Tampa, FLGreat Villa - Great Owner
Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We were eight adults on a two week Italian Holiday.
We spent our second week here in amalfi.
If you want to be away from the Positano and amalfi crowds, and the coast highway hustle and bustle this is an excellent location.
Overlooking the Mediteranean, with beautiful views, the villa is nestled about half up into the mountain side. As a note, if you have trouble with stairs this villa is not for you. There are stairs getting to and from the villa and inside the villa.
There is a local bus stop right up the walkway from the villa (35 stairs and about 50 yards walk - you have to get your luggage up and down this walk way also) that will get you to amalfi in a sometimes exciting and crowded 10 minutes ride. From amalfi you can transfer to buses going all over the peninsula or catch the ferry to Capri or elsewhere. The bus was so convenient, we parked our rented van for the whole week and never used it during our stay.
The villa itself was in excellent condition with beatiful hand made Italian tiles everywhere. It is on three levels, the top floor has two bedrooms with baths and a very slow/small clothes washing machine, no dryer - hang outside. The middle floor has two bedrooms and baths and the main entrance door. The bottom floor has the kitchen and lounge area and a small bedroom and small bath. There are very nice patios on all levels with the best outdoor area on the bottom floor with lawn, fountain and al fresco dining table right outside the kitchen area. There are also walk out balconies from each bedroom with excellent Mediteranean views except for the small bottom floor bedroom.
Kitchen was well equiped and easy to operate. They could use a new coffee maker - very slow and we had a lot of trouble locating coffe filters for it.
Overall our stay was great and Romollo, the owners son-in-law, was friendly, helpful and ver informative.

Roseville, CAGreat Views!
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The location is great and very convenient to amalfi town. Nice having the bus stop so close. Be sure to purchase your bus tickets, 1, 2, or 3 day passes at the Tabacchi shop across from the villa. We did not drive the car once we arrived and chose to take the Sita bus as driving the amalfi coast is not for the faint of heart. Be sure to know that parking a car does cost 15E per night. I mis-read the website to say the parking of one car is included and an extra car is 15E. That is not the case. We took the bus to amalfi, Ravello, Positano. We also took a guided tour to Pompei and Sorrento with italyhotline.com. I would highly recommend this company. It was a great tour. I would also recommend taking a private boat tour to Capri rather than the ferry. Not much more expensive than the ferry and so much better. We even got to swim through the green grotto. The view from the villa is also fantastic! We enjoyed the outside areas although, the yard definitely needs some tending to. There were weeds everywhere and the lawn was overgrown and untrimmed. We found the owner to be rather brusk and when we saw him in town, he did not even say "Hi". I realize his English is not the best but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged since we were staying in his villa. When we picked up the keys at his restaurant, Pesce de Oro, we were offered something to eat although not given any menus so we trusted that we would receive a nice meal, only wanted something light, and yes, it was fantastic but the most expensive meal we had our entire time on the amalfi coast. Our fault, perhaps, that we did not ask for menus. The interior is quite nice, 5 bedrooms, 4 with en-suite bathrooms. Beware - lot of stairs, common in amalfi area. It has a full size refrigerator and separate ice maker, both are unusual in Italy and nice to have. I would suggest that the cleaning fee be included in the price. It has to be paid anyway, so why not include it? Overall, we had a really enjoyable time.

We were 8 adult family members and the accommodations were excellent.
The owner was attentive to our concerns and was in no way interfering with our stay. The newly done floors are very beautiful in keeping with the decor. The kitchen is very contemporary with energy appliances. It became our favorite room as it opened out onto the back patio ith a wonderful BBQ grill. We were well within our electricity use. You can walk to amalfi easily and there is a charming local market nearby. If you find stairs difficult, this is not a place for you.
