Nestled high on Ajax Peak is Caribbean Jewels , an inviting new villa and a jewel in itself. Ajax Peak has one of the most amazing vistas on the island of St. John. Caribbean Jewels was custom designed to provide each room and all three decks with awe-inspiring views overlooking Coral Bay Harbor and the British Virgin Islands. You may decide never to leave this delightful bit of paradise.

Caribbean Jewels is a great central destination that offers access to wher...ever your itinerary takes you. Within 10 minutes you're basking in the sun at one of the world's most famous and breathtaking, white sand beaches. An easy twenty minute drive brings you to town – Cruz Bay, where you can meander shop after specialty shop and dine at one of St. John’s foremost restaurants.

When your day is done and you reach home, you will find everything you could possibly need. A refreshing dip in the pool is a wonderful way to forget the rest of the world. While preparing dinner, your designated chef for the evening will ensure a meal fit for a king or queen. The well-appointed kitchen is open to the living and dining areas.

Two spacious, nicely decorated bedrooms await your nightly slumber or afternoon nap. Each room is equipped with air conditioning that is seldom needed.

The kiss of the island breeze is ever so gentle and fresh. You will want to sleep with the windows open. Each bedroom has its own beautifully designed bathroom en suite.

  Great Villa in a Great Location! However...

  Caribbean Jewels is a relatively new villa, looking like it was built around 2008. The design is perfect for two couples with a downstairs suite, and basically an identical one above reached by a spiral staircase. The living room, dining room & kitchen are essentially in one lovely large room. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked some great meals there during our stay. The view is absolutely fantastic, and reached by driving up ajax Peak Road. Pool is a nice size with lounge chairs. Easy access to Coral Bay & it's restaurants & shops (10 minutes). Easy access to the North Shore beaches (10-15 minutes). We drove into Cruz Bay only once to stock up on groceries, but otherwise stayed on the more relaxing east end of St John.
  
  Two negatives however that you should be aware of...
  
  The first is that the property is aging as sea exposed properties do. The villa sits on a steep hillside and has railings all around. The railings are rotting in places, posts starting to loosen, and missing balusters. Would be a problem for a family with small children. One of the lounge chairs by the pool was broken & stashed behind the house so one of our party could not be seated next to the pool. Fabrics on the sofa inside the house were torn. We'd definitely want to see some basic maintenance from the owner before we would rent again.
  
  The most unfortunate issue were over-sensitive neighbors just up the hill. There is a post in the Tripadvisor forum on this issue and you'd do well to read. Looks like there have been ongoing issues between the up-hill neighbor, the villa owner & guests. We were having a normal voiced conversation among 4 adults in the swimming pool, no shouting, no loud splashing. The lady neighbor up the hill yelled down at us in a very unfriendly tone & voice that she could hear our conversation & to keep it down. It appears from the forum posting that there have been issues for years and in our opinion she is now oversensitive to any noise. We would have appreciated a warning from the rental agency or a note from the owner to avoid creating further tension & putting a damper on our afternoon and creating our own sensitivity during our week's stay.
  
  All that said, the villa's design & location are great, and you can decide for yourself how to address the above points.
