We recently returned from a two week vacation. Our time at Playa Blana was incredible . The location is excellent, the accommodations were perfect. Listening to the ocean from morning till night is my kind of holiday. My husband dives and akumel Dive adventures is right down the street. We rented bikes from the property managers $5.00 per day. House keeping was excellent really didn't need the full service every day but she insisted.the condo has two distinct areas so perfect for two couples or with kids. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have a full sized fridge.
The beach has soft sand the ocean is rocky, bring water shoes!
We used Miguel the suggested shuttle driver on the website. His service is excellent!
We would defiantly recommend and will be back! -

It was like having your own private beach, palapas and palm trees, right off your patio. It was comfortable, quiet and clean. The beach was spotless, no debree. The kitchen was fully equiped. The bedrooms were roomy.
Mari, Aukamal Rental, was great to deal with and the only flaw was the communication between the reservations office and the condo maid service. Once we let them know we were there, everything went well.
Our friends and I are planning on returning to Play Blanca,#2. It was a great find. -

We had a great holiday! The maid service was excellent, very clean. The house had everything that you would need, with the exception of a BBQ. That would be a nice touch for the future. We stayed in that same building on the third floor, and actually preferred the main floor. We were hesitant at first, thinking of safety, but that fear was soon but to ease. We took our three kids and actually found it very handy to be on the ground floor. We felt safe the whole time. It is very quiet in Akumal. We also loved that, because it was quiet, we really got to know our neighbors. We made some really good friends from Chile. The snorkelling right out our balcony, off the beach was the best! Also we spent a bit of time at Yal Ku, which is just a few blocks away. A must see. Look forward to coming back again!

Management visited every day to see if they could do anything for us. Could not ask for a nicer place and have visited Akumal every year for the past 12 years. Recommend to anyone, family, single persons, couples. Quiet and restful.

This was a very comfortable clean condo 30 ft. from the ocean. Fifteen min. walk to Akumal and there is a little grocery store a minute walk away. We loved the decor inside the condo and it offers free wi-fi. Great ocean view with a hammock on the lani. We had some problems with the toilets but they were fixed in a very timely matter. Maid service was very good. A short walk north on the beach there is less wave action and the water is crystal clear with good snorkeling out toward the waves. The owner has a binder with useful information. There are books, cd's, and movies. I would stay here again.

The only problem was that the local manager wasn't told we were going to be there, so we were lucky the condo was set up for guests and clean, etc. He wasn't very happy about our arrival, but then it worked out fine. I DID communicate this to Akumal Direct and they apologized...but you're asking for info, so aside from that, the location was nice and the place was comfortable. We would have preferred a place where we could have walked outside to the ocean and swam because we drove to the Akumal beach. That was lovely, so the drive was worth it. Actually, we just recommended it to some friends who were there this month.

We have been coming to Akumal for seven years now, but this was the first time at the Playa Blanca. It was a great place to stay......perfect location (almost center in Half Moon Bay) and very clean. I also liked that we were able to use the pool at another complex if we wanted.

We were guests in Akumal in March of 2008. The Playa Blanca location was excellent and the property was very well kept. We couldn't have been more happy. There is plenty to do in and around Akumal. Never a dull moment, unless you wanted it to be! We had a little problem with red ants in the kitchen area but I understand that's pretty normal. We also saw a few "roach-like bugs" in the back bedroom, but other than that the property was excellent! I would recommend a stay at Playa Blanca to anyone. Enjoy and relax!

stayed there right after a hurricane, so they were in the process of cleaning the property up. Only complaint, excessive little ants in the kitchen area.

We really enjoyed ourselves in Akumal. I think it was a little misleading as far as the shoppoing and food goes. The 'Grocery' stores are more like little rooms with a few staples. The restaurants were quite expensive and they were not very close to walk to especially with small children. Playa Blanca was a very nice place to rent out. The staff there were very nice and the place was very CLEAN. Overall we had a great time but It is wise to rent a car so you can get around a lot easier. I would recommend this plkace.
