.

The garden is not very large but is pleasantly proportioned and well maintained. It is entirely enclosed and bordered by a high hedge of white cedars. The lawn sits amongst a garden that features an olive tree, some oleanders and other Mediterranean flora. In its center you find the swimming pool, which is more like a lap-pool, and is accessed by some steps.

To the right of the main house there is a small house of glass and metal that offers a double bed, an ensuite shower room and W.C. The shower room is also accessible directly from the garden through a separate door.

This is an absolutely charming and elegant villa, superbly organized, equipped and conceived. It is a carefree and very welcoming house for a classic holiday in the heart of Cezanne's country.

Under an archway a glass door of interesting features opens into a wide entrance hall with a piano and a music cabinet. Behind pretty doors, painted in light tones, there is a cloakroom and guest toilet. This entrance leads into a large living/dining room with two French windows opening out onto a wisteria-covered pergola and, beyond, a lawn and a pleasant swimming pool.

The living area is very comfortable with two sofas facing a fireplace with a wood burning insert (very convenient for those winter months). A beautiful polychrome painted wardrobe houses the TV set and the dining area features a round table with an interesting library/display case close by. The decoration is in soothing tones of ivory white and beige. The kitchen is well-equipped with large fridge/freezer, microwave, gas stove, oven, dishwasher, coffee and espresso machine, toaster, kettle, and washing machine.

On the top floor there are two bedrooms on each side of a wide landing with touches of warm colors and a high beamed ceiling. Light is provided through an opening in the tiled roof. The charmingly decorated master bedroom (with queen bed), has French windows overlooking the garden and the swimming pool. Next to it is a separate bathroom with bathtub, WC and wash basin.
