Description from the manager
"Polar Shrimp"
(Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)
Cabins 57-67 are identical styles. These deluxe "mountain chalets" on the Taylor River offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect units for families. The deluxe models on the river are very new with nice furniture and fixtures for a more "upscale" feel. The best feature of these is that you are literally steps away from the river. Just walk off the covered porch and you're on the river bank. Along the river bank is a grassy area with a fire pit and a charcoal grill plus a picnic table. The unit has a private bedroom downst...Read more

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I have been coming here for 25 years and never done a review. Although almost everyone I know would be able to find something they like to do here, some may just like doing nothing. My wife and I have enjoyed coming here two or three times a year for a long time. Everything is always excellent, always. The staff has always been great, all of them. Mark has been my main contact as long as I can remember. We could go anywhere, but I can't think of any place we would rather go. There is a lot to do, but sometimes we just enjoy hanging around the cabin and taking it easy. Mark has made it easy and exciting and always makes us feel special. The only concern I have about telling every one about three rivers is that I do not want every one to know about it. Keep it special, keep it secret, keep it the way it is. We will be back for another 25 years.

Place was absolutely beautiful, very close to river, could walk right out fish, watch rafters go by, or just put your feet in. Nice porch, small but do-able.
Major problem with mice, realized that we were in the mountains, but there were droppings in the silverware drawer in all cabinets, in the hide a bed, on top of counters. Most in the office seemed to be really nice and on any issues. However; cleaning and maintenence not so much. Maitenence left dead mice in traps under sink for over 24 hrs, didn't come and get until we complained. (Twice) Then the cleaning folks left the 2 dead mice right on porch in front of door, in a bag. Complained about a smell of something dead coming from the couch or under the floor, no resolution. Ran out of tp, paper towels and trash bags continuely during our stay and would have to go retreive from the front office.Response from Three Rivers Resort - 08/16/2012

Thank you for your feedback. It is admittedly a tough summer for mice, chipmunks, squirrels, bunnies and other critters due to our very mild winter. Everyone I know who lives in this county is having trouble at home with critters. Part of that goes with staying in the mountains - some years are good and some not so much. On our part, we will take your feedback and work for improvement on how we can better deal with the situation at hand. I know that housekeeping is always willing to come and clean up after mice when we know about it and I think they were out there each time we knew of a problem. There is no excuse for leaving the mice on the front porch, though, and while it was probably oversight, we will do better in the future. Our maintenance staff can't stop by hourly to check traps but we could definitely set up a daily schedule and we'll throw around some ideas. As far as housekeeping supplies, we do not supply daily maid service but supplies are always available through the front desk if you need more than what was supplied or guests sometimes call us and we'll have them delivered. We always appreciate feedback and will continue to work towards better service. To date, we have tried to install some screens around pipes or any other areas where we think mice may be getting in.

I was most fortunate that the Three Rivers team could work with me and get me into some cabins as I did not reserve until mid June. I solved that by working with Mark and now have my month long reservation for next year in the bag. Your staff is the best and the restaurant was great. Will look forward to next year.

Our cabin on the river was very nice and clean. The cabins are excellent for two persons, however a bit crowded for four. The nightly raids on the trash dumpster by the local bear added some excitement though completely harmless. Part of having a cabin around the river and woods.

Littleton, COthe great outdoors !
Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This is our second stay at Three Rivers Resort - last time, we were in adjacent riverside cabin # 59. Perfect setting for enjoying the evening after long days of atving from Taylor Park Trading Post near the reservoir up Tincup Pass and other beautiful trails in the area. We especially love the large, covered deck attached to the cabin. Having the stream just steps away allows you to watch the rafters ( if you're around during the day ), the many beautiful hummingbirds, hear that unbeatable sound of the stream rushing by, and even stay outside during a quick passing rain shower. One of the big sellers for us is that this unit is pet-friendly, which allows us to bring our little 10# Yorkie-Poo with us - whether we're on a quick trip straight to and from almont for a few days, or on a long trip with almont as just one stopping placing along the way. Food at the Smokehouse is great, and they can even pack up a sirloin steak dinner to enjoy at the cabin. The loft in the cabin is a little "cozy," but would be a greatly-loved adventure for younger children! Our only wish was that the bedroom was a little larger - but everything else is so perfect, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when we're vacationing in this area. Staff couldn't possibly be any more friendly, efficient, or accommodating - everyone is great ! See you again soon !

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the resort and we will come again. The staff are the nicest people from the front desk, the restaurant and the fly shop. We paid extra and stayed in a river front cabin and it was worth it, 10 steps from the cabin and you're fishing. Even better was while I went fishing my wife was able to get a massage. The resort is also really close to Gunnison and Crested Butte for great shopping and dining options. Not to mention 30 min from Taylor Reservoir and Blue Mesa. We love Three Rivers Resort!

Everything was great. It is hard for a couple of guys and there sons to stay there two boys upstairs one dad in bedroom and other dad on couch. Couch was a bit uncomfortable but that was really the only thing I can think of...everything else was top notch...

The cabin was perfect for the two of us! The river and other surroundings were beautiful. Everyone who worked in the shop was always pleasant and the restaurant food was delicious. Everything was just great! My husband went flyfishing with Joey (floating) and Kurt (wading on the East River) on separate days. These young men were fantastic guides! My husband enjoyed catching a lot of fish! We truly had a great vacation and hope to return to 3 Rivers Resort soon!

So we did some thing different this year. We did not go to some amusement park or to some far away land mark. No we stayed here in beautiful Colorado. We rented Cabin 58 on the river. It was great to build a fire each evening by the river next to the cabin. It was loads of fun spending two days rafting on the river. It was only a short drive to the Taylor lake to do a lot of great fishing. And the whole area was so beautiful. Thank you so much for a great escape.
