My wife and I rented the Half Moon Bay condo for a 10 day vacation with our 2.5 year old daughter and we loved it. The condo itself has a very convenient layout, is nicely decorated and has a large terrace that is just a couple of steps from the beach. The position of the building itself on Half Moon Bay could not be better either. It's just a short beach walk distance from La Buena Vida, the corner store is 1 minute away and the lagoon is only 10 minutes walking distance. We highly recommend it.

This rental is just as advertised. Just a few feet from the surf with all of the amenities. Just a short walk to several choices in dining and some local shopping. Three sisters had a relaxing weekend away from it all.

This was our fifth time at Half Moon Bay, number 2. It is perfect! The patio looks right out onto the most beautiful bay imaginable. The condo is great for our family of four. It is immaculately clean. It is well located- half way between town and the cenote. We ride bikes or walk everywhere. You will love this beautiful condo!

Diana is a very nice host. We had a very good time. The local restaurants were good. The breakfast at the bay was wonderful. The dinner north on the beach was very good.
The downstairs unit has only one good bedroom. The upstairs has 2. We stayed upstairs.
We had what we call our Mexican adventure after having a passport stolen during our swim with the dolphins.

So sorry to hear about your Mexican mis-adventure. That is a serious damper on your holiday time. For future guests, safes are in each condo unit. Please use them. You do not need your passport again until you depart at the airport. Put passports, extra cash, credit cards, phones, cameras, anything not being used that day, into the safe. Make a copy of your passport before you travel for ease of replacing. Call your credit card companies and let them know your travel dates. These are safe steps to follow wherever you travel.

My friends and I had a great time staying here. The condo was nothing too fancy (was not looking for fancy!), but spacious, private, and clean...and best of all, amazingly decorated. There were so many fun little details that we noticed about 10 new things in the house each day we were there. Akumal had just the right amount "happening." There are a few casual beach bars, if you like to go out, but in general it's a middle-aged to older crowd.

Akumal is pretty 'low key'. Thirty minutes to Playa del Carmen or 20 minutes to Tulum gets you to a younger, party crowd. May find a larger selection of 'diver guys' at the palapa bar during the high season... Next time!

The condo is right on the beach so you can hear the waves and the view is gorgeous. I just basked in it. The people were friendly, the nearby restaurants good and there were some delightful shops.

We had a great vacation! Condo Half Moon Bay is perfect is so many ways. The location is fabulous. You are right on the beach, looking out at the ocean. We wanted to snorkel, and Half Moon Bay is well known for it's snorkeling from shore. Unfortunately, we were there in October, which is the rainy season. It stormed at night and the waves were too high for snorkeling during the day (the beach is too rocky for great swimming). No problem, a half mile one one is an inlet with a protected reef and gorgeous fish - or walk a half mile the other way and you are on the beautiful white sands of akumal Bay where you can swim with the sea turtles or just swim and sunbathe. We were on the ground level which has a large, furnished terrace to sunbathe and watch the sea.
The condo is huge with a nice, well equipped kitchen. There is a restaurant/beach bar within a close walk. There is also a traditional pueblito across highway, if you would rather eat Yucatecan. The area is very, very safe. Everyone that we met was so nice. Diana, the owner is fabulous with recommendation and suggestions. Altogether a great vacation!

Stayed 2 nights with my best friend. We had a rental car so that provided us with the freedom to move around. This condo was completely comfortable and beautiful. We were sorry that we hadn't the time to invite more friends before going on our trip to akumal.
Despite the abundant construction going on around us, all staff were so friendly and knowledgeable that we did not want for anything. The surroundings were also extremely safe and the water delightful. It was so beautiful to wake up to the sun coming in and the ocean so gorgeous.
Truly a wonderful experience. The owner was also very helpful with travel tips that all proved useful.

This was our second time staying in Condo Half Moon Bay, and we've found it difficult to decide which of the two trips was the best vacation we ever had. The condo is spacious and comfortable, right on the beach with some excellent snorkelling and in walking distance of Yal-Ku lagoon (more excellent snorkelling) and La Lunita (truly amazing food). And the ubiquitous sea turtles are always a treat: we watched one mama turtle dig a nest from the condo's deck.

The condos at Half Moon Bay are absolutely fantastic. Waking up the sound of the waves breaking on the beach in front of the condo is about as relaxing and good as it gets. Seeing the turtles in the Bay (Bahia de la Media Luna - Half Moon Bay) in the morning was captivating especially knowing they had likely just created a nest the night before. Snorkeling just off the patio - amazing!
The location on the Riviera Maya was superb providing us with short trips to see Mayan ruins in Tulum and Coba as well as travelling to the more touristy areas of Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Cancun. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
The local restaurants were especially nice which meant we did not have to travel far to get a good and reasonably priced meal. -

We had a great time staying at Half Moon Bay #2. The place was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Our maid came everyday and shined it up.
We really enjoyed the local to restaurants in akumal, especially those right next to HMB - like La Buena Vida and La Lagunita. The walk to town was no big deal but we did rent a golf cart to make getting around with our 19 month old easier and faster.
I absolutely loved the sea turtle action. The first night I came out on the patio to find one directly below HMB#2 on the beach. It was a magical addition to the trip; every morning we would wake up and look for tracks in the sand or newly marked nests.

It is certainly unfortunate that both, a mistake was made with her keys and that the cistern pump fuse blew, on her first night. She arrived late and reception office was not maned at the time. An emergency phone number is posted on the reception office door, which she didn't call. The office responded to her needs first thing in the morning. No refund was offered because this was a 'comped' holiday. Ms. Kraynak had cancelled, at last minute, previous dates in Feb. Under normal cancellation policy she would have forfeited her holiday. I'm sorry that this happened, but totally out of my control.

We stayed in condo #2. It was comfortable and the view was spectacular. When we arrived the breeze from the ocean was beyond what I expected. You could open the sliding glass doors and a side door or window and the breeze just filtered through the condo. The second bedroom was comfortable and right off the kitchen. The master was large with a walk in shower and safe to keep your valuables. The kitchen was large and had all that we needed. At night you could hear the lapping of the water but it was a soothing noise. The deck with all the chairs provided a beautiful view of the bay. I would get up every day to take pics of the sunrise, absolute beauty. The beach is rocky so wear appropriate shoes. We snorkeled but did not see much but I think it was because we did not go out far enough. The water was like bath water and a bit rough. I can't wait to go back. I fell in love with akumal, Mexico.

For our 1 year anniversary we thought we would give Mexico a shot. It was more than expected...blue waters, swimming with the turtles and complete relaxation. This is the perfect spot if you are looking to get away from the frou frou resort atmosphere and feel like you live in paradise on the beach. We will definately go back.

I couldn't believe the setting & the level of service provided, from the daily maid service to the beach raking/cleaning each morning. The patio makes the place & the ocean isn't more than 20 feet from the patio. Outstanding value!

A couple girlfriends and myself bought a LivingSocial voucher to stay here. It was my first time buying a vacation package like that, so I proceeded with caution and low expectations. As it turned out, I loved Half Moon Bays, and akumal. The house was clean and comfortable; it was located right along the beach so the view is just breathtaking.
The stay includes fresh fruits, and drinkable water. There is a kitchen full of pots, pans, dishes and everything you might need to cook there on your own. There are also toiletries so you don't have to bring your own.
Diana was wonderful and very helpful in answering questions and concerns; gave us a full packetful of information on areas around akumal, how to get there, what to bring, and every other traveling concern you may have.
I will definitely recommend this stay to other people.

I booked this trip through an on line promotion, and am so glad that I did! From the first contact I had with the condo owner,Diana was fantastic! She was so helpful and thorough with every little detail imaginable from driving, to sightseeing, from what to pack, to where to dine!
Our accommodations were better than we could have hoped for-clean, comfortable and inviting. All service staff was lovely and quite helpful. Akumal is a very small town and this condo was within waking distance to everything!
Charming town- we cant wait to go back!

Half moon bay #2 is a great 2 bedroom condo right on the beach in akumal. It is big and spacious. It was clean when we got there and cleaned every day. Diana is great, she is friendly and sends great tips to prepare you for your trip. The only disappointment for us is that, although the bay is beautiful, it is very rocky. This makes accessing the ocean right outside the condo somewhat difficult. However, that is minor given access nearby and all the other great features. I highly recommend this place!

Found a deal on livingsocial.com that was way too good to pass up. My girlfriend and I went down for our one year anniversary and had a great time. Snorkeling with the turtles was awesome and finding all the little starfish was really cool. Didn't see any turtles hatching or laying eggs, but just seeing the nests was really nice. There are a couple of stores that are kind of pricey near the condo and a nice restaurant right across the highway. It's small but the employees are really nice and we ate there every night. The condo has enough that if you wanted to just buy some groceries you could hang out in the bay and never leave. Also, had a great time in the lagoon right down the street and visiting the Coba ruins about 1-1.5 hours away. I've already recommended this place to my close friend for his honeymoon. I like to get around, but I can see myself coming back in the future. Only complaint was that there was no tv in our condo and the owner mentioned that another condo had two, but would not attempt to get it for us.

Condo Half Moon Bay was excellent. The location in akumal was amazing: right on the beach (a bit rocky in that area, but a short walk/bike ride to a great swimming beach), excellent restaurants, small town feel while being tourist friendly. The condo staff were very helpful and friendly.

The condo was located right on the beach and had all the amenities needed for a stay away from home.
All that could be added would be wifi and also maybe routine pest control.
A little updating of the hardware on the doors and windows can also be done.

We loved our stay at the Half Moon Bay Condos. We went with a group of friends and had spacious sleeping arrangements and great access to the beach. Surroundings are gorgeous and the condos were very clean and kept up. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in this area!

Great view and well maintained condo. Maid comes regularly to clean condo.For the price I paid it was a great value.
My only concern is there is no internet - which I missed a lot since as a tourist on internet you can get lot of information without wasting time in finding internet cafe.
Also I would suggest keeping basic spices would be good.like there was no salt ,sugar or pepper.( not a big deal but its convenient).

Our stay at Half Moon Bay was very nice. The condo was clean. Although we did have a small bug problem, but if you keep all food and drinks in the fridge then you will not have any issues. The rooms are spacious. the upstairs unit can accommodate two couples with no problem.
The balcony provides and amazing view of the ocean. We were only a bike ride from town where we at at Turtle Bay Cafe for breakfast every morning. Very delicious food!

I am born i the yucatan peninsula and wanted to share my land with a few of my american friends and akumal and your condo made this experienceamazing despite cutting short our stay inakumal due to the hurrican i was able to share with my friends our beautiful beaches. We were witness to the birth of about 60 baby turtles right in front of the condo, snorkel, visited tulum all in a very short time, evacuated to the city of merida and continue having a great time, we are planning already to comeback next year. Your staff in akumal was great. Thank you

It's hard to go wrong with a terrace on the beach! Could not have imagined a more beatiful location. You could literally walk out the sliding doors, down the terrace steps, and go straight into the bay to snorkel with sea turtles. No complaints about the condo itself- it was tidy and the paintings on the wall were really cute. We loved everything about our stay. Having La Buena Vida a short walk beach walk away was fantastic - we could go grab drinks without worrying about driving!

We had a fantastic time, summarized perhaps by the several sightings we had of sea turtles, both moms and babies, on the beach directly in front of the condo. Almost every night, it seemed, someone from the management staff would pass by our patio and let us know about tortugas. Seeing three hatching, seeing two egg-layings, were amazing experiences; and yet, were only a small part of a continually fantastic vacation.

My partner George and I had a great time visiting akumal. We enjoyed the visits to Tulum, Coba, Valladolid, Cozumel, and enjoyed Hidden adventures. The condo was comfortable and clean. In the second bedroom, it would be nicer to have a bigger bed, if we were bringing friends(which we hope to do).
We missed not having internet available, which would be nice. The gentlemen visit next door were a little disturbing, cause they were smoking pot and the music was a little loud (was the only moment i felt stressed)

The location is beautiful, the condo was perfect. We loved everything inside and around the condo.
It was wonderful having snorkel equipment, movies and fruit provided.
Our only complaint was no internet. We resolved it by hanging out at a very near by restaurant that provided internet access. -

Very happy with the condo. Great location. Akumal is a great little beach. A little disappointed with seating in the condo. We had 4 adults and the sofa/chairs were very small and slightly uncomfortable. No pool was also a drawback! Watershoes are also a necessity since ocean access is very rocky

The apartment was great with a breathtaking view! Clean and comfortable with some pretty cool decorations. Staff was helpful, the snorkelinig gear was a definite plus! Everything was exactly as described and all info provided was extremely helpful.

Our first trip to Mexico and we picked a winner! Half Moon Bay was an incredible experience. The first time we came up the front walk and looked out onto the bay, we were overwhelmed. The condo was spacious and comfortable and everything you could want or need was right near by. The addition of a day at Hidden Worlds just made the value even better. After spending an exhausting, adventure-filled day in the jungle it was so relaxing to lounge on the patio at Half Moon Bay. I can't wait to return to akumal for a longer stay!

This is a beautiful condo nested in the middle of Half Moon Bay. It is a convienent walk to a restaurant on the beach, and wonderful to wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise with your coffee. Just remember your water shoes and snorkel gear if you want to go swimming, which when you see the bay, how can you resist?! If you are lucky enough to go during nesting season, you could see the baby turtles hatch like we did! So wonderful and green and lush! Could not have asked for a better location!

This was by far my favorite vacation. Great condo, great view, great weather, great food, amazing service and a daily maid service as well as bottled water and the owners are incredibly nice and responsive! They even included snorkeling equipment for us to use and a nice fruit basket upon arrival! I would go back without a doubt!

My 15 year old son & I took a spontaneous trip down to Mexico in July and had a fantastic getaway at the Half Moon Condo! I corresponded via email & phone with the condos owner prior to our trip & she provided a level of service that is a rarity these days - driving directions, maps, suggestions for outings, restaurants, details on the area & the condo itself - she even pre-warned us about the Topes - massive road humps! Upon arrival we were thoroughly impressed - the condo was neat as a pin, decorated in a sun-drenched hacienda colors, was well equipped & we had everything we needed to make our visit spectacular. Snorkel gear was included as were beach lounge chairs & the bath had all the necessary accoutrement. We took lots of little excursions while we were there snorkeled in the local lagoon, visited the ruins at Tulum, zip-lined at Hidden World, ate local authentic Mexican food & swam with the sea turtles. However, when we return next summer (planning already in the works) I plan to spend most of my time having a siesta on the pristine, white sandy beach & put my toes in the crystal blue bay!

We had a great time in akumal Mexico. The condo was great, and so were the owners. The condo is located in what I like to call a small beach town (Akumal, mexico). Most newbies walk to all of the attractions. If you go not rent a car or scooter. This will sometimes place your turn home trip at night. If this is the case...you will need a flash light as the roads are not well let. We enjoyed our stay.

I really enjoyed staying at Half Moon Bay for vacation with my friends. The location and view was amazing, and the local beach and people were great. I loved the excursion that was included and that we got snorkeling gear to check out sea turtles at the beach! The maid service was very friendly and everything was wonderful! Thank you for an excellent vacation!

We initially booked our vacation at Half Moon Bay because it was featured as a LivingSocial Escape but everything about the property is worth the full price and have already discussed another vacation here. Diana was extremely helpful in booking the vacation as well as providing us with a guide to akumal, Playa del Carmen and the surrounding area's activities - including hints on transportation, tipping, things to do/see, where to eat, etc. We were completely prepared!
The condo itself (We stayed in #4) was outstanding - very well kept, lots of space, and the master bedroom opened onto a balcony that overlooked the beach, and the sun would wake us up every morning - there are also thick curtains for the late sleepers, but you can also wake up early, put your bathing suit on and continue sleeping on the beach, which you can do right outside the condo or at akumal Bay, which is about a mile up the road near the market and dive shop. We walked there, but you can also rent bikes and golf carts.
While we didn't get the pleasure of witnessing it, Akumal is noted for the sea turtles that come to lay their nests on the beaches - they're marked off everywhere - even right outside the condo! We spoke to many people who did get to see the females laying eggs as well as the hatchlings making their way out to sea - definitely not something that you can witness on every vacation, and we will be back to have another shot at it during nesting season!
If you're looking for a low-key (not much night life in akumal, but nearby Playa del Carmen or Tulum are good spots) beach vacation, Akumal is perfect - and Half Moon Bay Condos offers a great place to stay during your visit!
