Description from the manager
The owner's inspiration for the cabin's name comes from his great uncle's pub in Dublin, Ireland called "The Wee Keg." Both places are charming, cozy and welcoming on the inside.
Walk around the corner and down the hill to the Meadow Mountain Cafe for a breakfast to die for. When you're done, take a long shower in the bathroom. Put on your hiking gear and head over to a nearby trail. Once you've hiked for a few hours, return home and make some tuna fish sandwiches in the fully furnished kitchen.
If it's nice out, you can enjoy your meal at the picnic table. There's an umbrella in case it starts sprinkling. Other features of this h...Read more

Overland Park, KSCozy but comfy
Left on 10/20/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We recently spent 4 nights at the Wee Cabin. I must admit that when we drove up I was a bit disappointed...the "grass" was not mowed and this gave a bit of an unkempt appearance. The chiminea was in a broken pile in a bin by the driveway (bummer!). Once we were inside, it is indeed a cozy little place. Very comfortable for two...possibly four. The instructions for operation of the heating system and wood burning stove were missing. Actually, the only instructions found were for the dish tv.
Despite this, the cabin has a homey feel and fit our needs exactly. The grill worked fine as did the stove, etc. in the little kitchen. We saw deer in the backyard and enjoyed the changing of the autumn leaves. The basket of goodies was a nice touch. Since the master BR is up a rather skinny, twisty staircase, this might not be the best bet for less mobile folks. (I sprained my ankle and couldn't climb the stairs, had to sleep on the couch--it was quite comfortable.)
Surprisingly, there is a large collection of DVD movies and one pair of snowshoes (why only one?). Plenty of soap, towels, TP for two. Clean.
With its central location on the Peak to Peak highway, we would consider staying again. Next time, however, might consider a bigger place if the family comes along. -

We arrived on Thursday and found the cabin clean with sufficient ameniies. We had a good time while we stayed at the cabin. We went to our cousins wedding and visited Estes Park on Saturday. I would recommend the cabin to other people.

This place is great for a small family looking to get out away from the city. We spent a week in the cabin in august of 2011 and are planning our return trip using Pinebrook Vacation Rentals. Sandy Was so nice and helpful. They don't call it the Wee cabin for nothing as a 6'3" man I was constanly having to duck down to walk thru the doorways of the cabin. Like others have posted the bathroom was a little rough. you might want to bring some shower shoes. The cabin was very cozy and after long hikes during the day My wife and I would grill out on the patio. As far as the person who complained about the neighbor Im sorry you had to go thru that i had a chance to talk with him and him seemed very nice and was very help in telling us about some local trails.Maybe it was because we both shared an interest in training jiu jitsu. This place had everything you need to not totally ruff it in the woods. The upstairs bed is not a king but more less two twins pushed together so it made cuddle time a little hard but with the lovely nature trails and horseback riding who wants to stay in bed all day. We loved that we were able to bring our dog Fatman and he was able to play with the neighbors dog, just be sure to keep an eye on your pet cause one night we had some wildlife visit. The place is perfect for the small family looking to get away.
Also don't forget to try the Meadow Mountain Cafe located just around the corner from the cabin. Great food and friendly staff.Response from Pinebrook Vacation Rentals - 06/01/2012

Thank you for your review. Recently the entire bathroom has been remodeled with an all tile shower, new tile on the floor, new sink and cabinet. Nothing "rough" about the bathroom now. It's great!

Fort WorthNice little cabin, lousy neighbor
Left on 07/21/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The cabin was neat and clean for the most part. The shower was in pretty rough condition, though. There was a late season snow storm that blew in the afternoon we arrived and a large amount of snow accumulated at the end of the driveway at the bottom of a decline to the cabin. Rather than drive all the way to the end and get our car stuck in the snowbank we parked half way down the driveway. The next door neighbor came out and began screaming profanities at us for not parking all the way to the end of the property we had rented. I guess he uses the property to drive his car on to. Needless to say, we have never been treated so rudely by anyone like that before. That left us with a bad taste of allenspark. I would not return.

We now have a completely updated bathroom with new tile shower, new tile floor and new sink and cabinet.
Evidently our guests parked in an area that gave access to the neighbors driveway. -

Monvovia, CaliforniaThe wee or weak Cabin??
Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011
While the cabin was very clean...and that's a plus, the ammenties were very 'weak' like wine glasses with no corkscrew; very limited kitchen utensils; shower only (no bathtub) and a shower door that was a challenge to work; no indoor dining area so if it's raining outside, windy or cold, good luck. No where to eat...unless you balance your plate on your lap in the living room area where the TV is. No staples provided like spices, cleaning items, etc. Two out of the four plastic wear glasses were cracked and leaked when my son wanted a glass of milk. We wanted to go to the thrift shop in Estes to stock the cabin with at least a wire whisp and spatula! On the plus side, like I said, it was clean, had tons of Dvd's for viewing and some game boards which we did enjoy. That was good. It was close to where we needed to be (Meeker Lodge) for a conference for my husband's work. That's why we were there. The horse back riding at the nearby stables was a highlight for myself and our son. The cafes within walking distance were great...and since the wee cabin's kitchen was a challenge to cook in, we went out most of the time. We did BBQ one night but there wasn't even BBQ utensils to turn over steaks and hot dogs... I think if the owners put in just a little bit of money into a few more items, it would be better. For instance, the coffee pot was so small, it served barely two small cups of coffee...if you were traveling with more adults, that would be bothersome. We had to make several 'pots' each morning for just two adults. Our son did love the nearby dogs that came over for a visit (since we had to leave our three dogs back home in California) and the next door cabin's son...that was the biggest plus for our son!

We have a totally updated bathroom with new tiled shower, new tile on floor and new sink with cabinet. It's very nice. There has always been a small table in the kitchen for eating and a large coffee table around the sofa in the living room - not sure what was meant by "only being able to balance your plate on your lap". There is also a great picnic table on the patio. The kitchen is fully equipped and we add new things periodically.
The Wee Cabin is small but very sweet and cozy for a family of four. Keep posted as more upgrades are being planned. -

Family of three spent three nights in the Wee Little Cabin and could not have been happier. Pinebrook Vacation Rentals were friendly and responsive (including a very speedy return of the cleaning deposit). The Cabin is charming, very clean, and adequately equipped for the basic cooking needs. We also enjoyed snuggling up with a movie after a long day hiking - the hard part was picking just one from the huge selection. Beds were comfy, shower was excellent. Location also was great, very easy to get to good hiking spots as well as to go into Estes Park. Would gladly stay again and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain getaway.

I rented the Wee Cabin to celebrate my birthday with my friends. It was cute and cozy. We spent most of the time outside on the patio enjoying the beautiful weather and the nice view. The beds were extremely comfortable, the cabin was warm and inviting and very cozy. We enjoyed ourselves very much. I would love to visit the Wee Cabin again!!

Sandy is absolutely a fabulous rep for this property. Couldn't have been easier or more efficient to get the rental transacted &, at the last minute, too.
Only suggestion I would make is that the owner should provide firewood, if possible.
Hope to return next year. -

north carolinaA "wee" vacation at The Wee Cabin
Left on 07/28/2009 for a stay in July 2009
My husband and I stayed just a few nights at the Wee Cabin. It was a cozy little place for the two of us, though there was room for another one or two people. It was comfortable, cozy, and tastefully decorated. The upstairs bedroom is lovely! We did not really do much cooking, so I can't say much about how well equipped the kitchen was.
It was tricky to get the shower door to close all the way until I sort of lifted it to close it. You all might want to put a little sign up about that, or make it easier to close.
The maps of hiking trails on the wall by the coat rack was handy.
I think the Wee Cabin would be a lovely place to stay in the wintertime, as well as in the summer!Response from Pinebrook Vacation Rentals - 06/01/2012
