Villa Eleonora is a dream villa built on a cliff overlooking the sea. It is 30 meters (about 98 feet) away from the water and it has direct access to the sea. It is 280 square meters (about 3,014 square feet) large and it can sleep fourteen people. It features large terraces, an above-ground Jacuzzi pool with hydromassage, a sauna, a small covered gym-area, a garden, and a wide view of the sea.
It is about 3 km (about 1.9 mile) away from the heart of Amalfi . It is equipped with air-conditioning and winter heating. It also has a five-day-a-week cleaning service. You will also have ADSL for internet and a satellite-dish TV.
There a...re seven bedrooms with seven bathrooms, a spacious living-room, a kitchen, two separate WC, terraces, and a garden.
The place
Villa Eleonora is located on a splendid stretch of coast between Positano and Amalfi, being closer to the latter and to two of its most beautiful beaches. Although you will be in a place away from crowds of tourists and perfect to a relaxing vacation, you will be close to all the holiday activities Amalfi and its coast have to offer. The villa offers perfect privacy: it is surrounded by 15.000 square meters (about 161,459 square feet) of private land which also includes the stretch of rocky coast which lies from the villa to the sea. You will have modern furnishings which are very well-cared for and elegant both inside and outside the house.
The garden β¦
Villa Eleonora is nestled on a stretch of rocky coast halfway between the coastal road and the sea. Once you have parked the car on the coastal road, you can reach the house by climbing down a stone stairway dug into the rocks leading directly towards the sea.
Take some time to slowly climb every step of this 160-step stairway: inhale the perfume of the lemon gardens, feast your eyes on the blue of the sea and the sky, and enjoy the wild beauty of the Mediterranean vegetation before your eyes, one which grows amidst the rocks and form flower beds which have hues of yellow, blue, and bright pink here and thereβ¦
Once through the gate surmounted by a stone arch, you will step into the garden of the villa, which consists of terraces of several shapes and levels arranged according to the rocky terrain. From grey stone flower boxes grow red Bougainvillea and geraniums. Old little wrought-iron tables and chairs painted in white are distributed in every angle of the place. All the garden seems to be an amphitheatre set in place so you can enjoy the view of the sea and the coast.
It is a spectacle you will never feel tired of watching throughout all your vacation: on the left you will see two inlets of rocky coast which stand almost vertically really close by and which enclose two little sandy beaches. And a little bit further away you can see a bit of the Amalfi panorama with the entire arch of Gulf of Salerno as background. On the right you will see a picturesque promontory covered in pines and surmounted by an ancient watch tower. A bit away from the tower, the white villa owned by Sofia Loren stands quite visibly. Down below the garden you will see the coast which plunges into a sea of incredible emerald-green color.
Along the path that will take you to the sea, you'll find a big Jacuzzi with room for 7 people, ecologically heated by solar panels. The Jacuzzi's been strategically positioned into a flowered terrace-corner of the garden, where to admire the unique spectacle of the sea during a relaxing hydromassage. Here you'll be able to find a lovely sauna, provided with a glass door and a large amazing glass window overlooking the sea. Further along the Jacuzzi and the sauna, there's a small covered gym-area, equipped with a stepper, treadmill and weights machine.
β¦ and its βrotonda above the seaβ
One of the angles of the garden where you will love to spend time to enjoy the 360Β° spectacle of the coast and the sea will certainly be the βrotondaβ, a round terrace found on the top of a rocky spur high above the sea. It is shaded by two huge pines which grow incredibly out of the rock. You will also find a round gazebo furnished with several couches.
In front of the living-room of the villa you will find other areas which are furnished to allow you to spend time therein, sunbathe, or even have meals outdoors. You will have elegant armchairs and couches which turn it into a true and real outdoor living area with several sun loungers with comfortable cushions, table, and chairs in the shade of the olive trees⦠you will also have wide spaces available to spend time along with friends and also many reserved areas you can hide away whenever you feel like relaxing with a good book in hand.
Access to the sea
From Villa Eleonora you will have direct access to the sea. From the house you will be able to go down a path consisting of steps dug amidst the rock and the Mediterranean vegetation which will lead you to a concrete platform from which you can get into the water. You will find umbrellas and deck chairs on the platform. The path consists of about 150 steps. Such access is exclusive to guests of Villa Eleonora.
The house
The living-room
Villa Eleonora is two-storey high. Its simple structure, with grey stone walls daubed in white, respects the rocky wall over which it is built. The house and the wall blend perfectly together.
The heart of the villa is the spacious living-room on the ground floor. Two long walls facing the sea and the garden are actually large patio doors which allow you to feast your eyes on the sea and the splendid panorama even from inside the house. In the living-room you will have several couches and armchairs, tables and chairs. You will also have ADSL for internet and a satellite-dish TV. Furnishings in the living-room and all the villa are elegant, following the patterns of contemporary design.
Next to the living-room you will have an area furnished as a bar and the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a four-burner stove, an oven, a microwave oven, a large fridge, a dishwasher, and small appliances. Also next to the living-room is a bathroom with two separate toilet seats.
The bedrooms
All the seven rooms at Villa Eleonora are double bedrooms overlooking the sea and featuring a bathroom inside, a TV and Adsl for Internet, and a mini-bar. Five of the bedrooms are in the main house of the villa: one on the ground floor and the remaining four on the upper floor. The other two are actually in a secondary building placed next to the main house of the villa. You enter the two of them straight from the garden. You will find a bathroom with shower inside six of the bedrooms. The seventh bedroom features a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub.
The beaches
You will have several choices regarding beaches to go to. You can take the bus which stops 50 meters (about 164 feet) away from the house and reach the beach of Amalfi. From there it is also possible to take small boats which take bathers to splendid small inlets along the coast.
One of these inlets, the so-called beach of Santa Croce , is reached even on foot from Villa Eleonora, and the walk is definitely one not to be missed if you feel like climbing down 400 steps dug into the rock overlooking the sea.
To go back up you can get small boats which in only 10 minutes take you on a splendid ride on the sea to the port of Amalfi, where you can take the bus to go back to the house. During spring/summer all the beaches feature open restaurants and bars, rental of umbrellas and deck chairs, and also small boats connecting to places nearby.
In Amalfi, you can also go scuba diving and practice water sports.
Nearby tourist attractions
Villa Eleonora is a great starting point to visit all the coast.
It is only 3 km (about 1.9 miles) away from the port of Amalfi, where mini-cruise boats depart to the islands of Capri and Ischia , Positano, Sorrento , Naples , Salerno, Agropoli , Santa Maria di Castellabate , and the coast of the National Park of Cilento .
The bus connects all the towns of the coast and easily reaches places such as Pompeii , Herculaneum , Paestum , and the Reggia (Royal Palace) of Caserta . The SITA Amalfi β Sorrento line bus is only 50 meters (about 164 feet) away .
Near the villa you can also park the car along the road.
In addition, for mountain hiking enthusiasts, one can easily reach the famous trail running through the mountains of the Amalfi Coast amid cliffs and breathtaking views. Due to its extraordinary beauty, such path is called β Sentiero degli Dei β ( Path of the Gods ).
