48 (of my) paces to the beach - and Alnmouth beach is miles & miles of clean, unspoiled, unpolluted sandy gorgeousness! This is 'Heritage Coast' within an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.
1 minutes walk to 3 good pubs, 3 restaurants, a cafe, a post office, a village store & a gift shop
5 minutes drive to Warkworth Castle or Alnwick Castle and Gardens (Alnwick Castle is the setting of 'Hogwarts School' for fans of the Harry Potter films!)
10 minutes drive to Cragside House, Dunstanburgh Castle, Embleton Bay, The Cheviot Hills.
20 minutes drive to Lindesfarne Island, Bamburgh Castle, Chillingham Castle or the top of The Pennine Way.
At least a dozen golf courses within 20 minutes drive, from the oldest 9 hole links course in England (1 minute walk!) to proper posh places for people who wear strange trousers and knitwear!
Nearest town is Alnwick which has a good range of shops, 2 supermarkets (Sainsburys & Morrisons) and a Farmers Market on Saturday.

We spent a midweek break at this characterful cottage, with our two teenage boys. The cottage was delightful, and in a fantastic location with the beach almost directly on the doorstep. Nick (the owner) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The cottage is very well equipped and of a high standard, the log fire was just what was needed after a chilly afternoon walk on the beautiful alnmouth beach. All in all a little gem, would highly recommend a visit.
