My husband and three kids, ages 11,14, and 17 went to akumal over Christmas 2012 and stayed at La Bahia unit 3. It was a charming unit with two bedrooms, great beds by the way, and two very nice bathrooms, we loved the showers. The view out the front deck was amazing and we never got tired of the ocean breeze. The staff was helpful and friendly and we loved being able to walk or ride a rented bike to town every day. There is a nice kitchen with all the utensils you need to cook with and an excellent coffee maker. There were always enough lounge chairs on the beautiful beach to use and nice shade as well. We highly recommend staying at La Bahia unit 3.

This is a 2nd time at this condo...and I know what I am coming into! The view, the comfy bed, the bay just a flight of stairs away...the personable staff who keep it going. The only problem is the water pressure, or lack of it the middle of our week, but returned full force by the last 3 days. Small inconvenience for living in my bathing suit and snorkeling whenever I felt like it!

We spent two weeks here on the second floor in a two bedroom condo. My wife and I in one room and our friends in the second. The service was fantastic, keeping all rooms clean and even doing the dishing without us asking.
We only had one problem with the shower and it got fixed within a day. The place was fantastic!
Almost every night turtles came in to lay eggs on the beach and by the end of our stay our condos beach had four new nests.
The view of the beach and Half Moon Bay is fantastic and it has a nice breeze to keep you cool. I spent the afternoons reeding on the deck and never got tired of it.

We stayed at La Bahia #3 the "Mermaid Condo" on Half Moon Bay. The staff there were very kind and helpful. The maid kept our condo spotless and clean as a whistle. The location of this condo was absolutley perfect, because there couldn't be a more beautiful view of the sea and surf. Our accomodations were spacious and kept cool with the wonderful and constant ocean breeze. The only thing we found to be uncomfortable was the living room furniture. The restaurants that we went to in akumal were reasonably priced, had extraordinary food, and we returned to some of them more than once. The La Bahia building was beautiful and well maintained, as well as the beach in front of the condos, with very comfortable lounge chairs placed under the palm trees.
We had a superb time, and would definitely stay there again!
