Left on 09/21/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Another lovely weekend stay in the cottage. Everything you need is to hand and the welcoming pack along with milk, coffee and tea are such an added bonus. We enjoyed using the jigsaws, cards and games that are part of the cottage. We had a great day in alnwick gardens on Saturday and enjoyed some crab fishing in amble and a walk in Warkworth on Sunday. There are so many lovely places to visit so nearby. Before we left we had our must have walk along the beautiful alnmouth beach. The only bad thing is that we always have to leave.

A very high standard of cottage with a lovely welcome pack on arrival. Very friendly owners with lots of thoughtful advice. The village is lovely and the beach great, even on a rainy day. Our children particularly liked the rabbits and treehouse in the garden and all the toys.

The cottage is beautifully appointed, all pretty new and spotless. Lounge and bedroom are spacious for 1 bedroom. Very spacious garden area with seating and cool swing for kids. It's a very small stroll to beach, and the village has a lovely grocers.
I would definately visit the cottage again, the owners communication was helpful and welcoming, cannot recommend highly enough.

      A wonderful family holiday

Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We spent a wonderful week in Midwood Lodge, with some more family members joining us and staying in the cottage at the weekend. Louise and Christine could not have been kinder or more generous to us and the houses were perfect for a family gathering, with plenty of different spaces so people could be together, or retreat. The houses were extremely well equipped with plenty of toys. The local area was stunning in the sunshine and beautiful even in the rain. The short walk to the beach allowed us to make the best of sunny spells, and near by alnwick provided wet weather activities. Overall we are very grateful to Louise and Christine for helping us have such a lovely time.

      Relaxing Stay in Lovely Cottage

Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed for a week in June and found the cottage to be excellent. It was very well equipped, excellently maintained and very clean. The beds were comfortable and I loved sitting in the conservatory.

The garden is huge and the children really enjoyed playing in it and especially liked the treehouse. We also thought the selection of games in the cottage was brilliant for entertaining the children.

The location is great, an easy walk to the beach although the car is needed if taking a picnic, buckets and spades etc.

Lots to do around the area, Alnwick Gardens being a highlight for us.

Left on 06/21/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The house and garden was really spacoius, and had lots on offer to entertain three generations of our family. We liked alnmouth and there was plenty to do in the area. The only thing to fault was the sofa bed as it wasnt the most comfortable one for sleeping on. Everything else was very good.

a special property fit for a special occasion

Left on 06/10/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The booking service and key collection are simple and uncomplicated. There is a welcome pack which is adjusted to reflect your occasion. The property is spacious and comfortable with great attention to detail to ensure all members of your party are considered e.g. indoor and outdoor games equipment. The garden is superb for children and the patio areas are well sited to benefit from the morning and evening sun (sunloungers would be a welcome addition). The location is great. Alnmouth is quiet, but has several good eating places, a beach you can walk to and is a short drive from alnwick, Bamburgh etc. We liked everything about the cottage and particularly the personal care we received from the owners.

      Fantastic Cottage!

Left on 03/11/2011 for a stay in March 2011

My partner and I stayed in this super cottage for a 3 night break beginning of March. The cottage we booked was the smaller of the two as we wanted romantic break. This cottage is of excellent standard and has everything you need, the furnishings are well cared for and the layout of the cottage is great. We loved the welcoming touch from the owners of the wine and chocolates, all reviews we read in the cottage guest book are of great value and a credit to the owners.
The larger of the cottages looks well furnished and of the same high standard as the smaller cottage. The cottage is well situated and there is a bus top to the train station, Newcastle and alnwick at the top of the drive. The coastline nearby is beautiful and you can walk for miles through along the coast to the neighbouring villages.
This is a little Gem of a cottage and we would highly recommend it to all couples and small families, if you have a larger party the larger cottage is more suitable.
Both cottages are not suitable for Pets.

A beautiful cottage - just perfect

Left on 02/09/2011 for a stay in January 2011

A friend and I stayed at the cottage for a few days in January and it was just lovely. A perfect location, close to alnmouth beach and the centre of the village. The cottage itself is immaculate with everything one could possibly require. We were greeted by a very thoughtful welcome tray with chocolate, biscuits and wine. It was the perfect base to explore the local area. I'd recommend it to anyone and hope to return in the future.

      Hidden Gem in alnmouth!

Left on 06/22/2010 for a stay in June 2010

Midwood Cottage is a real delight - comfortable, very well equipped with a super garden. The décor and furnishings are light and contemporary and the bathroom has a great shower. It's five minutes from the village centre and the gorgeous alnmouth beach. There was a lovely welcome tray with chocolate and wine to greet us plus that essential pint of milk in the fridge! I would recommend the cottage without hesitation and would definitely stay here again.

Spacious refurbished cottage with huge garden in alnmouth

Left on 06/16/2010 for a stay in May 2010

Stayed for long weekend with wife and son in May, in good weather!. Stayed in lodge but also had look at cottage, both are beautifully furnished and equipped, looks as if everything brand new! Location is ideal- 2 minutes walk into centre alnmouth with some great pubs shops and cafes. The Red Lion had great food and beer, plus lovely beer garden. The cottage also has a huge and pretty secluded garden, a few games of footy and bbqs happened over the weekend. Car parking is very difficult in alnmouth, especially at week ends so we were really pleased to have off road parking at the cottage, room for another 3 cars at least. Thanks again to louise for ensuring we had a great break!

Fantastic Holiday Cottage in Sea-side Village - Alnmouth

Left on 06/05/2010 for a stay in April 2010

What a fantastic cottage! We have had a great time. Everything was on our doorstep….. We loved the fact that we could have our own kitchen and bathroom in the cottage end of the house, while our daughter and her family had the Lodge end. We are early risers and so it was great to leave the rest of the household undisturbed while we had our breakfast and popped out for newspapers. Alnmouth is a beautiful village with unspoilt beaches. We will be back…
