My family of 4 (2 children ages 7 & 11) have just returned from our Sri Lankan holiday where we were incredibly fortunate enough to have booked a villa with the lovely Bruno & Nicole (owners). Their villas are in ambalangoda a small seaside village about 10 mins tuk tuk ride from Hikkaduwa (also not far from the expressway from Colombo to Galle). We spent 7 nights in the villa. Its an incredibly beautiful villa .. speechless really (less than 6 months old). 3 air con bedrooms, two huge living areas, cable tv, kitchen to cook (or in our case make cuppas & keep our drinks cold) With the lagoon, swimming pool, monkeys, monitor lizards, many different types of birdlife in your back yard its actually hard to leave the place to venture out. Breakfast on the verandah each day plentiful & tasty. We could choose between western & sri lankan style or both (I now have an addiction for passionfruit/mango jam on toast) Each day we ventured out with Manju one of the villas tuk tuk drivers. He was a lovely guy, safe driver & we really felt sad saying goodbye to him at the end of the week. The villa manager Sadath would pop in each day to check on us & ensure that we were happy & comfortable. He took us out for a ride in the lagoon on the motorised boat. The villa staff (two girls who cooked for us, did our washing & two guys who kept an eye on the place) were lovely & spoilt us rotten. We mainly opted to have dinner in the villa each night, as it was easy & delicious, with two children at the end of the day. The booking process, transfers etc smooth & easy. I actually loved dealing with Bruno & would love to meet him someday. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk away & you would be lucky to spot anyone on it. Clean white sand & aquamarine water. The area is also excellent for exploring with children. Lots to see. Trust me its incredible & you will fall in love with the place like we did. Thankyou we hope to come back someday.

We spent 3 nights at this villa and it is absolutely perfect.
The kids had a great time running around the lush garden, swimming in the gorgeous pool and enjoying boat rides on the river.
Sudath and the rest of the staff are really lovely, and went out of their way for us and provided lots of information.
The ladies made some of the best food we tasted during our stay in Sri Lanka . Better than any 5 star hotel. They are experts and making local dishes such as jack fruit, duballa and seafood.
The house is spotless and everything is thought of. The sorroundings are stunning and so peaceful.
We look forward to returning one day soon -

Our experience at the new Gangananda Villa can be expressed in one statement: we did not want to leave and would have extended our time if possible... but we know we will be back!
The villa itself offers all amenities needed for urban living, while providing the comfort and serenity of a village hide-away. The construction is very unique as the top roof is built to ventilate the villa smoothly with a tropical breeze, it gives you a sense of spacious living and adds a very charming splendor, and character to the villa.. Wonderful open-plan living.
It's a perfect location for lovers of the countryside. The best thing about this tranquil place was the view from the terrace over the river and the various sounds of nature. During the Daytime you can listen to birds while in the night you will be entertained by a concerto of crickets and frogs.
We woke up every morning after 6 to watch nature awake... There is a small catamaran and you can paddle on the river. In front is a little bird island and you can go around.
Don't miss the outstanding ditches the ladies will cook for you.
We just adore the peace and tranquility one feels. In short - magnifique!
Thank you so much Nicole and Bruno!
