Description from the manager

"Rusty Spinner"

(Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)

Cabins 57-67 are identical styles. These deluxe "mountain chalets" on the Taylor River offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect units for families. The deluxe models on the river are very new with nice furniture and fixtures for a more "upscale" feel. The best feature of these is that you are literally steps away from the river. Just walk off the covered porch and you're on the river bank. Along the river bank is a grassy area with a fire pit and a charcoal grill plus a picnic table. The unit has a private bedroom down...Read more

      Cabin 62 - Shaum December 27-29

Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Mark was super helpful. Did a great job with us.
We have stayed with you several times. First time in 62. It was great for the fam - clean, etc.

However...the entry had not been shoveled when we arrived which had us tracking lots of snow in with all our gear. There is a broken dresser drawer in the main bedroom (bottom drawer) and it was just laying on the floor when we arrived.

We will be back this coming summer.

      Cabin 62 Review

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

loved the cozy cabin, and being right by the river was fantastic. Had all the things we needed. Thank you for letting us keep our dogs there, it was really tough to find places that would accomidate us. Only thing I would suggest is maybe having a closing gate at each entry of the patio area. Mainly for safety for kids and for me personally would be able to have the pets on the patio, and keep them confined to that area while we enjoyed the outdoors also.
Thank you again for a great stay, and I plan on coming back again!

Thermostat would've been nice. We had trouble keeping a comfortable temperature in our cabin. Other than that, it was amazing. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Rocky Mountain Freedom at It's Best

Year after year, Three Rivers Resort in almont, CO, continues to be a home away from home. The kind of place that'll bring a tear to your eye as you attempt to sum up 20 years of vacation memories in a review. The location between Gunnison, Crested Butte and the Taylor Reservoir is ideal to say the least. In all the years I've been going there, this was the first to rent a cabin right on the river. How relaxing to listen to the very same water floating by the cabin while i sleep, that I'm going to be fishing in the next morning. The deck on "Rusty Spinner" #62 is large enough to accomodate even my father's over-the-top supply of fishing tackle (40 years worth!). The built-in theater surround system was a definite bonus for my 8 year old son. Pixar come to life! He also especially liked the massaging private hottub. Which I must say was rather relaxing after a full day of chest wading. We didn't make time for rafting this year, what with too much time spent on small 10,000 ft+ high Rocky Mountain streams. But next year, I think we better get back in the raft. Four more years and the little one can go on the Upper (really lower to us fishermen) Taylor Class III trip. The photos are amazing, as well as the staff, restaurant, grounds and everything else. Why else would we go back for 20 years!?

Check in is a pleasant experience, Mark and others. Can't beat having the Willowfly shop on prem - good informative low-key folks. Missed the PBR special night no longer on Wed - fun time in past. You must do away with the firepits, what an unpleasant odor lighter fluid & charcole. Albeit few are used, still too many. This is the main reason we may not return.

We rented the cabin on the river. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen! The house was clean and stocked with all the necessities. The deck was incredible. I have stayed with the Three Rivers before and I have never been disappointed. It has become a tradition. We love it!!

      Cabin 62

Left on 08/05/2009 for a stay in July 2009

We were disappointed with this cabin. Firstly, it's not a cabin, as we rented, it's a trailer. Putting a wood-like material on the outside of a trailer does not make it a cabin. The so-called loft was unusable. For $160/night, we expected an actual house; we felt we were duped by all descriptions and pictures of the trailer. The large covered patio was useful and very nice.

We did like the location on the river and at the mouth of Taylor Canyon. We had a good time while exploring this area.

      Love this place

Left on 08/05/2009 for a stay in July 2009

We've been renting at Three Rivers for years, will continue to do so. Great family place, lots to do; only one complaint: the cafe service was pretty poor; we actually sat down to eat, had to get our own menus, and after waiting nearly 20 minutes, we left. The waitress walked right by us several times, but never acknowledged us. As for the cabin, it was awesome!!!

      Great Value and Location

Left on 07/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Three Rivers is a great resort. These Cabins are newer (~3yrs) than others. Great views & fishing of / on the Taylor River. For the technology minded folks there is no TV and the radio picks up one local station, but you can play CD's if you want to hear something other than the sounds of the river. Electric fireplace works great to take the chill off in the mornings. The bathrooms in these units are a little cramped, and we had a leak which was promptly fixed. Staff is great! We'll be back next year.
