Description from the manager
Luna Azul Casitas are always a great choice for those interested in long term rental, for divers or others that plan on spending their visit out and about. This studio efficiency unit has no view, but the beach and great snorkeling are just a few steps away. The unit is clean and comfortable with private bath and well equipped kitchen area that includes microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, and breakfast bar. Luna Azul is one of our favorite condominium properties. It has a great central location within walking distance to Akumal's Yal-Ku Lagoon, restaurants and other services. The management here is excellent and always takes great care...Read more

Reno, NVA fabulous studio at a great price!
Left on 01/15/2013 for a stay in November 2012
Bodega Sur is a lovely studio with a king bed, full size fridge, nice kitchen area and a private patio where you can enjoy breakfast or a before dinner drink with friends. La Buena Vida restaurant (my favorite!) is a 2 minute walk away. There is wifi, though we had trouble getting it to work in the room. We ended up heading to the beach and sitting at the palapa for wifi, but we were spending time there anyway so it wasn't an issue. The staff are friendly, helpful, and they keep the place clean!

USAA real Vacation!
Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We spent 12 nights in akumal - snorkeled every day, lounged on the beach and had a truly relaxing time. We were there in early December and there were people around, but Half Moon Bay was very quiet. The staff at Luna azul is very nice and helpful. Ramon takes great care of the beach and the beach chairs. We loved the fact that we could swim right out to the reef in Half Moon Bay for coral, fish, rays and turtles or walk to akumal Bay to see the big turtles or to Yal-Ku lagoon for a different kind of snorkelling experience.
Akumal feels very much like "gringoland", not Mexico, and the prices at restaurants and shops reflect that. But the locals are very nice and it is a great vacation location. We'd go back for sure!
We did not rent a car, but we were happy walking into town, about a mile, or renting bikes to buy groceries in the Pueblo. And we didn't take any day trips anywhere. If you don't want to walk and you get bored hanging out on the beach reading and snorkelling, then you'd probably want a car.Response from Akumal Direct Reservations - 03/09/2012

Victoria, CanadaOur new home in akumal
Left on 10/15/2011 for a stay in September 2011
This was our first condo stay in the area, and we could not have enjoyed our stay more.
Bodega Sur is a studio suite, but is very spacious for a couple. The King size bed is comfortable, and the amenities are very good. the new fridge is full size, and kept everything nice and cold. We stayed here for one week at the end of September, and it was very hot outside. We made our own coffee, and breakfasts. We bought a chicken dinner in akumal Pueblo one night, and enjoyed dinner on the beach. Our room stayed cool though as it is on ground level, away from the beach side of the condo. It has a private covered patio, wich is a nice place to hang out after being in the water, or on the beach all day.
My wife and I had the complex to ourselves for almost the entire week . We sat out in the lounge chairs on the beach, every morning, and evening, until well after dark watching thunder and lightning storms off in the distance.
Our weather was great the entire week, and we spent hours snorkelling in Halfmoon bay, and in akumal bay.
La Buena Vida Bar and resturaunt is a short walk down the beach, and we always had good food and drinks there.
There is a small store across the street from the condo complex for beer, tequila, ice etc.
We walked around the area up and down the street, and always felt safe. The locals are very friendly, and helpful.
The Staff at Luna azul were very nice, from the manager and the cleaning staff, to the night security.
Luna azul is a small complex, and it is so much nicer than staying at an all inclusive.
This place has a lot going for it; location on the bay, and close proximity to akumal villiage.
We cant wait to return!Response from Akumal Direct Reservations - 10/20/2011

Stillwater, MNLuna azul, Bodega Sur
Left on 04/16/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Very nice clean place to stay for a few days. We spent 3 days and thought it was just fine, till we had a whole day of rain. Then we found out we are really stuck in this basement unit with no windows to look out. We felt very claustraphobic.
The beach was not the greatest. The water was nice. We like a long walking beach which it does not have. The turtles were fun to watch. The lagoon was a great snorkel trip. For a few days and the price it would be just fine if the weather holds out for you. At least we were not in MN. -

Nice private room tucked away in the corner. Best part was no stairs to climb. Locals very friendly. Only wish for improvement would be to the main road running through town.

Hudson, NCSand & Snorkel hot spot
Left on 11/14/2008 for a stay in November 2008
We had a great time at Luna Azul, the sunrise was great, the beach area was fabulous, and the bay there was a great spot for snorkeling. We saw turtles daily and a few other surprises too. I'd defiantly recommend.

We totally enjoyed our stay..except the huge bug in our condo.. other than that we felt everything couldn't have been better. Staff was always cleaning the grounds/ condo's.. We really enjoyed the little enclosed patio outside our condo. We would love to come back.

Whittier, CAGreat beachfront location!
Left on 05/30/2008 for a stay in May 2008
Great location - easy walking distance to town and close to all restaurants for dinner! The beach was fairly rocky which made it difficult for swimming, but snorkelingw as good! Would have liked to have a pool, but overall it was a great place for the price!

Bemidji, MNGreat Stay in Mexico
Left on 04/26/2008 for a stay in February 2008
We stayed for a wedding and had a great time. The area is interesting, sight seeing is great and the property very nice. To see the greater area you need a car, although arrangements can be made for airport pickup and return. I would stay again.
