Driftwood Apartment is a delightful first floor apartment in the bustling fishing port of Amble-by-the-Sea close to Alnwick in Northumberland. The cottage can sleep four people in one twin and one double bedroom with a family bathroom.     Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

      Good pre-holiday contact with comprehensive instructions and directions. A comfortable, modern and well equipped apartment. Provided exceptional value for money! A friendly town with lots hospitable pubs and restaurants. Fantastic location for sightseeing, venturing as far as the borders and south towards Newcastle! Bedrooms were very cosy and warm, living and dining area could have been a little warmer.

      what a loverly property for the price per week

      It was the first time we had used Sykes but would certainly use them again. The property was well above what we expected, it was very well presented and modern. The location was ideal for exploring Northumbria although the property is in a mainly residential area. there were shops and a pizza place close by and an excelent ice cream parlour nearby. We found the pubs better at Warkworth a mile away.

      Though the apartment was very well equiped it could do with more cutlery, also there were no garden chairs or table, mind you it was a wet time when we visited, they could have been put away somewhere.

      Wonderful birthday break

      What a wonderful long weekend, the apartment is absolutely fantastic.Great position right in the centre of the village, two minutes to the harbour and even closer to the best coffee and ice-cream parlour.The accomodation is very comfortable with every amenity (except it could do with a few more kitchen utensils; but that's our only niggle.
      The area is great with good eating places and beautiful villages etc to visit. Will certainly be back again soon!

      Nicely refurbished apartment in the town of amble, short walking distance to shops, harbourside and plenty of places to eat. Lots of places of interest within easy drive, like alnwick, Cragside, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne etc.

      This apartment is simply lovely. Beautifully furnished and very well equipped. An ideal base for exploring Northumberland, Amble offers most of what you could need in the way of shops, a Sunday market, Harbour with boat trips and a tourist info office. Although like most mining towns it has seen better days but is trying hard to turn it's fortunes round as is succeeding.
      We had a wonderful week despite the mixed weather. Bird watching, walking and wildlife spotting all a1. I would reccomend this as a base and the only downside was perhaps that the parking was a little tight.

      Lovely apartment which has been equipped to a very high standard. I would have given it 5 stars for comfort too except that the duvets provided were 13.5 tog and for the Summer it was too much. Luckily we had taken our own sheet and blanket so we were comfortable. I mentioned this to the owner and she will sort it out.
      Although there are two bedrooms, one of them has twin beds and a bedside table and no room for anything else so if two couples were going they would have to share the wardrobe in main bedroom. As there is no garden space apart from one table and chairs outside , this would be difficult with children, but for two people...perfect!

      Location central for so many places and just through an alleyway is an extremely well stocked Tesco Express so everything you need is on the doorstep.
