Tiki Island, TexasCould have been better.
Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Sits behind a trailer park, 20 feet from a permanant resident, no lake view at all, and no internet at all, no TV for the first 6 days...owners sent a 7 year old over to check the TV hook up.
When I arrived there were no signs or address to locate this place, and neither of my two Gps's could locate it either by the address given.
The place is very clean, but almost every light bulb was burnt out to all the fixtures. The water is not drinkable (little white semi-circle things floating in it, smells heavily of metal and sulfur, and you will smell like that after you shower.) The lady that lives next door is very nice and has a W/D if needed. She refused payment for her services but I paid her anyway, because she is very nice and this really help me out a lot.
Overall, I thought it was a charming place. I liked the rustic decor and it was much better than a typical hotel room. I rated it somewhat lo because I thought the owners could have put a littl more effort into some light bulbs and especially the internet service because I informed them in advance that I was there on business and had to have the internet. I actually did have to finaly check into a hotel after 10 days because the internet provider never came to fix the problem. -

I have stayed at the Hillcrest Lodge on numerous occassions - Some of the fishing trips have been business related and others have been with family/friends. Super convienent location close to boat ramps at Lake amistad. Facility well maintained and very comfortable - have always had a very good experience at the Hillcrest Lodge. I would definantly recomend this destination for a fun trip to Lake amistad!!!

Traveled with two extended families, including young children and teenagers. Plenty to keep us all occupied. Most of the adults went fishing on Lake amistad - and had a couple of great days on the lake. The Lodge has facilities that make cleaning, cooking fish easy. Plenty of room for boat. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere.
