Abìlio`s Villa is 1.000 square meters walled property, located just 2 kms from Portimão (the second largest town in the Algarve) and 1 km to Alvor (a typical fishing village).
In a family and relaxing atmosphere, you can enjoy beautiful lawns and gardens with many flowers and fruit trees, plenty of clear water from own well, a fantastic pool with a specially area designed for children and lovely views to the mountains from the terrace.
Within 5 minute drive, you can find fine sandy beaches with clear warm water and several golf courses, including the famous Penina Golf Course, designed by Sir Henry Cotton. An excellent base for excursions, as the property is close to the major road network and therefore enables to visits many places of historical interest, and natural beauty in the Algarve. And with a choice of three large local supermarkets and two daily fish and vegetables markets within a 5 minute drive to city centre.

Abilio and his beautiful villa are a fantastic, helpful and very accommodating team. The villa is very spacious, great air con and the pool is a fantastic size.
A 20 minute stroll on a back road brings you to the edge of alvor. Handy mini market 4 mins away. The living room view is like a picture, over looking mountains and a small local airstrip.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa. It was extremely clean, very roomy, well appointed and comfortable. Our family (of 5 people) really enjoyed the outdoor cooking and eating area! The swimming pool is beautiful, although not shallow enough for small children to splash around. Alvor is a wonderful area to locate yourself for an algarve holiday. I would consider it necessary to have a car for shopping and driving to town (7min drive, 25 min walk) although there is a new grocery store about a 15 minute walk from the house. Our host, Abilio, was very attentive and helpful. He even drove us to Portimao at 6am to catch a bus for our departure. I would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful alvor house. We have just returned from a very enjoyable week's stay at the villa. Abilio was extremely friendly and helpful, driving out to find us when we did not follow his instructions to find the villa and got lost in a neighbouring villa complex. (The road the villa is on looks a bit commercial from the main road end with what looks like a garden statue centre on one side). He also provided us with tips and suggestions for restaurants and gave us three spare tickets for a water park he happened to have, which were very much appreciated.
The villa itself is exactly as shown in the photographs and was very clean and tidy. It is well equipped with games, jigsaws, satelite TV and every conceivable kitchen gadget, the only thing it really needed were some basic condiments like salt and pepper which you never thing to buy when you go shopping. We particularly liked the outdoor eating area which was shaded and excellent for barbecues. The pool was lovely, it took me ten breast strokes to get from one end ot the other but it is deep for young children.
The villa is situated at the end of a quiet road on the outskirts of Montes de alvor. There is an airfield nearby but they only fly light aircraft and only during the day. It was very quiet at night. You are going to need a car or taxi to reach the many restaurants in the area. There is a huge range of restaurants in the centre of the main town of alvor which is about a mile away. It also has great beaches and walks along the river mouth and boat rides along the coast.
To conclude, an excellent property which I would happily recommend.

Hemos pasado diez días en la casa, espaciosa y limpia y con las atenciones permanentes del dueño, que vive justo al lado, y la experiencia ha sido satisfactoria.
El chalet está en Montes de alvor, bien ubicado ya que estás a 5 minutos en coche de la playa y cerca de pueblos muy interesantes como alvor.
Además, las cortas distancias hacen que sea un lugar muy bueno para conocer desde allí otros destinos del algarve como Portimao, Praia da Rocha, Silves o Lagos.Response from Abilio Silva - 08/26/2011

Fantastic villa close to alvor.
A real individual villa not on one of the millions of villa complex's you find in the algarve. Albilio and his family were excellent throughout our stay offering great advice (beaches resteraunts etc) and support for anything we needed. Any minor probelms were rectified immediately so all in all great. The outside space is great and the pool good too - although for families with non swimming children the pool doesn't have much of a shallow end - for us no problem.
