This house is in a great location. You feel like you are in the middle of the woods but dwontown ashville is only minutes away. The house was spotless and well-equipped. We really enjoyed the special touches provided for our two dogs. We hope to return in the future!
Hidden Pond was a hidden treasure.

Hidden Pond was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We arrived late at night and access to the property was easy and everything was in tip top shape upon our arrival. There are few things nicer than getting in out of a heavy thunderstorm to a secluded -- yet not isolated-- cabin that swelled of fresh pine and central air conditioning. All the appliance were new and worked great. Everything was clean and plenty of everything. The location was perfect for visiting asheville. It only took about 15 minutes to get the center of town and yet with all the trees on the property you felt like your were in the woods. I would only mention two things: 1. we never found the light switch for the overhead light in the loft sleeping area and 2. The photos on your website did not do justice to the property. Read more
Thank you for writing such a glowing review of Hidden Pond! It sounds like you were quite pleased with your stay there. It is such a nice, comfortable home, and, as you said, for being surrounded by wilderness, it's so convenient to Asheville. Plus, the hot tub and huge outdoor entertainment area make it extra enjoyable. We're glad to hear that you found everything well stocked and clean. We hope to hear from you again soon! --The Carolina Mornings Team

We were suppose to be there for 4 nights but unfortunately my domestic partner called to say he was feeling very ill and was going to the hospital. So, we left the next morning without completing our stay. We were only there for 2 nights. We got on the road and found out he didn't go to the hospital after all. By then we had already driven too far to return. I'm not sure if I can get any kind of a refund but, of course, if I could it would be most appreciated. We were very disappointed that we didn't get to stay the full time.
The house was nice enough, but I was hoping for more.

I liked the house fairly well, but it's right next to the road and doesn't have much in the way of landscaping to suggest you are "hidden." And if there is a hidden pond, it's so well hidden that we couldn't find it at all.
The house had most of the dishes that we needed, comfortable beds, and it was very clean. The one serious issue that we encountered was that the running water kept cutting off and then we had to contact a staff member to drive out to the house to flip a switch in the locked basement to turn it back on. This proved to be enormously inconvenient when we returned late in the day from a hike and wanted to shower and cook dinner. Since it happened multiple times during our weekend stay, it clearly is a frequent enough occurance that it should be handled better.
Great birthday get away!

We had a great long weekend at hidden pond. My husband and my best friend celebrate their birthdays in the same week in October. We decided to get together in ashville to celebrate. The cottage was beautiful and nicely equipped. We enjoyed the front porch and the hot tub. Upon arrival the beds were nicely made, lots of towels and a beautifully clean cabin greated us. We had a problem with the hot tub and it was serviced almost before I hung up the phone. We would definitely stay at Hidden Pond again. Read more
The Carolina Mornings Team is so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Hidden Pond! This is a beautiful log cabin with great amenities, as you discovered, like the hot tub and master bath jetted tub, and that long front porch for enjoying the weather. Thanks for mentioning that we were able to service the hot tub right away. It’s nice to know that the comforts of the cabin met your expectations; we always strive to provide cleanliness and plenty of linens. We hope that birthday celebration was a good time for your group and you'll come visit us again next time!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your stay at Hidden Pond. This is a beautiful vacation home, and it does give the best of both worlds, the secluded mountain views and convenience to downtown Asheville. It sounds like you had a relaxing getaway, and we’re pleased that you liked the property. We hope that when you come back to visit North Carolina again, you’ll be in touch with us at Carolina Mornings!
Wonderful cabin for a weekend getaway with friends!

This cabin is exactly as it appears online. The place was extremely well stocked with everything you could need for a great trip. The front porch with it's rocking chairs and large back patio with a hot tub are great places to relax and catch up. The kitchen was a perfect meeting place for friends and family to gather. It's a quick drive to downtown asheville and the airport. The only small disappointment was that, while it is tucked within some trees- it is not quite as "rustic" of a location as it seems online. It is in a relatively busy neighborhood, though it sits off the road and you feel as if you are secluded. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great weekend away! Read more
Thank you for your wonderful review! This is a beautiful and relaxing property, and we are glad you had a great time. This property does combine the closeness to downtown Asheville and the airport with the privacy and comfort of a mountain cabin, but let us know next time if you want a more “rustic” and secluded location – we have plenty of those. Come again soon!
Girls Getaway at the Pond

The property was very clean and cozy. Beautiful cabin inside with everything you could need. My only real critic would be for the price the cabin was a little small. The cabin claims to sleep 8 and it was a borderline cramped with 6 of us. It has two bathrooms, but one of them was extremely tiny. Six girls getting ready everyday was somewhat of a challenge. Also, we never did figure out how to keep the lights on outside at night when we were enjoying the hottub. No directions and only "motion sensor" lights as far as we could tell. Overall, the trip was still awesome, I'd recommend the cabin for smaller groups, or even a singly family. It's a gorgeous cabin, although we never found the "Hidden Pond" :) Read more
We are happy to hear that you had a getaway with the ladies at Hidden Pond! We are checking into the lights near the hot tub- thank you for pointing this out. We do understand what you are saying about 6 gals getting ready in 2 bathrooms- that can be tough! As listed on the website, there are four beds (sleeping eight) and two bathrooms. We do apologize that you felt it too small for your party. Please do contact us again when your travels bring you to western NC- we can help steer you in the right direction for all of your needs.

We came to asheville to see the famed Biltmore Estates, which was breathtaking, however if not for the relaxing atmosphere of our cabin at Hidden Pond we would not have been as well rested and ready to go on our all day tour of Downtown asheville or the cover the many destinations at Biltmore. The cabin was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The only thing we would have asked for in addition was a few more towels. Otherwise no problems. I will rent from them again in the future. We decided to spend 3 days in Asheville for a long weekend. My husband and I brought our 2 dogs along, and they too loved it! Our stay at Hidden Pond was lovely! It is in a very convenient location and the house is beautiful and comfortable. There had been a big storm right before we arrived with many trees down, etc, but everything was ready for us when we arrived. I would recommend Hidden Pond to anyone staying in the Asheville area, and I would definitely stay there again. The staff of Asheville Connections were very friendly and helpful.
Thank you for your feedback and so happy you enjoyed your stay at Hidden Pond. However, Hidden Pond is part of Carolina Mornings Vacation Rentals. I hope you enjoyed working with the staff at Carolina Mornings (as AC is our competitor).

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Hidden Pond. The location is perfect with easy access to local attractions. Way back, when the owners bought the property, there was a pond located behind the property (the property sits on 2.5 acres) and through the woods. The pond is still there, however one has to traipse through the unmarked paths, not something most would like to do. I certainly agree, it is not a property to take walks on. However, when the weather is nicer, the hot tub does back up to the 2.5 acres and it is lovely.
Perfect relaxating no-stress weekend!

My kids are in college in Knoxville and I live in Florida, so we frequently meet in the middle to enjoy some family time. We stayed at HIDDEN POND CABIN and had the most incredible weekend. We sat on the porch and drank coffee and enjoyed a world-class view of the mountains (they already had snow on them!), ate family meals together, and played card games in the evening. The cabin is well equipped and has a foosball table which we took advantage of almost every day. We went for walks, and even saw a little black bear cub!
If you're looking for a great getaway, this is it! The management company is exception, as well. Every detail was taken care of and with such a gracious attitude.
Thank you for your feedback. However the property you stayed at was High Acres. Hidden Pond does not have a view, nor a foosball table. I am thrilled you enjoyed High Acres! It is in a lovely setting and the mountains are beautiful.

This is a very pretty, clean and well decorated home. The hot tub was wonderful! We had to adjust to the roosters next door but still had a wonderful stay! The gas stove really kept the den warm- though since heat rises, the loft was extra warm!
All in all, it was a great stay and we loved your beautiful home! We would definitely recommend it as a great place to stay while visiting in the Asheville area!
Christmas Getaway to Asheville

Hidden Pond was the perfect lodging for my family's Christmas getaway to Asheville. There were eight of us-- six adults and two children and it was our first stay in a vacation rental together. If we'd stayed in a hotel in suites and adjoining rooms, we wouldn't have had the extra space, the privacy when needed or the homey charm Hidden Pond offered-- and we would've paid more for the hotel. The accomodations were very nice and the location was very convenient to Asheville attractions. We had a great time!

Our five day stay at Hidden Pond was wonderful. The cabin is beautiful and very cozy and comfortable. Everything so new!! We felt right at home. We had problems learning our way back and forth from Asheville but by the third day we learned our way. That was the only complaint we had: finding the house at night. We would love to return soon. Thanks for everything.

We had a super stay at Hidden Pond. Very much enjoyed the accommodations, the wooded scenery and the peace and quiet. Even when things did not go as planned (no running water one night), the on-call repairman quickly came and remedied the situation. The place was perfect for a newborn, a dog, and sets of new parents and grandparents (as was our case). We would love to return to Hidden Pond. The location was ideal, only 10 minutes from downtown Asheville, yet off the beaten path. Thanks for having us! PS Bring charcoal and a chimney starter/lighter fluid.

Wonderful! Huge deck with great hot tub, really close to grocery store & not too far from Asheville. Not too secluded (right off road, in between two houses), but house is immaculate and clean! Only complaint was dishwasher but no detergent (minor). Also, no hiking directly from house, but trails close by
Nice cabin wrong location

This cabin was very nice and clean. Would stay again if they could move it to a new location. The location is really just on the outskirts of Ashville and doesn't give you the feeling of being "in the mountains". There are several residential homes close by. One issue with the cabin was the hot tub would not heat up and we couldn't get anyone out to fix it. Additionally, there wasn't a fireplace (gas stove instead). The gas tends to smell and dry out the air. The saying "location, location, location" is a real negative for this cabin.

I thought it would be nice to take my boyfriend out of town for his birthday without any children. Little did I know the AC was not working in the cabin so Friday evening was spent with my boyfriend and two workers from Carolina Mornings. Instead of a private Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend our company now included one worker from Carolina Morning and the AC guy. It was not exactly the alone weekend I was looking for.

We had a rough start after a long tiring drive. The published directions were wrong. There was a crucial turn to the left but the instructions said right. Thank God the rental agent was still in when we called late in the day. He helped us get there, and then the code we were given was wrong. Good golly miss molly, but we finally got in. The cabin is quite nice, the water pressure was low, the hottub needs a privacy screen on the driveway side probably until the leaves are fully out, but it is great that is is pet friendly with a wonderful vet-family benefit. It is close to a great grocery and Asheville is a wonderful "oldtown" to visit.

Three friends and myself stayed at this wonderful cabin. The cabin is spacious and very clean. The hot tub was perfect for the nights under the stars. Also it is pet friendly and my two beagles had a great time.
The town is nearby so you don't need to pack up all your groceries before you leave home. If you rent this cabin you won't be disappointed. We had a great time.
