We stayed here in May 2012, (two couples) and had a perfect relaxing holiday.
The apartment itself is spacious and luxurious.
The kitchen is better equipped than ours at home!
The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and have stunning views of the estuary, as does the living room.
The bathrooms have been finished to the highest standard, and the roll top bath was very impressive.
We brought our car but you could easily manage without as the train station is literally a couple of minutes away.
The apartment is situated just a very short walk to the beach/pubs/restaurants.
There are a couple of golf courses very close by (1 within walking distance), and the village itself has not been spoilt by commercialism and has has retained its natural charm.
We really had a truly relaxing stay! -

I recently booked this property for a short stay with a group of friends for a Murder Mystery party reunion. We arrived and were extremely pleased with this outstanding property in the pleasant little town of alnmouth.
Upon arrival we were astonished at the high level of finish. Set out over two levels, the property was sparkling clean, stylishly decorated with perfect taste. The lounge and kitchen were beautiful, with comfy sofas and chairs, plenty of room for a big group to relax, chill out and just enjoy the place. With high-speed wireless internet, iPod docking stations in every room and a modern flat screen television, this was the perfect retreat for a young group of friends.
The kitchen was equipped with everything you might need and more, with dishwasher, lots of space, all the utensils and crockery you could imagine you might need and a breakfast bar area, perfect for spreading out and for everyone to dig in and help out with getting dinner ready. The open, airy and bright lounge, with its deeply soft sofas, large dining area and views round the corner to the sea and little boats was a perfect setting to watch the sun set over the sea. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated, with high quality beds, furniture, lovely furnishings and lots of little touches. What stood out for me the most was the bathrooms - huge, open showers with rain shower heads; heated bathroom floors, large towel rails and an expensive finish; soft towels, big mirrors and plenty of storage space; beautiful, contemporary design and lots of hot water to warm us up during a wintery visit.
In short, if you are looking for a spacious, luxurious escape to a lovely little village with a surprisingly wide choice of pubs, a post office, quaint little shops and stretches of sandy shores and unspoilt coast, then this property is for you. Ideally located one street from the beach, Upper alnbank goes that extra mile to make sure your stay is comfortable, relaxing and special. -

Just back from a long weekend prior to Christmas - what a great find! We were with another couple and had axel the greyhound with us so we wanted somewhere near the beach and with lots of space. Upper alnbank lived up to expectations and exceeded them. The styling is fab and it is spacious and light. The owners provide loads of honest info on the local area and the bits and bobs such as the microwave etc (how frustrating it can be not to be able to work out the technology if it is slightly different to your equipment at home!). Our friends have high standards and were as impressed as we were. This place is a jewel - ok there wasn't a steamer for our veg, but that's really the only thing I can think of as an improvement and seems pretty petty - there are plenty of pans etc to manage without! One of the best (maybe the best?) self- catering accommodation we have booked for a long time! Alnmouth also a great find and enjoyed a couple of great meals out just around the corner - literally!

We stayed in Uppper alnbank this summer. The flat is very clean and spacious. I believe we were one of the first people to stay in the flat, the accomodation was obviously newly refurbished and decorated.
Well equiped kitchen, all new appliances. The flat really has everything you need for your stay. Lots of nice touches such as maps and local guide books all provided.
There is no garden or outdoor space but you are right in the heart of alnmouth so everything is litteraly on your doorstep.

We were so pleased we found this accommodation, the stylish decor and warm homely atmosphere made it difficult not to relax and enjoy both the house and the amazing surrounding area. The house has been recently renovated to a very high standard and the owner has certainly done some research into how to make his guests feel welcome. The guest book gives lots of helpful information regarding the area which we found very useful during our stay, the beach is as the description says a stones throw away as is the Red Lion which serves a wonderful Sunday lunch. All in all a very lovely experience which I will most definitely be repeating.

To spend a few days away as a family was our intention and thanks to our wonderful experience at Upper alnbank that is exactly what we experienced. As we entered the apartment we were struck by how spacious and bright everywhere was. The furnishings in the lounge/dining area were of the highest standard and the added extras helped to make us feel at home straight away. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of utensils and gadgets. The master bedroom was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows, towels etc. The downstairs shower room was an absolute joy: a first for us the rainfall shower but it was fantastic. The upstairs bedrooms were large, spacious and beautifully decorated. Again plenty of pillows, towels etc. For me the highlight of my stay was to spend time soaking in the beautiful bath upstairs although the rainfall shower in this bathroom was a massive hit with our daughter. Overall the property is of a very high standard, the soft furnishings were lush and the added extras were much appreciated. We even used the picnic basket! We had a wonderful time and visited two of the pubs in the village that were mentioned in the information pack provided. The beaches were absolutely amazing (ask Mark to give you directions to the secret beach) and it didn't take us long to realise that this area is somewhere that we have to come back to again soon. A winter break is calling us and we have already booked to return to Upper alnbank at the end of the year. Let the countdown begin...

The accommodation is finished to a high standard and has everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
The beach is a minutes walk away, as are a number of local pubs. The local golf club being a couple of minutes walk away. A convenient base to visit attractions and beaches in the north east.
Would recommend a stay.
