Many very good restaurants within 5 minutes of walk.
Highly recommended.Response from suzanne reeves - 03/31/2013

Oslo, NorwayPerfect Stay
Left on 03/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had a wonderful stay in this luxury townhouse from February to March. First impression was that the house was even better than what we expected from the photos. It was bright, modern and immaculate, with fresh flowers awaiting our arrival.
Everything about the townhouse was as described. It was well insulated and warm, which was important during this time of year. There's a beautiful courtyard with barbecue, a great selection of satellite TV channels and fast internet connection throughout the house which, to my husband's delight, allowed him to set up a makeshift 'office' on the rooftop terrace.
Besides the townhouse itself, Sue was simply a host extraordinaire. She catered to us tirelessly, often leaving really thoughtful touches throughout the house. Fresh flowers were changed, and napkins were replenished. From lint brushes to big fluffy bath towels, there was never anything I could think of that Sue didn't already provide in our month-long stay.
There's also Sue's husband, Pete, who generously relocated the TV, satellite receiver and DVD player from the living room to the bedroom at our request. And Getta, who kept the house spotless inside and out.
We were very well looked after by Team Sue and wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful townhouse to anyone considering a stay in altea.Response from suzanne reeves - 03/28/2013

Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This townhouse really is super!. We have travelled for many years but have never stayed anywhere so comfortable and relaxing. The house has been completely modernised but managed to keep lots of charm and character which is often lacking in holiday rentals. We stayed in February and we pleased to see that all rooms have separate heating , so important during the winter months. Suzanne has thought of everything, including a wonderful selection of music , books to read, films to watch and even the possibility to connect your Ipad to the music system. The house is fantastically furnished , the luxurious bed and bed linen ensured I had a great nights sleep every night. Normally I eat out a lot when renting ,as buying all the necessary oils and spices seems pointless for a week or two. Here there was everything you could need in the kitchen, and we really enjoyed preparing and cooking our meals and spending some evenings in the house. Definitely great value for money. Altea old town is a friendly place and Suzanne's house definitely the best place to stay. We will return.

Splendid wee appartment in the lovely old town of altea. A nice wee enclosed courtyard at the back, which I'm sure is lovely and warm later in the year, two good bedrooms and 'ensuite' terrace for the penthouse room ;) Turned out to be a pretty good location for the cragging in the Costa region too. Thanks for the hospitality Sue and Pete and pass our regards to George ;)

CanadaStepping Back in Time, in a Good Way!
Left on 01/14/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Our two-week stay exceeded all our expectations. The town house in the old town of altea has been restored with exquisite taste and attention to detail. The owner, Sue Reeves was kind, helpful and enthusiastic. Her townhouse is just a lane away, so we always knew that she would be there for us if we had any questions.
Sue kindly stocked our townhouse with food and wine, at our request, as we were arriving on Christmas Eve and weren't sure if there would be any grocery shops open.
The townhouse has such luxurious details as a heated towel rack and a heated mirror above the sink in the bathroom, so it would not steam up. The kitchen was fitted out as a gourmet kitchen full of appliances, cooking and baking equipment, and lovely stemware, dishes and serving bowls and plates.
The terrace off the main floor, and the one off the bedroom on the third level were perfect for reading, relaxing and planning our excursions around altea. Although we were there in December and January, the weather was mild enough to spend time outdoors on these lovely, private terraces.
This is a very special place, and we plan on returning to it, or to the newly restored townhouse just opposite it which Sue and her husband have lovingly turned into a luxury townhouse, also on 3 levels, for two people. The features of this townhouse include 100-year old floor tiles from Cordoba, and a large terrace, bathroom and kitchen.
Altea itself is a quiet town with a lot of good restaurants, cafes and shops, with a long palm-tree- lined promenade along the edge of the Mediterranean.Response from suzanne reeves - 01/20/2013

Thank you for this wonderful review. Your enthusiam was fantastic and we so enjoyed having you stay at our townhouse. It was our pleasure to be of service and we look forward to welcoming you again in the very near future.( We will send you the pictures when the second townhouse is completed, probably at the end of March.)

Floro, NorwayWonderful place to stay
Left on 11/17/2012 for a stay in November 2012
After looking for the ideal place to stay in altea I was lucky enough to find Sue and Pete's beautiful town house. The property itself is a well restored townhouse in the old town giving a taste of the real altea. It is conveniently placed for the restaurants/bars and a few minutes walk to the promenade on the beach. I can only describe Sue and Pete's townhouse as 'spotless'. The house is tastefully decorated in a 'contemporary' style. The downstairs contains an open plan lounge/diner and well equipped kitchen where cooking was a pleasure (only thing missing was a dishwasher, but we found that it was fine washing up the old fashion way) and eating in the courtyard in the evening with the lights twinkling through the plants and trees – when it was warm enough was wonderful. . I really appreciated that many basics that are so often excluded from rental properties were provided- kitchen roll, napkins , oil, vinegar, spices, and cleaning products to name a few. A sound system in the kitchen means all you need to do is bring along your iPod, plug in and chill out! The Norweigen and English chanels on the TV pleased my husband and made it comfortable for the evening that we choose to stay in because the weather was bad. The wi-fi connection is fast and reliable. On the first floor is a double bedroom and bathroom. The bed is the best we have had at a rental accomdation in Spain which meant that we slept well the 2 weeks we were there. On the top floor there is another double bedroom-office with a door leading to a small furnished terrace where we had a little sun in the middle of the day. Sue and Pete are restoring another townhouse across the way and she gave me the key to it as there was sun on the terrace there this late in the year. It has to be one of the most comfortable properties that we have stayed in and we're experienced travellers, but the stairs are steep so it is not a property for people who have problems with stairs. I would recommend this rental to everyone.

Left on 10/06/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The town house is in a fantastic location in the lovely town of altea, it is situated right in the centre of the town giving a insight of normal life in the town that you would never get in a hotel.
The house is spotlessly clean and very well equipped with satellite tv, mini safe ,music system and CDs as well as good quality appliances. The local bar used by expats, locals and tourists alike is literally 20ft away and gives a warm welcome.
Staying in this property certainly went a long way to ensuring a fantastic holiday. -

LondonSuperb comfort, luxury and homeliness without losing the Spanish
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Fantastic accommodation, everything provided, including the kitchen sink! We wanted for nothing. Clean and minimal, without feeling cold, modern and comfortable without losing the Spanish feel.
The interior is light and airy, warm and comfortable. Great kitchen, bathroom and bedroom facilities, plus two outside areas. One a courtyard and the other a terrace on the top floor, fantastic for morning coffee and/or bucks fizz as we had a birthday to celebrate!
The TV, radio and CD player were also a great distraction when bouts of relaxing, sleeping and reading were exhausted!
The location was to boot! We wanted an authentic feel and being set in the old town of altea topped the holiday off. Near the church and it's square at the top of the town, provided great views and photo opportunities, whilst being centrally located to all the local restaurants, shops and cobbled side streets which also provided that Spanish experience of an old town.
A five minute walk into town took us through the quaint, cobbled streets to all the local amenities including more eateries, Atms, grocery stores and boutiques. Further on to the beach where you can eat and drink alfresco. The Frappe with Baileys were to die for.
The cobbled streets make it precarious for footwear such as killer heels or platforms so proceed with caution and a strong pair of legs!! If you're not good on your pins, think twice as you have to walk up and/or down to get anywhere.
We loved the feel of the old town, cobbled streets and original houses and buildings, fantastic if you're into photography. The acoommodation was perfect, away from the hussle and bussle, but not far from some life as well as the beach.
Highly recommended and we would stay here again. We were a party of four.Response from suzanne reeves - 10/04/2012

We had a fantastic stay at Suezanne's beautiful villa. There was everything there anybody could need. Beds were comfortable, bathroom and villa spotless. From the very first email Suezanne's was a pleasure to deal with which made our stay even more pleasurable. Her local knowledge was exceptional and her assistance with booking restaurants, where to go and what to see was invaluable. In a fantastic location in the Old Town. Thanks for everything and we will definitely stay again.

We are just back from 3 weeks spent at Sue & Pete's lovely townhouse. This property is one of the best we've ever stayed " a must" : great decoration, extremely well equipped, there is nothing missing ! There is no gap between the description of the house given by the owners and what we found. In addition Sue & Pete are extremely nice persons, dedicated and they are just the perfect hosts you would like to have. Thanks for your hospitality, we really appreciated.

This townhouse is ideally situated in the "casco antiquo" part of altea, close to the bars and restaurants, but far enough away so as not to be disturbed. The townhouse has three floors of beautifully renovated and air-conditioned (much appreciated) living space with all of the modern conveniences. Very cleverly done to make the most of the space. Our hosts were helpful and available to guide us, both on arrival and departure. I would definitely recommend this rental.Response from suzanne reeves - 07/09/2012

After looking for the ideal place to stay in altea I was lucky enough to stumble upon Sue and Pete's beautiful town house. The property itself is a sympathetically restored townhouse in old town giving the 'holiday maker' a taste of the real altea. It is conveniently placed for the restaurants/bars of altea and a five minute walk to the promenade/beach.
I can only describe Sue and Pete's townhouse as 'spotless'. The house is tastefully decorated in a 'contemporary' style. The downstairs contains an open plan lounge/diner and well equipped kitchen. No expense has been spared with the fitting's; the kitchen has modern appliances and everything you need to make a quick paella!!!
The kitchen leads to an outdoor seating area, awash with a range of tropical plants, ideal for your breakfast in the morning or a glass of the wine in the evening. A sound system in the kitchen means all you need to do is bring along your iPod, plug in and chill out! The wi-fi connection is fast and reliable.
On the first floor is a double bedroom with fine fittings, built in wardrobe etc. I had the best nights sleep ever!!! The bed is comfy and dressed with cotton sheets. Next door is a fully tiled bathroom with walk in shower etc. Again, the bedroom & bathroom were spotless.
On the top floor there is another double bedroom with door leading to a small furnished terrace, perfect for sunbathing (sun loungers/beach towels provided) or a game of scrabble!!!
Sue and Pete have got it 'spot on' with their townhouse. It has to be one of the best properties that we have stayed in and we're experienced travellers.
What really makes this house though is Sue and Pete! They are helpful, friendly and informative. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We left feeling we had known Sue and Pete for years and that they were old friends!
If you fancy a taste of luxury in old altea then this is the property for you. We can't wait to go back and I would recommend this rental to everyone. -

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Had a glorious week in altea Old Town - Costa Blanca thanks to Suzanne and Peter Reeves the owners and hosts of the most beautiful town house ever imagined, immaculate with everything needed for your holiday. The house was immaculately furnished, arranged upon three floors to include roof sun terrace, two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen/lounge area and amazing courtyard where we had breakfast surrounded by tropical plants in the mornings and drinks in the evening...heaven. A credit to the owners. We were made welcome by Sarah and David at the Mohito Tapas Bar a short walk from the house. The area is surrounded by fabulous restaurants especially Tribus and Paula which both had amazing views over the mediteranean and the towns below. We can't wait to return next year.

Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Having never visited altea or this area of Spain before,we didn`t know what to expect, but altea is a lovely town, topped by altea old town and even better the town house in which we stayed. Every attention to detail is catered for in this house, making it almost better than home from home. Suzanne and Peter were very friendly and helpful, meeting us on our arrival to show us to and around the house and during our stay providing us with any information we wanted about the area.
Although every facility for self catering is available in the house, we like to eat out when on holiday and within paces of the house there are many nice restaurants. We finished each evening in the mochito bar a couple of doors from the house. The mochitas were good and the couple running it very welcoming, treating us like neighbours.
Strong legs are required for the many steps in the old town, but it is worth the effort.Response from suzanne reeves - 05/11/2012

The owner (Sue) is very nice, she is eager to help with anything you need and in case something is not in order, she fixes it right away. The house has a great location in the center of the town. The disadvantage of such a central location is that you will wake up early due to the church bells. The house is luxurious and it even has a courtyard where you can have breakfast or where you can relax. The price/quality ratio is very good and the luxury, the location and the friendliness of Sue makes this a stay to recommend!

After spending a lovely weekend in april in Sue and Peter's gorgeous altea townhouse I decided to return in October. It was just as wonderful staying here for a second time and I probably enjoyed my stay even more. The house was just as I had remembered and I had a lovely relaxing time reading and sunbathing on the roof terrace, cooking in the state of the art kitchen and eating in the courtyard in the evening with the lights twinkling through the plants and trees - heaven!
Sue had also recommended a small tapas restaurant just around the corner which has a delightful selection of home cooked dishes and I would definitely eat there again. The small bar on the corner, Alteaarte, is also very friendly and welcoming and serves fabulous Mojitos. I can't wait to return for a third visit and am already planning this for a special birthday celebration next year.Response from suzanne reeves - 10/17/2011

We chose to spend a week in this charming townhouse in order to celebrate my parents 30th anniversary. Being two couples, we were eager to find a place which would suit both our needs. We must confess that Suzanne and Peter's incredible home exceeded all expectations. Their attention to decorative detail and imaginative use of space all come together to create a unique experience of comfort and luxury within a rustic setting.
Being the middle of august, and generally a busy time for tourism, it was hardly noticeable as each time you walk through the door, you feel as though you have been transported into another world. The town is lovely, and we all can't wait to go back! Thank you Suzanne and Peter!Response from suzanne reeves - 09/05/2011

We stayed for a week in this enchanting house. Everything about the house was first class, from the quality of furniture, the fab kitchen and bathroom and uber comfortable bed. All mod cons were there to make our stay really comfortable, We were not expecting such a high stand of accomodation for the price and were really pleasantly suprised. Sue & Pete, our hosts, were more than helpful in every aspect of our stay.
The courtyard is beautiful, the aroma from the plants and complete privacy made it perfect for us to enjoy cocktails and bbq.
The house is bang in the centre of the old town, two minutes walk to the bars and restaurants in the main square but located in a quiet side street so you have the best of all worlds.
It's quite a steep walk up from the lower old town and parking is scarse at the top so it was wonderful to be up where it all happens rather than negotiate the walk up each night.
There was nothing we could be negative about this accomodation and will happily return and also recommend to others.
Perfect house, perfect location, excellent value.

The townhouse was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and maintained. The ipod dock was great for litening to our own music and we enjoyed watching some of the many dvds provided. Having spent a week at Sue & Pete's lovely townhouse in altea in June/July 2011 we can highly recommend both the stunning townhouse & Atlea. Sue was the perfect host & from our very first contact we felt we were in safe & caring hands, she made you feel that nothing was too much trouble & anything you needed or wanted she was only too happy to help. Upon our arrival in altea Sue met us with a wonderful, relaxed warm welcome, giving us a guided tour of the surrounding streets, advising which restaurants to try, parking & which were the best routes to take to get further afield. She makes a good Sat Nav.
The townhouse really is beautiful, the walled private patio area is so tranquil you would find it impossible not to relax, we spent a great deal of time in here. The townhouse is situated on a quiet cobbled side street in the old town, you wouldn't believe how peaceful & relaxing an experience this was given that just a few metres away lies the lively main square. The house is stunning both inside & out & Sue & Pete's home is a reflection of quality, taste & a very discerning eye. Every last detail has been chosen with thought & care from the crisp, fresh white bed linen to the fluffy towells. It was a pleasure to stay is such a lovely home.
We used a hire to give us the freedom to explore both the coastal areas & further inland.
Sue has put together an array of literature & leaflets covering altea & the surrounding areas so you will never be lost for ideas or places to stay.
The beach is pebble with a little sand but still vey, very nice. We walked a few hundred metres along the cost, as if heading towards Calpe & we found near seclusion.
In all altea is a beautiful Spanish town with a typical laid back Spanish feel & it really does have something to offer everyone.
We will be returning to Sue & Pete's lovely home in the not so distant future,
Hasta pronto

This was just the perfect place to stay. I returned for the second time, it is a delightful house. Have never rented something so tasteful and comfortable at the same time. Located in the very old town of altea, surrounded by the best restaurants and with easy access to the beach, at most 5 minutes walk. I had no need of renting a car as everything is within a walking distance.
Great bed , mattress quality, just loved the patio and the charm of the house.
Thank you so much Sue and Pete for being the perfect hosts who have thought of every detail. -

Not having a great deal of spare time to fit in a short break we decided to look at finding somewhere in the Costa Blanca, as it is one of our favourite areas. Lucky for us I stumbled across the townhouse in altea,
The pictures sold us but on arrival we were even happier to find that the house is in a perfect location, within a very short walk to many lovely bars and restaurants. The house has been lovingly renovated to a very high quality and has all the mod cons and bits and bobs you need. The walled garden is lovely to enjoy a glass or two of wine on an evening and the top floor balcony is perfect to enjoy fresh coffee in the mornings.
Sue was lovely and welcoming and offered us great advice of where to eat for my partner's 40th birthday. For anyone staying at the house I can definately recommend Tribus, yummy food and great atmosphere. Would I recommend the townhouse to others? Absolutely! Would I go back? Absolutely!Response from suzanne reeves - 06/12/2011

A charming and tastefully re-furbished old terraced house in the old town of altea, approx 1 mile uphill from the waterfront. The house is located in a quiet cobbled street which is too narrow for cars and so really peaceful. Really great restaurants and bars including Tribus, owned and run by a lovely young couple. Great quirky bars too! Can park nearby but not right outside, but otherwise was exactly right for us.

Thank you Miriam for your review. However I must point out that the sea is only a 6 minute walk away, and not 1 mile!
It was great meeting you both and thank you and for all the laughs and fun. We hope to see you both again soon. -

I have just spent a very relaxing chilled few days in this wonderful house in old altea. The house has been lovingly restored by Peter and Sue and yet has a contemporary and stylish feel. The courtyard and terrace are perfect for reading, eating or just soaking up the views, atmosphere and, of course the sunny weather. I feel very privileged to have stayed there and will be looking for an opportunity to return soon.

I have just returned to this wonderful house for the second time!!! I first stayed here in June and fell so in love with the house, romantic terrace full of exotic plants and the town itself that I decided to return again at the beginning of october. The house is stylefully decorated and very comfortable. The bed and bed linnen are first class. This time I just took some good books, and relaxed. The situation of the house is perfect for strolling in the evening to one of the many good restaurants all within minutes walk and then returning to enjoy a good bottle of wine by candellight on the patio. This is a real hideaway in the centre of the old town. Thank you Sue and Pete once again for making me so welcome. I´ll see you again next year!!

Choosing a house rather than an apartment or a hotel proved to be a good decision as this property gave us everything we were looking for - quality, location and ambience. The house is tucked away in one of the narrow streets in the old town area of altea and is very close to many excellent tapas bars and restaurants. The house itself is arranged over three levels and has a delightful mix of traditional Spanish features and modern fixtures and fittings. From being picked up at the airport by the owners to the moment we arrived back there a week later we had a relaxing time which day by day we filled with as much or as little as possible dependant upon how the mood would take us. Perfect!

My husband and I stayed in this house in picturesque altea in the Spring. The house is all you would wish for. Very comfortable, very clean and fitted with all modern conveniences. Located in walking distance (minutes away) to squares with terraces, the best restaurants and lovely shops and galleries. Walking down by the steps is easy enough and there you find the boulevard, the beach, the market and so on. Really worthwhile staying. The house is a dream and the patio perfect for relaxing or a BBQ.

We stayed at the house and were completely charmed, both by the house and altea. The house was very clean, decorated and furnished to a very high standard and we wanted for nothing. The house is right in the heart of the old town so perfect for all the little bars and restaurants near by. A short walk takes you down to the beach. Definately will go back as soo much more to explore than time allowed on this holiday and would certainly recommend to friends and family.
Altea itself is well worth a visit - very photogenic and bursting with history. The beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles with great views across to the Rock of Ifach at Calpe. Invest in a pair of beach sandals and you'll enjoy your dip in the Med - without them it's a little uncomfortable underfoot! Altea is also a good base for trips either along the coast or inland to the mountains. The safari park at aitana is well worth a visit just for the drive!
Back to the house - Sue and Peter have done a fantastic job creating a modern styled interior to an ancient building in one of the prettiest streets in altea. The rooms are all very comfortable and stylish and the ground floor patio is a real feature. The rooftop area is also a great place to relax at the end of the day with a glass... or two of whatever takes your fancy.
Sue and Peter also looked after us extremly well - whilst not intruding on our holiday. They offered to collect us from the airport and provided advice on parking, public transport (which is excellent!), restaurants in the town and lots of other attractions in the area.
