When we first made the reservation, Mari-Jo gave us a lot of good information about our stay. When we arrived, everything was like it has been described. It was very clean, had everything we needed. Jorge, the manager, was very nice, always available if we needed something. This place is a few minuts walk to a great lagoon and a few minuts walk to a nice beach where you can observe turtles. I was travelling we three other friends and eveybody has the same opinion: Great place, great price!
Ill go back for sure with my familly. -

DallasHard to beat - Value of Casa Quetzal

We had a wonderful time staying at Casa Quetzal. Jorge is a gracious host. We were within walking distance of beautiful beaches and Yalku Lagoon is literally around the corner. We had all the comforts of home at Casa Quetzal - kitchen, living area, washer/dryer, separate bedrooms and baths, lovely patio. The nights were quiet and peaceful. My college age son and a friend enjoyed staying in the unit on the top floor where they could climb on the roof and look up at the stars. We rented a golf cart and bikes to make the trip down to the center of akumal in minutes. Good location, friendly people, safe, and very reasonably priced. Jorge is an expert diver and he can give you all kinds of tips on snorkeling and diving in the akumal area. I really think it would be hard to beat the price, location, and value of Casa Quetzal.

Jorge was a great host and was able to answer all of our questions about the area. The room was beautiful and always very clean. We loved that it was more rustic than Cancun, but was still close to Tulum, beaches, eco-parks, and small restaurants. We also liked that if we wanted to make our own meals, we could do that. It was very hot and humid when we were in akumal, so it was nice that we had the option to run the air conditioner or just keep the windows open for breezes. The free Wi-Fi was another great bonus! Once we got into akumal it was a little bit hard to find, but we also forgot our directions at home so had we had those with, we would have know it was off of one of the main roads. The penthouse was very responsibly priced--we really enjoyed our honeymoon and we can't wait to return some day!

The best place to spend your vacations!
We stay in the PentHouse of Casa Quetzal for 2 weeks. The PH is pn the 3rd floor, the entrance is independent from the other 2 departments. The view is awesome, one side is ocean view and the other side is tha mayan jungle view. The PH is perfect for 1 to 3 persons, and full equiped with a.C., TV, Kitchen, Dinner/Living room, terrace with hammock and outside living room. Near the PH you can find different places to eat, or you can shop in the supermarket and cook delicious food or a grill. You can't miss visiting the Yalku lagoon to snorkel tour, you can ask your landlord for packages of equipment rental and full day acess to the snorkel places, bike and golf car rentals. The akumal beach is perfect to swim and snorkel, and also to spend a hole day relaxing in the sand down a palm tree shadow. A slice of paradise for you and your loved ones. -

Our stay was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The master bedroom was huge and we appreciated the king size bed. The patio and hammock were thoroughly enjoyed. We had lots of room with extra bedrooms and extra shower. Everything was clean and maintained.
Satellite TV and the internet access were also very good.
Our needs were well looked after by Jorge. He was most helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this accommodation, except for his dogs.
