Description from the manager
"Beaded Little Mayfly"
(Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)
Cabins 57-67 are identical styles. These deluxe "mountain chalets" on the Taylor River offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect units for families. The deluxe models on the river are very new with nice furniture and fixtures for a more "upscale" feel. The best feature of these is that you are literally steps away from the river. Just walk off the covered porch and you're on the river bank. Along the river bank is a grassy area with a fire pit and a charcoal grill plus a picnic table. The unit has a private bedro...Read more

Ipswich, MACozy Pleasant Value

Our cabin was just what we needed to come back and settle in after a day of skiing - the hot tub next door was the icing on the cake. Nice, friendly folks, and very relaxed atmosphere. If you need a lot of attention, this is not your place, but if you like a secluded spot to get away from the mountain mayhem, this will be your nirvana.

Our stay was over the Christmas holiday. There was 8 inches of snow on the ground and snowed another 8 inches on Christmas eve. It was absolutely beautiful. We went for a walk in the evening and passed other couples out for an evening stroll to see some of the lights in the little town. The cabin was comfortable and warm, even though it was around 10 degrees or less outside. Our cabin was next to the hot tub, which was convenient, and we were the only ones using it, as most people rented the bigger cabins that weekend. We would highly recommend staying in almont and commuting to ski at Crested Butte. It's worth it if you want to leave the crowds behind in the evening, and the price is much better. We also got a great price on lift tickets through the office when I made reservations. This is our second stay with Three Rivers, and plan on going again!

We had a great visit and the cabin worked out great. It was clean and stocked appropriately. It's really nice to be right on the river and the dogs loved it as much as we did.

Chandler, AZWe really loved sitting on the porch listening to the Taylor Riv
Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The cabin was fine. It was a little narrow for getting through into the bedroom from the kitchen. We had no need to go up into the loft area, but this area seems to only be for kids. Everything worked in the cabin except the bathroom faucet handle. It was loose and hard to judge the water temperature. I told the maintenance personnel about this issue, but it was never resolved while we were there. By far the best thing about Cabin 67 was the shaded porch. My wife and I spent most of our time on the porch. It would be nice if some of the bushes could be trimmed back or removed so that a view of the river would have been more obvious, but I'm sure there is a state conservation law against this? It also would have been nice if the lawn would have been mowed for our stay. The grass was long and it made it hard to make it down to the fire pit without getting your feet wet. Even though we did not use it, the proximity to the hot tub was not an issue. At first, I thought this would be noisy and it would increase the traffic past our cabin, but it was not a problem. Overall, we were happy with our accommodations and after all we were there to fish and relax...mission accomplished!

We actually stayed in cabin 19, not 67. It was perfect! It had everything we needed plus more. It is right on the river which was great to hear at night when we went to bed. Also, the owners are so friendly - they took their time with every customer and remembered us by name every time we were in the store. We felt welcome and valued.

Houston, TXI Loved the "Little May Fly"
Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012
The "Little May Fly", better known as cabin 67, was my place of residence for a month this last winter while I and a couple of friends worked for Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
The cabin is modern, comfortable, clean, and well constucted. Although it is only 400 sq ft, the owners have managed to make a lot of the space. It is quite comfortable for 4 residents and can accomodate a number of guests. Almont is beautiful as well - the view from the cabin is stellar.
I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone thinking about traveling to the valley. The property is amazing and the owners are relaxed and knowledgable. -

Very clean cabin, next to the river. My older sons enjoyed fishing for salmon in the river behind the cabin, I like the less crowded fishing several miles up the Taylor River.

Windsor, COGreat for a family with children!
Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We stayed in Cabin 67 "Little Mayfair" with our two small children. It was perfect for us. The upstairs area works great for children and they loved having their own area. Our 5 year old could stand comfortably but the adults couldn't stand up there. It was very clean and exceeded our expectations. We would consider a trip to that area of the state again just to stay there.

We loved the big covered porch right on the river. It was also nice to be able to bring ours dogs with us. They are better behaved than humans most of the time and we love traveling with them.
The upstairs was cozy and the teens liked having their own place to call their own. The views from upstairs were great too.
We used the hot tub and thouroughly enjoyed the fact that it was in close proximity to the cabin.
Thank you for a delightful weekend.
We are making plans for the summer so that we can build a fire outside and sit by the gurgling river. -

But besides that, it was great. We did have a double booking issue in 67. Some guy showed up at 10pm to say he had the same cabin. We told him to call the number and he went away.

Boulder, COFly Fisher's Paradise
Left on 10/01/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Probably one of the best locations in Colorado for fly fishing. Out your back door you are within 100 yards of 3 of Colorado's best fly fishing rivers (Taylor, Gunnison, East). The Taylor is literally 10 paces away. If fishing or the outdoors is your #1 priority then this is the place. The cabin is very small and tight but provides all the furnishings you'd need to be fairly comfortable. There is no TV however which was a bummer (especially during football season). But fishing is why we were there and I'd recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay next to an incredible fishery.

Austin, TexasGreat Place to Stay!
Left on 09/19/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Our family (Mom, Dad, and 15 & 10 year-old boys) had a wonderful time here. It is a beautiful, comfortable, and friendly place to enjoy fishing, hiking, rafting, you name it. The only thing is that if you stay in a cabin with a loft, you have to crawl around up there. Our 10 year old loved it and our 6 foot teenager made it work. I would love to go there again. Thank you Three Rivers for a splendid vacation retreat!

Denver, ColoradoA fantastic time in the Gunnison River Valley
Left on 09/02/2009 for a stay in August 2008
My daughter and I arrived late Friday afternoon, August 28. We were warmly greeted by a wonderful man at the check in desk. I knew we would have a great time based on this initial greeting and we did. Everyone on the staff was extraordinary, ready, willing and very happy to help you with anything requested.
Our cabin was very comfortable and nice about what we expected. The Smoke house dinner was excellent although hey had run short of the rib special.
The fly shop which I now understand is operated separately but still very much apart of the total resort experience was outstanding. The older gentleman, Dick, was exceptional! Dick?s level of professionalism match with his kindness and attentiveness is as deadly as the right fly on the river.
We were luck enough to draw Eric as our guide - WOW! We have floated the Green River below Flaming Gorge, the Eagle, and the Colorado Rivers, several times. Eric is simply the best guide we have ever had the pleasure of spending the day with. He is extremely professional, low key, low pressure, funny, patient, kind and river his knowledge that is amazing.
We will be back!

Left on 08/12/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The cabin was wonderful, we stayed in a total of 2 cabins, 66 and 67. It was nice having the basketball court close for the children and having the hot tub next to cabin 67. Only two things that I would have liked to have had:
1 - Dishwasher
2 - Extra lighting in the evening when walking from cabin to cabin.
Overall it was a great experience. -

I stayed there with my husband and my 5 year old!!! We had SOOO much fun! The people were so nice (including employees and other guests) The only thing that we wished was different, was the access to the Taylor river behind the riverside mountain chalet we rented...there was only the boat ramp access and it was always busy with people getting in and out and other fisherman! The main reason we rented those cabins was to fish! Other than that it was AWESOME!!!
