      Romantic Week

Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in October 2012

Hi, we are Jacopo & Silvia, an italian couple and we spent 5 wonderful days in amsterdam in October 2012.
We looked for a good offert and we found the "Tower Guesthouse": a very good value for money!
The bedroom is clean, warm and quite. The balcony has a unique view on the near bell tower, but the stairs to go up are "only for the brave"!!
The owner, Masoed, is discreet and kind. He helped us with informations about the city and he offered us tea & biscuits!
We recommend this beautiful place for a couple, and this website: easy, quick and secure.
      We will certainly come back!!

      Lovely and Welcoming

Left on 12/13/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Masood was a lovely very welcoming host. The accommodation is beautiful and it is well located. Two things people need to be aware of are the stairs to get to the apartment are very steep as are the ones leading to your room and the loft ladder to get to the roof terrace in the room. Not suitable for people with any issues walking. The other is that the rooms at this accommodation are actually in the host's house. You have to go through his living area to reach the room and there is no lock on the door to your room either. We didn't see the host much during our stay but if you are looking for the use of whole apartment this is not suitable. I would recommend this property to people long at they are aware of the two points above.

Over all lovely location and all decorated to a very high standard, And Masood was a lovely gentleman.

Many thanks for your feedback. You are right about those 2 points, although they are very clear in our website: it is not a whole private apartment, but a guest room in a house. Also, we don't recommend for elderly guests, children or people with walking disabilities. Further than that, it's lovely place, that makes you feel like a local.
      Cheers

      Great apartment, great location.

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We were 3 people, and we looked for an apartment in a central location in amsterdam. This apartment looked perfect, and when we got there we saw the pictures weren't lying, as opposed to hotel rooms that look very nice in pictures but usually very disappointing in reality. Beautifully decorated, very special, and fun to be at. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the central station, and close to Dam Square.
The only down sides are the price, which wasn't very cheap (but not very high) and the fact that it is on the third floor with very steep stairs (consider that if you have big luggage).
Also, when we left, the guy from the apartments company tried to pin us with some vase missing and take some of our deposit money, which I found very annoying. We are not children, we don't steal, and if we would break something we would pay for it. Luckily, I took a video of the apartment (like a tour, because it's really nice :]) and on the video you could see the vase wasn't there to begin with. But it was annoying anyhow, so pay attention when you go in the apartment.
All in all - great experience, I certainly think I'll re-take it in the future.

      Thanks for your feedback.
We, of Apartments Unlimited, and the owner of this accommodation were not aware about this story of a missing vase. We would try to find out what has happened, who has charge you that, and will come back to you as soon as we have news.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Best regards

      Lovely Stay in amsterdam

Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Great place to stay, excellent location - very close to the red light district, but not right in the middle of things so wasn't kept awake at all. Host was very friendly, and the room was perfectly fine. Roof top terrace was an added bonus. Good value for money. Only slight downside was I was under the impression that we were renting an apartment, however it is actually a room. You do get your own bathroom, but not able to use the lounge or kitchen, in saying that, I'm sure the host wouldn't have minded if we did, he was very accommodating, but it is not part of the rental. This was entirely my mistake though when I read the ad, I don't believe anyone was trying to mislead us.

Many thanks for your review! Indeed it's very clear in our website that this is a guest house, where you have your own private bedroom, bathroom, living room and roof terrace, but not the whole rest of the house.
I'm glad this didn't spoiled your stay :-)

      Location & beauty

Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Masoed's apartment made our weekend in amsterdam a pleasure! It was easy to get in contact and sort everything out efficiently. It is a 15 minute train ride from the airport to amsterdam Centraal and then a 15 minute walk to the apartment - don't take a taxi!

The house is spotless and beautifully furnished - a roof terrace and separate spaces perfect for a holidaying couple. Especially loved the church right outside our window and the architectural staircases (hope you don't have a heavy suitcase to lug up).

Fabulous location - in the city centre and yet tucked away quietly. Within easy walking distance of everything or biking distance (you have to try it!) of everything else.

Would most definitely recommend to friends or be in contact if I can get to amsterdam again.

      A poetic stay in amsterdam

Left on 02/10/2012 for a stay in February 2012

The room is just marvelous. A bit smaller than it appears on the picture, but so poeticaly decorated and set up. It is like sleeping on the roofs of amsterdam, just under the Church tower. We very warmly welcomed by the host, waiting for us with flowers. We will definetely come back for spring, to enjoy the incredible terrace.

      Gracious host, great location

Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Tower Guesthouse in July 2011 and had a very nice time. The room is within an apartment (which he has decorated beautifully), and the apartment owner, Masoed is a very charming host. We arrived to find little flowers on our pillows - a nice touch. The room is a decent size, with a closet and coat rack, large bed, electric tea kettle, small table and chairs, and great view of the Zuidkerk tower. The rooftop terrace is a very nice for sitting and relaxing, and there is very little street noise even though one is very close to the Red Light district. The room has fold-down stairs to the upper lounge area and terrace. He has just started renting his room - we were Masoed's second guests, ever, and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. Be aware that the apartment is on the 3rd floor, and, as is standard in amsterdam, there is not an elevator and the stairs are very narrow. Don't bring a big suitcase. The taxi from the train station cost 12 euros. I would recommend this place to a couple, or friends that don't mind sharing a bed, or single travelers.
