My husband and I stayed at this villa as a final holiday before our baby is due. It was quite fun having this huge place to ourselves. It was a really restful time and although the weather in March was quite rainy and cold, we still had a good break but would probably go in the summer next time! The house is well situated, nicely decorated and clean. Marie the owner was always available to help whenever needed and gave such a warm welcome. I would recommend having a car for staying in this area as it is easily accessible to lots of nearby beaches and supermarket etc. Was only about 30 mins drive from Faro airport. We enjoyed it and don't have any negative comments to make, it was just the right thing for us!

As described on the website, there are 4 rooms with each a private bathroom. A lovely very well decorated house, very clean, in which you feel instantaneously at home.
The villa is well situated near the beach and some attractive towns. No problem also for the first shopping , as a very big shopping center is near the villa ( 5 minutes ) and ensures you to have a good start with a full fridge!
Rooms, living, kitchen, terrace with barbecue, swimming pool ... even much better as the few nice photos on the website.
There is really space enough for a big family, or with some friends like our stay.
I will not get any further with the report of the house on trip advisor, as the website is very accurate and describes exactly the location.
The support and the advice from Marie and Rolland (owners) was outstanding and very helpful as we had never been to Portugal before.
Thanks' once again for the warm welcome we get on our first day!
We visited some nice marinas ( I remember specially Villamoura ), the town of albufeira ,...we get to the beach and of course spend some time near the sunny pool at the villa.
Sincerely, one of our best location ever found on holiday, with an outstanding price/value ratio

Un accueil irréprochable, des propriétaires très sympathiques et une maison où tout est pensé il ne manque rien comme à la maison, des prestations de hautes qualités.
Située tout à côté du centre commercial et pas très loin des plages et de la commune d'Albufeira cela permet de sortir le soir sans faire des kilomètres, il faut toutefois un véhicule pour se déplacer.
La nouvelle prestation possible avec le propriétaire est sans doute la cerise sur le gâteau, une sortie en bateau permettant de voir la côte magnifique de la mer. Un vrai séjour de rêve c'est pour cette raison que nous y sommes revenus.Response from maria lopes - 06/21/2012

Features of the house were even better than described. Large, very comfortable house for 8 people. Attractive pool and BBQ area. Towels changed twice a week, bedding and overall cleaning once a week. The host, Marie, is extremely charming, welcoming and helpful. Up to 10 quite different beaches are between 8-15 minutes away. Lots to do and see in the area. Many good restaurants nearby. Big shopping centre, including large supermarket only 5 minutes away.

Cannot compliment Marie more on her lovely villa and how welcome she made us. She was the perfect host. I have never before written a trip advisor review, but could not fail to add to the recommendations which encouraged me to book here.
Marie met us, smiling and helpful at the airport (we needed to meet her there because we wanted to borrow her baby car seat), we then followed her to the villa which was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. Marie then showed us proudly around the rooms of the villa, which was a friendly touch.
Our group comprised a toddler (18 months), parents, and grandparents (5 people in all), and the villa was perfect for our needs. It is away from the hustle and bustle of albufeira, (but near enough should you want to go there) and wonderfully quiet, yet only minutes from algarve Shopping Mall, with a huge Continente supermarket, and a short drive from numerous beaches and restaurants. It is in a private development of only 8 or so villas in a tiny hamlet between Guia and albufeira (the hamlet's name begins with a T, but is not even named on Google maps). Marie lives next door, which was reassuring, but we never once felt encroached upon. She was there should we have needed her, but we were left alone. The balance was just right.
The pool temperature was cool (it was September/October!) but we still used it almost every day. The barbecue area was brilliant, the chimney had a good draw and so it worked well, again we used it at least once a day. The grounds of the villa were lovely; mature bougainvillea, hibiscus, oleander, and other tropical species. (Marie even apologised for the trees dropping leaves on the patio! It is autumn, and we didn't mind at all!) We saw lots of friendly sparrows and even the occasional lizard on the garden wall. If I could offer one improvement it would be to plant a couple of hardy herbs such as rosemary and thyme to help with the cooking!
The garden is not at all overlooked which is also nice if you like privacy, and the pool loungers are very comfortable - they look odd as they are low to the ground, but once you've got the hang of getting into them they are great as you can rock them into a variety of positions! There was one higher pool lounger if you would struggle to get into a low one, and plenty of other chairs. There is even a roof terrace with views across the valley. The poolside is picturesque lit up at night, and as the weather was warm well into the evening we sat out there on many nights. I think the hammock you see in the pictures may be no more, though, as it was nowhere to be seen.
Inside, the villa is lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped - many pots pans etc, even a food mixer, juicer, weighing scales and other gadgets! The only thing I would warn is caution with the knobs on the kitchen cupboards - they have little serrated suns on them, which had a habit of snagging our clothes! There was even a supply of garlic, sea salt and a few other condiments, which was helpful. The fridge is also very large, and there is a small freezer compartment for ice-cream. We mostly cooked for ourselves, so to have such a practical kitchen was really useful.
The air conditioning was great, and very efficient - a separate remote-controlled unit in each room with a variety of settings. The bedrooms were lovely, all a good size, nice bathrooms. My mum wasn't so keen on the fact that neither of the family bathroom doors locked, which could be a problem if you were worried about that sort of thing - on the flip side, a child can't lock themselves in, at least. The beds were firm, so you might not get on well if you like a soft bed - it did mean that I didn't want to laze in bed all day, which was no bad thing!
For us, the baby equipment was so helpful, bedlinen, towels, bibs, toilet seat, potty, high chair, push chair, a 'proper' cot (not a travel cot, thank goodness!) with a unit next to it for baby changing, washing machine - it made things so easy for us. There were even a few beach and pool toys. We used the wifi intenet access to look on google maps to find some nearby playgrounds - there is a reasonably large one on the outskirts of albufeira, just past the dolphin roundabout, or a nearer, smaller one just past the mall and industrial units on the N125 towards Guia. Local kids were friendly (as were all local people we met!).
Continente supermarket is great, and huge, but if you want a really good meat counter, we can recommend apolonia in Galé, the quality is much higher (though pricier) and the butchers are helpful with cooking tips. The egg custard tarts in Continente are good, but many of the pre-prepared cakes in the chiller cabinet were disappointing for the money! Their takeaway chicken is good value for an easy meal, and tasty.
We would also recommend eating at Ramires Piri Piri chicken restaurant in Guia, the 'home' of piri piri chicken! The reviews on trip advisor are mixed, but we can only side with the good ones. The bill (including soft drinks) came to 50 Euros which was very reasonable since we were all good eaters and very full of yummy chicken afterwards!
We would recommend the main Salgados beach for the nature reserve just beyond the beach - you can see wild turtles from the bridge, and flamingos in the water beyond! Or the beach east of Galé (think it may also be Salgados beach, which is slightly confusing!) which has helpful cliffs (small ones) for natural shade and is a lot quieter, with a rough and ready car park, although there is still a lifeguard. No need to worry about a trek to either, the car parks are very close to the beaches at both these points, although the sea is rougher at the Galé end and there is a strong undertow there, so we swum less there. Both are very close - 15 minutes or so by car, so fine for just a couple of hours if you're going with a toddler. There are probably better beaches further afield, or ones with more amenities if that's what you're after, but these two were perfect for our needs.
We had a great time and would happily book the villa for another holiday in the algarve if we decide to visit again!

The owner, Maria, was amazing! Such a lovely lady who welcomed us into her own house while the villa was being cleaned (we arrived early) and could not do enough to make us comfortable. It was so lovely to be greeted so warmly after a long journey with a toddler. The villa was beautiful and very well equipped, with everything that we needed for a relaxing break and lots of little extras to make our stay comfortable. The weather was amazing and the beaches in the area beautiful. The villa is perfectly situated in walking distance to a lovely restaurant and a short drive to a shopping centre for food etc. The vino verdi was delicious too. Thank you Maria, we will be back xxx

Maria nos esperaba con un detalle de bienvenida (¡sorpresa!), nos ha dado muy buenas indicaciones de playas, sitios que visitar, recomendaciones muy útiles, etc.

We (a group of 5 friends from Switzerland) had a wonderful stay at the villa! It's very beautiful, spacious and cosy. We especially enjoyed the wonderful terrasse with the nice pool. It was always great to return to the villa from our daily trips to the outstandingly beautiful beaches and towns (everything is close by, though you definitively need a car in the algarve)and we enjoyed many nice barbecues (with super-fresh fish from the close-by shop). Everyone can see that Marie enjoys her job as a landlady very much: all the nice details regarding the interior design, everything is working/functioning perfectly, she also put two very helpful visitor files together with information on all the beaches, restaurants, shopping possibilities, things to see, guides to call, maps, tours, emergency numbers etc. Thank you so much, Marie, for all your help and the warm welcome (she picked us up in albufeira). We will definitively return:-)

From the moment we arrived at Faro airport, Maria and her family made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble - particularly given the fact that our flight was delayed more than eight hours! Throughout the week, Maria was available if we needed her, but also respected our privacy so that we could enjoy the villa and the surroundings.
The villa is faultless - the attention to detail in terms of layout and decor were just fantastic; it really made it feel like home away from home (albeit a lot warmer!). There's plenty of space for up to eight people - the rooms are a good size and there's plenty of seating available in the house as well as beside the pool.
The villa has everything you need - towels, linen, kitchen equipment, bbq, pool etc. It was also in very good condition and very, very clean.
Being out of town this is the perfect location if you just want to relax and lay by the pool, bbq and chill out. The large shopping mall - Algarve shopping - is about a 15 minute walk down a dirt track, past farmland and alongside the new five star hotel that's being built next to the vineyard. But, unless you're a keen walker, you would need to organise car hire or cabs. We used Miralgarve cab company who were very good.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Richards Villa and we had a brilliant time.
Maria and her family were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.
We arrived at the villa later than expected as we had an eight and half hour flight delay so Maria and her husband dropped us off at a restaurant, they were so helpful. On our first full day Maria's husband even took our men to their to the golf course where they had book a round, I'd say that all this was far beyond the 'call of duty'

we rented this villa in july we were 2 adults and 2 childrens,the villa is so well decorated,the parents room is on suite with mosaique bathroom,swiming pool big enough,living room with open view to the swiming pool,we had a fantastic stay,the villa is well situated not far from the main shopping mall,and guia a typical portugues village,you will need a car, i recommand this villa we had a fantastic stay and a special thank you to Marie the property owner she made our stay so pleasant.

A beautiful 3 bedrooms villa with all confort and space. The owners are very friendly and do their best to ease the stay and to advise nice places to visit. We will come back in 2011.
