Villa Margarita, ask for our specials and get a surprise!!!!!!!Jade Bay is a beautiful new area on the spectacular Riviera Maya south of Playa del Carmen. The bay forms a white coral sand, crescent beach that's similar to Akumal Bay, an easy stroll away. Villa Margarita is one of few villas on Jade Bay. The privacy and security is superb, yet a variety of shopping, restaurants, snorkeling and recreation are only minutes away. Villa Margarita provides over 3,000 square feet of luxurious living that can accommodate up to 10 guests. This lovely villa also offers full maid service and a grounds keeper 6 days per week. Continental breakfast is ser...ved daily, except weekends. There are four large air conditioned bedrooms, three upstairs and one down, each with it's own uniquely decorated bathroom and patio with ocean view. The individual decks open to private Caribbean ocean views and luxurious sea breezes. There will be no coin-toss for best bedroom in Villa Margarita, every bedroom is a master bedroom! Three of the bedrooms have fixed king-size beds and one has a king that can separate into two twins; an arrangement for any group. Also, on the second floor there is an air conditioned and fully equipped satellite TV room with VCR and DVD player, 2 futon sofa beds, shared bathroom and its own private patio overlooking the jungle and the village of Akumal. The living room and dining room face the ocean on the first floor where a wall of sliding patio doors invites you to enjoy the refreshing pool only 3 steps away as well as the Caribbean surf just beyond. Behind, as you face the ocean, is a sit-up bar connected to the kitchen via an open archway. Two steps lift you to the foyer, splashed in natural light spilling in from the cupola above. You look up through the oval opening in the ceiling, through the second floor with its iron railing, to the ceiling of the second floor where a high, brick domed cupola spills natural light throughout! There are ceiling fans everywhere. Off the foyer you enter the modern and fully equipped kitchen with an expansive view over the bar to the dining room and beyond to the pool and ocean - a perfect place to prepare a meal or those Margaritas for Happy Hour around the pool. If you prefer casual outdoor cooking, you will want to use the propane fired barbecue and outdoor kitchen and wet bar located beside the front entrance. Off of the foyer and near the stairs, you will find the half bath/ powder room as well as the entrance to the main floor bedroom. The furnishings are Mexican with brilliant Caribbean style fabrics. From the living room and dining room you exit to a covered patio that borders the refreshing pool with safe depths for kids and adults. Need to call family or friends? The house is equipped with a telephone. Just pick up a calling card in town. High speed internet is only a mile up the beach in Akumal. Imagine yourself swaying in a hammock under the beachside palapa or relaxing in a poolside lounge, looking out to the turquoise ocean, enjoying the gentle breeze and the rustle of coconut palms. Cruise the bay in the villa's sea kayaks. Try a guided fishing tour, snorkel trip or scuba dive for an exciting day. Heaven might be a copy of this! If you prefer an even higher perch for afternoon sunning, evening cocktails or star gazing at night, take the spiral stairway to the panoramic roof for a fantastic view of the surrounding ocean and jungle. You can even sleep under the stars! Continental breakfast of toast, butter & jam, cereal and sweet rolls with coffee, juice and milk will be served Monday - Friday by the maid who is an excellent cook. Home cooked Mexican meals can be prepared and served for you with a minimum of 48 hours notice. Upon request and also with just a minimum of 48 hours notice, a free meal will be provided with reservations of 7 days or more.   I confess I was anxious when we booked VM for our 8 day stay, because of the relatively few reviews here (and elsewhere) and none very recent. That said, the house, its location, and our interaction with the house manager and staff exceeded our every expectation.
  The house is perfect for a large group -- we were my wife & I, our 2 adult daughters plus 2 other adults. All 4 bedrooms have their own private bath, and every bedroom has its own deck. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their privacy.
  The house is very clean and well kept. Is is as nice as the houses next door which rent for 2 - 3 times as much per week? Probably not. But who cares unless you need Bosch appliances and 100 count linen everywhere you go.
  The staff were fantastic and went above and beyond. The cook/house cleaner comes every morning except Sunday. She was offended when we did our own dishes from the day before as part of her job was to clean the kitchen including all our dishes from the day before. Without asking, she made fresh salsa and guacamole every afternoon from the produce we bought each day. She thoroughly cleaned the entire house, including scrubbing down all the bathrooms every day.
  The caretaker cleaned and vacuumed the pool every morning, and swept and raked the beach. He was very helpful with a couple of minor issues we had and promptly took care of them.
  The house sits right on the beach. Directly in front of the house the beach is sandy but the entrance to the water is pretty rocky. We found it not an issue at all to walk the short distance (100 yards?) south down the beach in front of the Akumal Beach Villas where there is a nice sandy beach entrance.
  It's a 10 minute walk north on the beach to Akumal where there are restaurants (5 of 6), a fabulous sandy beach, a few shops, and a couple of dive shops and fishing charters. The snorkeling in Akumal is fabulous. We saw lots of turtles, rays, and colorful fish.
  The South Akumal area which includes VM and the 8 or nine houses to the north (toward town) and the houses to the south are served by a security service. Every night at 6 pm the security guy blocked the road outside the house and checked every car that wanted to pass. And there were 3 guys up and down the beach and between houses all night long.

  The house is 100 times better than the pictures. So shady and tropical. There are ao many places to sit back and rejuvenate. Every need is accounted for throughout the house. The managers before and during our stay were most accommodating. The location is a perfect jumping point to all the sites in and around the area.

  The only issue we had was the air conditioners were noising and seemed to freeze up and then leak water. We only ran before going to bed and then at maybe 24 or 25. They were also noisy. Otherwise, very nice and worked great.

  Great stay in a great place

  This is the second year we visit Villa Margarita. We fell in love last year with it and decided to repeat the story.
  The house is very comfortable and is able to accomodate a party of 10 without problems (in our case it was 10 of us plus 2 babies). Everything is very clean and very well maintained. Rooms are spacious and all have their own bathroom. House staff is very helpful and friendly.
  Ths house has 24 hour security, during the day the handyman looks after the house and at nigh there is a security guard hired by the owners. Although the area is very safe this "detail" provided us with great comfort.
  The house sits by a very beautiful unspoiled beach. The reef meets the sand and is very easy to watch sea life a few steps from the door.
  This characteristc though makes swimming a little difficult (specially for children) since there is no clean-of-coral acces to the sea. Nontheless, just half a mile walk to Akumal beach sorts out this problem
  All in all a great place that we highly recomend.

  Amazing Vacation

  Skip Cancun- everything you want to do is down by Akumal anyway! The food was amazing, and the accomodations perfectly relaxing. Take the trip over to snorkel in the lagoon! The cave snorkeling trip nearby is also well worth it. But if you never leave the house, you would still have an amazing vacation!
