Tulipa B&B; is beautifully situated on the Leidsekade allowing the most picturesque and wide views of not one but two of the Amsterdam canals. Tulipa has 2 double rooms and 2 suites. Rates start at € 185 for a double room and € 200 for a suite.

Tulipa is beautifully situated on the Leidsekade allowing the most picturesque and wide views of not one but two of the Amsterdam canals. The building dates from the end of the 19th century with high ornamental ceilings and many original characteristics.
The location is a perfect starting point for any visitor to the city. The Leidseplein with its theatres, bars, nightclubs and restaurants, the Museumplein with its famous museums exhibiting the Dutch masterpieces and the PC Hoofdtstraat for incredible shopping are all within 5 minutes walking distance from Tulipa.
The trendsetting Jordaan with its unique shops and boutiques is also just around the corner.

We stayed in Tulipa for 3 nights in their new suite located on the 2ed+3ed floor.
The place is huge and very nicely decorated, the host and hostes are just marvelous. Those who have problems with climbing I would not sugesed this suite as you have to climbe some 40 steps till you get to your bathroom. Paula and Jan have other rooms with have also canal view but withour so many steps. Breakfast is delicious. -

Tulipa was a wonderful experience for us. We stayed with Paula and Jan for 5 days and enjoyed to the max every delicious breakfast. As hosts, they were unsurpassed with their graciousness and eagerness to tell us about their city and what things might interest us there. We had the pleasure of staying in 2 of their 3 rooms there as we had booked to move from a lower room to the room with the view of the canals when that room became available. Each room has its own unique qualities and comforts. The lower room, while lacking the view, is very large and comfortable, two story with a gorgeous winding staircase from the living space to the bedroom and large windows that opened to the inner courtyard. And the canal view, wonderful! Charm everywhere. Thanks to Paula and Jan for such a wonderful time in amsterdam. Tip from Jan. Get some herring while you are there at one of the little herring stands.

Very nice location, very kind stuff, everything great.
Wir waren über Pfingsten 2012 4 Tage im Tulipa und können das nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Die Zimmer sind speziell und geräumig (mit sehr grossen Badezimmern) und sehr sauber in ein einem schönen, alten amsterdamer Haus mit Gartenblick oder besser noch auf eine Gracht. Es ist sehr zentral gelegen, alles zu Fuss erreichbar, nahe am Leidseplein, wo es abends ins Vergnügen und zu den Restaurants geht, aber auch nah an der altstadt, diversen Bootstour-Vermittlern, Märkten usw.
Das Gastehepaar ist extrem nett und hilfsbereit. Man bekommt einen Stadtplan und von Paula gute Tipps für Sightseeing und Restaurants, die der normale Tourist nicht so zu sehen bekommt. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet, sehr reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich und mit Liebe gemacht. Guter Kaffee, frisch gepresster Orangensaft, super frisches organisches Brot, frische Früchte, Müsli, Käse, Rohschinken mit Melone und jeden Tag spezielle Pancakes oder Eier (mit Tomate, frischen Pilzen usw.). Es ist relativ teuer, Hotels aber auch und der Preis lohnt sich.
