Description from the manager

"Willow Fly"

(Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)

This rustic 1 room log cabin is located across the street from the main office and store. It is a basic studio style layout with beds, table and kitchen all in one large room. There is a small outdoor area to the rear of the cabin with a picnic table, charcoal grill and firepit. It's a basic, clean cabin that is value priced. The location is set back from the road and the Taylor River runs behind it just beyond one other row of cabins.

We spent a long weekend fly fishing on the Taylor River. Ate BBQ ribs from Smoke House, took full advantage of the helpful staff at Willow Fly anglers, including half day lessons by Orvis-certified guide Dylan Love, and returned late at night to sound sleep in Cabin #4. Can't wait to return!

My wife passed away 3 years ago and in all of Colorado almont was her favorite place to go. Cabin 5 was where we usually stayed and I have fond memories of all the good times we had. I always look foward to returning and the staff always greet you with a big smile and we always felt at home. Good food is always a short drive/walk away, rooms are always clean and great fishing is just out the back door. Prices are more than just reasonable, I have always left feeling that I got alot more than I payed for (now don't raise the prices ). Thank you for the memories, the almont experience and see you next year. Mike Clifford

the cabin was poorly cleaned and was absolutely infested with mice!!! I would not recommend this resort to anyone unless cost is the only consideration.

Response from Three Rivers Resort - 10/08/2012

      Three Rivers Resort

      Manager

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay and it's true we've had a tough mouse year due to a very mild winter. We've basically waged a war on mice with poison and traps around and under cabins, in cabins when possible. I think every guest has had a different experience like the guests who stayed after you who were completely satisfied with the cabin and their stay. We have a variety of cabins (17 different styles) from older and more rustic like the cabin you were in to upscale and very new. If there is a severe problem, we are happy to address the issue with you including upgrading you if need be. You have someone available to you 24 hours a day here and we encourage everyone to seek us or a manager out if there is a problem. In the mean time we will continue to wage our war on mice and do the best we can! We appreciate your feedback and I would be happy to talk to you personally about your stay. - Jen Stevens, Resort Manager

The office staff really know how to treat their guests; cabin #4 was very comfortable, clean and very much enjoyed. Three Rivers resort was our hdqrs; allowing us to visit Crested Butte, Black Canyon National Park, and the beautiful drive to Taylor Park Lake. Pete & Elma Segovia, San antonio, Texas.

      Excellent location!

Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Our one room, light housekeeping cabin had all the amenities needed. Glad we took a small fan, tho, as there is no a/c and it helped to circulate air inside the cabin. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Wish it were more isolated, but it was still quiet in the midst of a busy location. Will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I came up to Three Rivers with a large group of friends. We stayed in four different cabins, all different sizes and styles. Everyone had a great time (except for the rain, which we want but not during our own vacation).

I loved this resort! Quiet, great kitchen in the cabin, and river just a short walk. The guys in the fly shop were wonderful as well. I will be there again next fall.

A little noisy, and could have used more cross-ventilation, but worked nicely for the fishing we came for. A broader menu in the nearby restaurant would have good.

The level of service from everybody, front desk to the wait staff was excellent. The accomodations were well maintained, in excellent shape and reasonably priced. Almont is a nice quiet out of the way place to get away from the city. The meals at the on site restaurant were excellent. I went there with a fellow worker to go fishing and we had a great time catching fish. We rented a cabin (#4) and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to that same cabin with a family of four. The cabin had comfortable double beds, a kitchenette (complete with pots, pans, utensils, cups, glasses - for 4 people, a refrigerator, oven and dining table) All of the comforts of home - away from home. We are already planning to go back again next summer.
