Richmond, VaAs a young couple on a budget this was well worth the price.
Left on 06/13/2011 for a stay in January 2011
My wife and I visited Guatemala in January of 2011. I could not believe we could rent an entire home for less than we could stay in a hotel. We were able to cook all our own meals and save money on eating out. There were convenience stores in the community we walked to, to buy food and necessary items. We loved the community and pool. We were even provided contact information on a taxi driver who took us on day trips to antigua, Lake amititlan and horse back riding up the Volcano Pacaya. The view from the bedroom was amazing to wake up to each morning and we loved sipping coffee in the garden each morning. The house was incredible and much more than we ever expected. We would absolutely stay here again.

Manassas, VAGreat central location for seeing the country.
Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in June 2008
We rented the Grijalva home for a week in June 2008. It was a great location for our "let's see all of Guatemala" trip.
The house is very spacious, homey and is located in a friendly community. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds and enough bathrooms for everyone. Being a gated community with security, I thought there would be issues with our not speaking Spanish. But with the informative 'pass' Mrs. Grijalva provided, we came and went without issue. In addition, we were provided with directions to the nearest grocery store, contact info for an English speaking neighbor, and contact info for Grijalva relatives in the area.
From this, our home base, we visited most of Guatemala in day trips. A volcano clearly seen from the house even belched while we were there!
