We had a wonderful post Christmas holiday stay. The house was much more spacious than we thought and it had wonderful natural light. We really liked the open plan and the kids room worked perfectly--the kids all slept together in there. We would love to stay there again.
Only problems we had were it was very difficult to find at night. I never saw a house number and it was not well lit outside. That's why I have only 2 stars for ease of check in. I rated comfort a 4 because the bar chairs were too tall for the bar and the dining chairs were not very comfy. If the kitchen was better appointed and if there was a hot tub we would have been ecstatic and overlooked all of the above short comings! -

This property is roomy and nicely maintained. It was the perfect place to stay with our family and friends with its 4 bed- and bathrooms. It is a great vacation spot because hiking, kayaking, and swimming are all nearby... The kids really enjoyed the pond in walking distance.

Don't recall being warned of bears in e-mail before we arrived. Saw the warning in the cabin too late! Left a window open downstairs and a bear knocked in the screen. my girl friend was down there and screamed and scared off the bear. If she wasn't there, our food would have been history!

Our family had a two week vacation touring California. Lake Tahoe was the place everyone said they liked the best. This house was perfect - the location, cleanliness, the little waterfall running next to it - everything was perfect!

We thought this house was super - lots of room, lots of bathrooms, big kitchen, nice deck facing the woods - even though some of the furniture (like the sofas in the living room) was badly stained and had huge rips. We just put tablecloths and blankets over the worse parts. House has lots of deferred maintenance - watch for splinters from the deck -- but that's probably what made it affordable for our group, and permitted us to bring our dog. Big, spacious and well-supplied kitchen, even if appliances are dated, made it easy for several people to cook at one time. We liked this place.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Bear Creek and would definitely recommend the property and Tahoe Getaways to our friends. We're sure we'll use Tahoe Getaways again to plan our vacations in the Tahoe area. The only reason we are not giving the whole experience a full five star rating, is that there were a couple of minor maintenance issues with the property, which could easily be recitified, making the experience absolutely perfect.

My family spent Christmas week at this lovely home in the Bear Creek
Association - just a mile from Alpine Meadows. House easily accommodated
our tribe of 10 (which included 4 children under 6) - though it would have
been nice to have a pullout couch in the bunk room.
House is very well appointed and is in a great neighborhood. The open
floor-plan on main floor with the raised fireplace was a perfect gathering
place for our merry band.
The two car garage was a blessing - since it snowed several times during
our stay. There was ample wood in the garage and we kept the fireplace
going day and night - flu probably needs a cleaning, since it did not draw
very well.
Only criticism of the property was the abundance of personal clothing left
by owners in the master suite - even drawers were full. Would have been
preferable if owners had moved all of their "stuff" into owners' closet so we
had more room in closet and bureaus for our clothing.
Other than that - and a few burned out light bulbs - I would highly
recommend this property to a large family for a memorable alpine holiday.

bedroom had a bathroom, making it convenient.

Tahoe Getaways management team was very prompt and accomodating.
The unit was very clean, modern and came as advertised-- no surprises which is a real bonus when renting a place.
The price was very affordable for the time of year and location.
