This gorgeous Amalfi Coast villa sits fortress-like on the side of a hill, gazing out across the bay towards Amalfi. With a variety of room combinations and three panoramic terraces, this newly renovated villa near Amalfi is perfect for a large family group traveling together. You can cook for yourself, hire a local chef, or dine out in the two restaurants just down the road! And because of this Amalfi holiday villa's position on the mountainside, you can eat all you want and still return home with well-toned calf muscles. Just above the main road from Positano to Amalfi, you have easy access to two of the most charming towns in Italy. And do...n't worry about grocery shopping until you're ready... this villa comes stocked with provisions for a couple of meals, so all you have to do is arrive and relax!

[600 m2] This villa overlooks the beautiful stretch of coastline as far as the Capo d'Orso and the bay of Salerno, including a wide view of the sea and the most picturesque angle of Amalfi, photographed and printed on every postcard! Built on several levels, the original structure dates back to the 12th century, and additions were made in the 16th and 18th centuries. Though it has been completely renovated on the inside, you can still see original vaulted ceilings. The exterior has been beautifully restored, featuring several outdoor terraces. After climbing 110 steps up from the parking area, you reach the "ground level" terrace, which is a grassy area with tables and chairs. Another flight of exterior stairs leads to the second grassy terrace, which is partially shaded. This area has a lovely outdoor shower in one of the arched alcoves along the stone retaining wall, where water spills out like a waterfall. Another flight of stairs takes you finally up to the rooftop, where a sun terrace has amazing views over the entire coastal area and the sea. A gate to this terrace can be closed for extra privacy, as there is another outdoor shower here. Parking for three cars is reserved in a small lot at street level.

[250 m2] This villa is located about three flights up from the parking area, just off of the main Amalfi Coast road. The three different levels are connected by exterior stairs. The villa is immaculately furnished with antiques and top-notch modern fixtures, including flat-screen satellite television in every bedroom. All bathrooms have hairdryers.

Ground Floor: The first level of this villa is actually 12 steps up from the first terrace area, making a total of 122 steps up from the parking area to this level. Upon entry you will find a sitting area with a wicker table and armchairs, a spacious living/dining room with a table seating four, and two bedrooms with independent AC/heating units. One bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed, a lovely view, and an en suite bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. The other bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed that can be separated into twins upon request and an en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. This room has a window facing toward the back of the villa [no view].

First Floor: 30 steps lead up from the entrance gate to the first floor. This level consists of a living room furnished with a sofa, two leather armchairs, and a television. It opens onto a small terrace with table and chairs. The open-plan dining room and kitchen is stunning, with a 12-person antique dining table, a decorative marble fireplace, and vaulted ceilings. The kitchen area is ultra-modern, furnished with marble countertops, an electric oven, two small fridges, an espresso coffee maker, and dishwasher. There are three bedrooms on this floor. The first has a 160 cm queen-size bed [can be separated into two twins upon request] and access to the living-room terrace. The second bedroom also has a 160 cm queen-size bed and a window with lovely views. The third bedroom is smaller and looks out onto the rear of the house. It has a 160 cm queen-size bed. There are also two bathrooms on this floor. One has a sink, toilet, and a Jacuzzi tub. The other has a sink, toilet, and shower.

Second Floor: Accessed via an external staircase [25 steps] from the first floor garden, a gate opens onto a large sun terrace. Seven steps lead down into a romantic little attic apartment for two, which includes a living/dining room with a table for four, an antique sofa, and a kitchenette with two electric burners and a small fridge. The bedroom has a 160 cm queen-size bed that can be split into twins upon request and a window looking out onto the garden. There is also a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

Situated along the road leading from Amalfi to Positano and Sorrento, this villa offers tranquility in a very good location. The foot of the steps leading to the villa is right along the main Amalfi Coast road, where there is a bus stop within easy walking distance. Here busses marked SITA can take you to all of the major towns of the Amalfi Coast, including Amalfi and Positano. This villa is also near two well-known restaurants offering local cuisine, one of them right on the other side of the villa's parking area. It is also possible to walk down about 400 steps to the Santa Croce public beach, where there are two more restaurants and umbrellas and chairs for hire. All essential shops such as bars, banks, and post office, are located in Amalfi's town center. Ferries and hydrofoils are available daily in the summer months from Amalfi to Capri, Positano, Sorrento, Naples, Ischia, and Salerno.

  The villa was beautiful, with spectacular views, and very spacious. The bedrooms were sectioned off from the living areas making them very private. Everyone enjoyed their own bathroom. It also had a feeling of safety as the gate locked, as did the individual bedrooms and private areas.
  It was wonderful for a group as the patio pool area overlooked the Mediterranean and was a wonderful spot to eat, visit, and have fun.
  
  The views.
  
  The noise from the road, the smoke from neighbors burning their garbage, and the noise from the church clock. It rang on the hour and every fifteen minutes. Also, the SITA bus was always crowded, making it hard to get a seat. Parking in the town of Amalfi was expensive (if you could find it) so the bus was the only option.
  
  We enjoyed the town of Amalfi and the access to the surrounding areas. There are water taxis that take you to Capri and Positano, etc.

  We had a wonderful time. It was an terrific, relaxing place with really nice outdoor spaces where we all gathered at the end of each day.
  
  The view was spectacular. Each night we watched the moon as it gradually grew over the nearby mountain.
  
  The stairs can be hard. The property is near the road so it was a little noisy. There were mosquitoes which bothered some people, so bring repellent.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Villa. We were there for an entire week with 10 of our closest family and friends, 12 including my fiance and me. We were in Amalfi celebrating our marriage, and had about 33 people show up for the week staying at various locations around Amalfi, and we had a blast. The Villa was absolutely gorgeous. Not only was it tastefully renovated and furnished, but all the amenities were awesome. The views were to die for. Every morning, we woke up to panoramic views of the ocean and the hills - it was incredible. The local agents were extremely helpful and nice. Our experience was one we will never forget and we are sure to return and rent this property in the future.
  
  The views, the decor and the outside terraces - all of them!. The spaciousness of the villa. Since there are three separate levels, we never felt crowded.
  
  The stairs. But, you get used to them. And, with views like these, we were not complaining!
  
  In the immediate surroundings, we loved, loved the restaurant Pesce d'Oro. They catered a couple of meals for us - for 23 people, and they were extremely nice and helpful. They were always watching out for us, offering us rides into town and tours of the neighboring villages. Pasquale, the owner of Pesce d'Oro, was so friendly--and although he speaks no English, we managed to get along. Giosy the restaurant manager, was extremely helpful, and was incredibly friendly and his English is very good. We will never forget them and hope to return someday. Besides Amalfi, we also enjoyed Ravello and Positano. You must go visit these two neighboring towns if you get a chance.

  It was a glorious week, glorious weather, warm-hearted people and great food. Wonderful experience! Villa Luce Sul Mare is about a mile outside of Amalfi. Our entire family, 11 of us, all three generations, were there to celebrate my 80th birthday. The Villa was perfect for us. Located high above the Amalfi Coast, we had a magnificent view of the Coast, east of Amalfi.
  
  Beautiful views and locale, easily reached by public transportation. The Villa had six bedrooms, each comfortable with good beds, some with terraces, a large well-equipped kitchen and an outdoor shaded dining table on a shaded terrace. The rooms are all air-conditioned which was required at times in July. All windows and doors are fully screened, so bugs are no problem. The Villa comes completely stocked for your first evening dinner and for breakfast and lunch with items included in your rental which we augmented. There is more wine than you could possibly drink in a week; We tried.
  
  172 steps up to property is difficult for elderly people. We managed OK because we are quite fit, but I would not recommend it for elderly people. There is a mechanized luggage conveyor used by the Villa staff. Stairs down to the beach are a few hundred steps.
  
  Ravello, Amalfi and Positano are lovely towns to roam around. Capri, Naples and Sorrento are accessible by ferry or the faster jet-foil from the nearby dock at Amalfi.

  When we finally arrived in Amalfi, and saw our villa, all of our expectations were exceeded. The views, the wonderful people, the courtesy shown by the property managers and the staff, were all part and parcel of an incredible Italian journey.
  
  There were 10 of us staying at the villa, and because of the 3-story lay out, no one felt crowded or had a lack of privacy. That allowed us all to experience the villa and Amalfi in our own ways...
  
  I didn't dislike it, but the trek up the stairs from the street proved just how out of shape most of us were.
  
  Amalfi and the little towns along the coast are singularly beautiful and each town has it's own personality. Everyone we ran into made our stay easier and wonderful.

  We had a wonderful week with 10 friends to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. Everyone was very impressed with the villa and the surroundings.
  
  The views and the gardens.
  
  The 130 stairs to the villa from the road were hard work for some of our guests. It rained for a few days and we found the lounge room a bit small for us all to share those evenings inside. Unfortunately the fridge and freezer didn't work when we arrived.

  The views are spectacular. Although the property is brand new, the old world feeling is maintained with the decorations and the furnishings.
  
  THE STAIRS!!! Yikes. This place is not for those that cannot handle extra effort. Just to get to the villa there are 105 stairs. The beach is 450 stairs. Going down isn't so bad, but coming up!
  
  The entire coast is filled with one beautiful site after another. Italians are friendly, and beautiful too.
