The outside pictures of Compass house don't do it credit,we had a great welcome from Virginia the owner who left us home made bread and soup and a supply of veg from her allotment.
The inside is very comfortable, spacious and clean with a well fitted kitchen and large bathroom with bath and shower.
An ideal location very close to the sea from either the front or back door!A short stroll from the town centre and close to all the facilities especially the pubs which allow dogs inside.
We can't wait to return and would recommend it highly

From the outside it's not very attractive but inside it's a different story. There was nothing missing and our dog was very at home - as were we. It was near enough to amble shops but far away enough to be nice and quiet. ideal location. Will definitely return.

We had a great time staying for a week in this cottage with our two dogs. The cottage was amazing & the attention to detail by the owner was incredible. Furniture & fixtures were first class (we thought we were in the wrong cottage!)
There was a welcome pack of milk, fresh home baked bread & home made soup. Along with a selection of vegetable from their allotment.
The cottage was metres from a beach & the harbour. There were plenty of places to walk the dogs.
A great fish & chip shop just round the corner - if it wasn't so far for us to travel we'd visit many times¬
The best possible place to come back to after a day out in the r

We had relentless rain during most of our stay in amble but enjoyed i nonetheless. The cottage was better equipped than we could have expected and Virginia could not have been more welcoming. Amble was a great base for exploring Hadrian's Wall, the lovely surrounding countryside and wonderful beaches - Bamburgh beach was wonderful even in the rain. I'd recommend the trip from amble harbour to Puffin island.

wonderful cottage with all appliances ad]nd clean bedrooms, bathroom etc. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and greeted us with homemade soup and bread to help us settle in. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed themsleves as the cottage was just a stones throw from the beach.
Would definately stay there again. A lovely peaceful place and so dog friendly.
Compass House in amble is a perfect dog-friendly, spacious, beachside retreat. The owners could not be more friendly and helpful, sandy beaches are on your doorstop, pubs and shops are a few yards away. And the surrounding coastline and countryside is breathtaking.
