What Past Guests Are Saying
a taste of paradise
Staying at Villa Scarpariello for 2 weeks was a fabulous way to celebrate a birthday with family and friends. (For the week with family, we also rented Suite Giardino, and for the week with friends, Apt. Wagner was also rented. Appartamento Elena was the favorite of the three.)
We loved staying away from the throngs in Amalfi, but also knowing that Ravello, Positano and Capri were all easy day outings. What truly made our stay memorable though were the stupendous views and warm welcome of the staff. Coming out to have breakfast on the terrace among the lemon trees and planning the day's excursions became an enjoyable morning ritual. We truly felt like family, and Dominic and the women were always glad to offer suggestions. Their hospitality and the unbelievable beauty overshadowed any minor shortcomings.
Although the interior was much nicer than the website photos suggest, (we had a well furnished living room area, large dining room and pretty bas reliefs on the bedroom walls that Piero had done) it is true that it has a smaller kitchen and somewhat dated bathroom. But who thinks about that when they're having limoncello on the balcony, seeing the lights twinkling on the coast, and watching the moon rise above the sea? In a group of fairly well-seasoned travelers, everyone was thrilled to have had this taste of paradise!

The apartment, location and everything about staying at Elena was perfect. Great service. Beautiful views. Like a fairytale. Lovely and clean and an gorgeous old castle. Comfortable and just Italy! Loved everything. Liked least - can't think of a thing.
