Beautiful House 15 minutes from main airport (SJO)

This beautiful house is just 15 minute drive from the main airport Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in the Central Valley. It is located in a nice quiet neighborhood, a short drive from downtown Alajuela a charming town where you can find all the amenities of a city such as shopping, theatres, restaurants and plenty of cultural life. If you don't have a car, the easiest transportation from the house is the bus system to downtown Alajuela. The bus stops just 10 meters from the house. You can enjoy downtown Alajuela or go anywhere in the country by bus or taxi. The location is ideal as a central point to make day-trips to volcanoes,... mountains and the beach. NO four-wheel drive required, the roads are perfect.

The house’s location is known for having the BEST climate in the world, the temperature is perfect all year-round. The Central Valley is surrounded by mountains, which give the area a perfect breeze and a great amount of sunlight, it feels like paradise. The mountains view from the house is spectacular and you will enjoy amazing weather.

The house has been completely re-modeled. Recently we installed Spanish ceramic tile throughout the house and increased the size of the living space. The appliances are brand new, as well as most of the furniture.

It has two nice cozy bedrooms and one large bathroom, which accommodates four people. However more people are welcome. The house has very large windows which allow for lots of natural light.

The location is a central point for day-trips to volcanoes, mountains and the beach. Our favorite day-trip from the house is to the beautiful active Poas Volcano and National Park located 25 Km or 30 minutes drive from the house. This Volcano has an amazing 1.6 Km diameter crater and its lake Botos is located 1 Km from the crater, the vegetation is unique and truly exotic, have your camera ready…

Another recommended day-trip is to Jaco Beach, Herradura beach or Dona Ana beach in the Pacific Coast located 88 Km West from the house. The road is well paved and suitable for traveling in any weather. Jaco is famous for its amazing waves suitable for surfing!

For a taste of typical Costa Rican food there are several restaurants in the area. We recommend 'La Garita' a 10 minute drive from the house, our favorite is 'Las Delicias del Maiz' but there are many more. Once there, visit the Zoo-Ave to experience a variety of tropical birds and wildlife and the Butterfly Farm in the same area. For more restaurants, shopping and all services visit downtown Alajuela only 20 minutes from the house. For a taste of the finest Costa Rican art crafts visit Sarchi, a town located 25 minutes from the house. You will enjoy the drive through sugar cane and coffee plantations.

Costa Rica has plenty of public transportation to anywhere in the country. It is a small country where you can go from volcanoes to beaches on a day trip.

  Amazing trip

  The house is ideally located, 20 minutes drive from the International airport San Jose. You can then relax with a glass of fresh juice in the nice and quiet backyard. The house is very well furnished, very functional. We had refreshing breakfast, with fresh pineapple, mangoes or passion fruits. We experienced and enjoyed the "sodas" local Costa Rican restaurants to eat "ceviche" or "casado" with chicken ,beef or fish Delicious! We will always remember the taste and smell of this country.
  This house is also located on the way to the "Poas", one of the most famous volcano of the country. Just 30 minutes drive through coffee plantations and you reach the top of the "Poas". Get up early to enjoy the view and discover its beautiful crater!
  About 1hour drive to the Pacific Coast, you can visit several parks We went to Carrara park and discovered the variety of fauna and flora. Our kids we amazed by the monkeys, many insects, beautiful birds, lizards and iguanes. To the delight of my son, we could even see crocodiles in the mangroves.
  We also, of course, enjoyed the beaches and the Pacific Ocean on the way to Jaco. We recommend highly Santa ana beach (Puntarenas area), a taste of paradise. Because of the off-season, we enjoyed a beautiful sandy cove blank black, just for our family. A lot of fun swimming in the waves and games!
  
  In short, We came back delighted with our trip. My oldest old son even explained it in details to his classroom.
  We didn't have time to explore the Carribbean Coast but for sure another trip in this country is already in our minds !
