Playa Caribe is a gorgeous luxury condominium with affordable rates, loc...ated about 60 miles south of the Cancun airport off the 307 main highway, right on the sandy beach in the charming seaside village of Akumal.

Akumal is a peaceful resort, away from the maddening crowds of the “touristy” cities, yet has all the amenities you could want including many water and eco-jungle activities, delicious dining, bars, and comfort. The condominium itself has only 12 condos to preserve the small town atmosphere, and is the only condo in Akumal with its own reverse osmosis water treatment system so you can drink the purified water from all taps just like at home.

Playa Caribe #4 is a beautiful, very spacious second floor luxury unit overlooking both the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean AND the verdant jungle, just 20 steps from the Sea. Both bedrooms have private patios and a third patio is off the living room looking onto the beach. Decorated in colors and textures of Mexico and the Caribbean, with three custom-made stained glass windows, an authentic Mexican mask collection, and many pieces of Mexican cultural art, it gently brings Mayan ambience into your life.

The unit sleeps 6: the master bedroom with a comfy king bed (and high thread count linens) has views both of the sparkling ocean and the lush jungle, with a full bath and two sinks. The second bedroom has two double beds with romantic mosquito canopies and a full bath. Each bedroom has its own TV with VCR or DVD and its own separate patio to view the lush jungle, and there is a lovely terrace off the living room where you can dine or read while watching turtles and rays cavort in the ocean waters below. There is FREE high speed wireless internet service.

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, small appliances, serving dishes, spices, and candles—everything to make your stay enjoyable . . . . and memorable. Dining is at the breakfast bar or at the dining table; both have views of the ocean. There is daily maid service (you do not need to do dishes or make your bed!), 24-hour security, and room safes. Playa Caribe has a private pool, central air conditioning, and treated WATER THAT IS SAFE TO DRINK from all taps Yet with these amenities, we are concerned about our environmental impact, and have been awarded the CEA Ecological seal of approval for environmental protection.

The Maya name Akumal means “land of the turtle” because turtles actually do lay eggs and hatch here during the summer; this is an incredible life affirming experience to watch. Playa Caribe is within walking distance of gourmet restaurants and breakfast cafes, and abounds with activities like snorkeling or scuba diving on the offshore reefs, swimming in the unique cenotes, tours to Mayan ruins, golf, or siestas.

The village of Akumal is only 20 minutes drive south from the glitzy Playa del Carmen, which hosts the ferry to the island of Cozumel, and has many activities should you desire to leave your tranquil life in Akumal for the day or evening. The Maya ruins at Tulum are only a 20 minute drive south of Akumal and you can swim with dolphins in Puerto Aventuris about 15 minutes north.

Playa Caribe #4 is beachfront with a stunning view of the shimmering Caribbean, in a quiet village where guests come to enjoy nature and serenity. There is onsite parking, onsite office, night-time security, a bedroom safe...and daily maid service. Easy access to the Tulum Maya ruins, riotous Playa del Carmen, the ferry to Cozumel, Chitzen Nitza and Coba, and snorkeling or swimming or diving in the sea just outside the condo. We love to SCUBA dive, relax in a quiet atmosphere that still has the amenities we want. For us, Playa Caribe is magical, and has it all--the Mexican-Maya ambience, delicious food, balmy weather. It is a location where we bring our family to renew our loving relationships. Bliss!!!!!!!

  We had an amazing wonderful time in akumal. Your place is really great! It worked out perfectly
  for 2 couples. The staff at Playa Caribe from Pablo and agustin to Patty the maid are great and
  very helpful. We looked at some other condos while we were there and none were as nice and clean as yours. We snorkelled 2 or 3 times a day the whole week at half moon bay, Ya Kul, and akumal bay.
  Some of the photos are from our cenote trip to Hidden Worlds.
  We went to Tulum and thank you for letting us know about Mezzanine. We had lunch there and
  it was wonderful!!
  I thought at first it was just a tourist come on about swimming with the turtles in akumal bay, but I lost count of the number I saw. Maybe 12 or more. Also 2 rays in Ya Kul and 1 in akumal bay.
  The weather was great just a little rain over night a few days and then Thursday there was heavy rain in the afternoon and again on Friday.
  
  We enjoyed all the restaurants you suggested. Loved the guacamole at Tequilaville.

  Best vacation ever!! The condo was so large for our 3 children that we all had our own space. We loved swimming with the turtles in the Bay, and we even got to see a mama turtle laying her eggs. Everything we needed was in the condo and it was even more beautiful than my own home. I love the quiet community, with one main road to walk up and down, but enough restaurants and little shops that we had everything we needed. I hated to leave but have already made a reservation for next year.

  Wow! What a dream fantasy vacation! Every time we stay at Playa Caribe #4 it is more beautiful. The view of the sparkling ocean is to die for, the beds are comfy, and the Mexican masks are a beautiful collection. They must have been fun to look for and buy. Agustin in the office, was helpful with the day excursions , but we loved your condo so much it was hard to leave it. My kids loved the pool and the ocean with almost no waves. I loved snorkeling and following the same turtle around every day. The best most relaxing vacation ever.
